24 elders

Silk. I dont know why solomon is on my list. It just seems like he was an elder and wrote the book of proverbs, full of wisdom. He started out great but of course he ended badly, but im pretty sure he repented. He also wrote/inspired song of solomon. His contribution still counts I reckon. This is just a list of people I think of as elders.

You could put Noah instead, but he also was not perfect...well, none of them were. Many of these are mentioned in Hebrews faith hall of fame chapter...as the great cloud of witnesses.

Solomon wrote eccelesiastes. In it he came to the conclusion with all his riches it was vanity. The best thing is to follow God and keep his commandments. I thought it was a tough lesson for a King to learn but he did, to his credit. Just like David repented of his adultery and murder.

I was just curious, @Lanolin because he is held in high regard in occult circles even today. More than likely they are just using his name. He built the 1st Temple. It doesn't indicate in scripture that he repented but it is through him that the bloodline to Christ continued. I would think Noah was a worthier candidate. But I'm going to reiterate that I think the elders are 12 OT people and 12 of the church. John the Baptist was supposedly Elijah/Elias.
Mat 17:10
And his disciples asked him, saying, Why then say the scribes that Elias must first come?
Mat 17:11
And Jesus answered and said unto them, Elias truly shall first come, and restore all things.
Mat 17:12
But I say unto you, That Elias is come already, and they knew him not, but have done unto him whatsoever they listed. Likewise shall also the Son of man suffer of them.
Mat 17:13
Then the disciples understood that he spake unto them of John the Baptist.

Just to reiterate, i never said the four beasts are figurative, i dont know where you got that idea. It is Daniel who interprets them in his vision to be representing kingdoms. This is not to say they are not real.

You were waxing figurative concerning the 24 elders, and you need to know that they do not represent anything other than who they are.

My last post was actually from yesterday. @Arrie03 ? Are you saying the 4 living creatures/beasts are akin to Ezekial's vision? I go with Euphemia that the 4 cannot be world empires or the leaders who initially lead them.
Hi.
This post I made?

I always took those four creates, one like a lion, one like a calf, one like a human, and one like an eagle as to originating from heaven, not earth.
It seems they are there to worship God eternally, and seems to lead the proceeding, and the elders kneel on their "command".
They must be the praise and worship leaders.;)

Sorry, lost you there on post 44.

I read that book ages ago, but thought it just repeated what was already in Revelation but with his added opinions.

I must have given the book of Enoch away. I remember being quite intrigued with it for a while. When revelation and daniel talks about a book sealed, which book are they talking about?

It's best to only read books that repeat the bible.;)
Do as I say, not as I do, the only book I read apart from the bible is Car magazine. But the latter gets less eye time.

I like Ecclesiastes. Solomon definitely brought his side with the wisdom God gave him.

Lol. I can just read the bible. The book of Revelation is shorter than reading that heaven book.

I read lots of books. No car magazines though. Only gardening.

I guess, if the 24 elders arent named I suppose its for a reason but Im intrigued by them. Had they been in heaven all that time? Were they the order of melchizidek? The four beasts seem to uphold heaven and the throne. They also seem like they are in charge of the four winds and rulership of kingdoms on earth. Note that the 24 elders cast their crowns. So they must have been kings of some sort.
I dont know if prophets had crowns. Jesus had a crown of thorns. Jesus is both high priest, prophet AND he is coming King.

I must say, the randy alcorn book was not so bad...but I just remember him saying a lot that we going to eat nachos in heaven. I remember thinking his idea of heaven is like america on steroids.,

The "Heaven" book clears up a lot of mystery and mythology that many people---even Christians tend to believe. You would do well to read it again. The author is anointed to bring the truth to you based on good understanding of the word of God---not mere opinion. He takes all verses in scripture that speak of heavenly matters into account---not just Revelation. Together they all form a good picture of what heaven is like, despite the fact that God has not revealed everything.

I thought that Ezekial's vision was a good idea and your post seemed to remind me of it - where did you get your "one like a lion...etc? It made me think that possibly the animal kingdom is represented in heaven. Here are the Ezekial's verses..

