Alphabet Soup Garden Varieties

my laser blue Jeep is forgetting the taste of gravel
it desires a bucket full of sand in its shoes
maybe a nice coat of sunshine baked salt water
the smell of week old dirty camping laundry
or sticky cup holders filled with half eaten candy
it certainly craves feeling the wind in its filter

but alas, I am too broke and tired for a pilgrimage
to a state park Ive seen before or long ago
so we will just have to dream together loudly
and discuss the ways we've explored American roadways
while we blast something that annoys the neighbors
only to remember we are still stuck in the driveway...

Hey thenami;

My first car, a 1973 Dodge Monaco was a boat, 8 cylinders and needed a lot of tender loving care. I rebuilt the engine with the help of a friend who was a Sears mechanic. I installed a cassette player and 4 speakers, blue clear vinyl floor mats, and all kinds of little parts here and there.

When I went to the gas station (back then the service attendant filled the tank) I would ask him to give me .50 cents or a dollar of gas. On payday I could only afford to fill the tank half full. lol!

Regardless, my Monaco was so much fun. Once we parked on the cliffs overlooking the ocean in Rosarito Beach, Mexico. I took out the speakers, set them on the trunk playing music and put the flashers on the tail light to give it a disco effect.

We all started dancing. 🎷💃🕺👯‍♀️🏋️‍♀️🎸lol!

Driving boats seemed to be a right of passage in our twenties.
Now that seems so long ago I wonder where my life has gone.
Major dreams simply fade into the realities of survival.
Old, broken bodies are what remain as reminders of yesterday.

singing in my window
my little friends come to visit
precious things they are
hanging out in my tree

how I love them
on most early mornings
but today somehow
their music is Noise

let me rest silently
your constant chirps
of every bird call known
is simply annoying

go away visit tomorrow
I was actually sleeping
which is a rare occurrence
I guess I have ear plugs

cause you are beautiful
and sweet creatures
doing what you do
and I still love you

does our Father quiet us
drowning the loud
into softer comfort
maybe He has ear plugs, too

Good morning, thenami;

Things are quiet here this morning. It's nice. Thank you for those little guys singing in my window.

Your poem is wonderful timing, perfectly God's timing.

God bless you, sister, and have a blessed day.

we will be at Duke hospital
a week stay for all kinds of testing
keep my daughter in your prayers
hugs and happiness to all
ox' thank you in advance

Father in the name of your Son Jesus Christ
give those who need strength loving support
those whom need kindness a stranger with hope
those who need patience greater understanding
help my brothers and sisters where they need it most
help feed the hungry house the homeless
and comfort those in critical need
may your light shine bright through us
may we all be examples of salvation's grace
fill our minds with thoughts of you
ease our hearts with your abundant love
so much so others can feel it well
Amen

with patience our Father in heaven renews our strength
He gifted us the tools overcome all earthly obstacles
courage is taught to us through scripture to not be afraid
for our Lord is with us wherever we may travel in this world
we trust in Him with all our heart and not in our understanding
our future is filled with hope like His city we are lights not hidden
when we rest in Him we find much needed solace and peace
for all things are possible with our Lord when one believes
nothing could ever separate us from our Fathers great love
in the name of His Son Jesus Christ we live this inside our hearts
we rejoice in this truth as we walk in faith not by sight
it is by His grace we are saved and not by the works of any man
and one day I will see those member of the body of Christ I love
in heaven to rest with me forever in His glory, Amen

I wanted to write a poem today, but our Father in heaven,
in the name of His Son Jesus Christ, led me to write this instead.
I needed it more than a poem. ox'