Eze 1:5
Also out of the midst thereof came the likeness of four living creatures. And this was their appearance; they had the likeness of a man.
Eze 1:6
And every one had four faces, and every one had four wings.
Eze 1:7
And their feet were straight feet; and the sole of their feet was like the sole of a calf's foot: and they sparkled like the colour of burnished brass.
Eze 1:8
And they had the hands of a man under their wings on their four sides; and they four had their faces and their wings.
Eze 1:9
Their wings were joined one to another; they turned not when they went; they went every one straight forward.
Eze 1:10
As for the likeness of their faces, they four had the face of a man, and the face of a lion, on the right side: and they four had the face of an ox on the left side; they four also had the face of an eagle.
Eze 1:11
Thus were their faces: and their wings were stretched upward; two wings of every one were joined one to another, and two covered their bodies.
Eze 1:12
And they went every one straight forward: whither the spirit was to go, they went; and they turned not when they went.
Eze 1:13
As for the likeness of the living creatures, their appearance was like burning coals of fire, and like the appearance of lamps: it went up and down among the living creatures; and the fire was bright, and out of the fire went forth lightning.
Eze 1:14
And the living creatures ran and returned as the appearance of a flash of lightning.
Eze 1:15
Now as I beheld the living creatures, behold one wheel upon the earth by the living creatures, with his four faces.
Eze 1:16
The appearance of the wheels and their work was like unto the colour of a beryl: and they four had one likeness: and their appearance and their work was as it were a wheel in the middle of a wheel.
Eze 1:17
When they went, they went upon their four sides: and they turned not when they went.
Eze 1:18
As for their rings, they were so high that they were dreadful; and their rings were full of eyes round about them four.
Eze 1:19
And when the living creatures went, the wheels went by them: and when the living creatures were lifted up from the earth, the wheels were lifted up.
Eze 1:20
Whithersoever the spirit was to go, they went, thither was their spirit to go; and the wheels were lifted up over against them: for the spirit of the living creature was in the wheels.
Eze 1:21
When those went, these went; and when those stood, these stood; and when those were lifted up from the earth, the wheels were lifted up over against them: for the spirit of the living creature was in the wheels.
Eze 1:22
And the likeness of the firmament upon the heads of the living creature was as the colour of the terrible crystal, stretched forth over their heads above.
Eze 1:23
And under the firmament were their wings straight, the one toward the other: every one had two, which covered on this side, and every one had two, which covered on that side, their bodies.
Eze 1:24
And when they went, I heard the noise of their wings, like the noise of great waters, as the voice of the Almighty, the voice of speech, as the noise of an host: when they stood, they let down their wings.
Eze 1:25
And there was a voice from the firmament that was over their heads, when they stood, and had let down their wings.
Eze 1:26
And above the firmament that was over their heads was the likeness of a throne, as the appearance of a sapphire stone: and upon the likeness of the throne was the likeness as the appearance of a man above upon it.
Eze 1:27
And I saw as the colour of amber, as the appearance of fire round about within it, from the appearance of his loins even upward, and from the appearance of his loins even downward, I saw as it were the appearance of fire, and it had brightness round about.
Eze 1:28
As the appearance of the bow that is in the cloud in the day of rain, so was the appearance of the brightness round about. This was the appearance of the likeness of the glory of the LORD. And when I saw it, I fell upon my face, and I heard a voice of one that spake.

Word searches can be profitable, albeit pains in the butt. Four and twenty elders is only found in Revelation. Here are the applicable verses below.

And round about the throne were four and twenty seats: and upon the seats I saw four and twenty elders sitting, clothed in white raiment; and they had on their heads crowns of gold.
Rev_4:10
The four and twenty elders fall down before him that sat on the throne, and worship him that liveth for ever and ever, and cast their crowns before the throne, saying,
Rev_5:8
And when he had taken the book, the four beasts and four and twenty elders fell down before the Lamb, having every one of them harps, and golden vials full of odours, which are the prayers of saints.
Rev_5:14
And the four beasts said, Amen. And the four and twenty elders fell down and worshipped him that liveth for ever and ever.
Rev_11:16
And the four and twenty elders, which sat before God on their seats, fell upon their faces, and worshipped God,
Rev_19:4
And the four and twenty elders and the four beasts fell down and worshipped God that sat on the throne, saying, Amen; Alleluia.

I actually have not read this part yet. It is interesting and very similar, but more detail though. Revelation has nothing about the conjoined wings, so is it possible these are different sets of creatures? Likely.
I think some people may catch a freight when they see the creatures in heaven one day.

I dont think they are different, just described in a different manner. Think of butterflies, some people see they have two wings, other see they have four.
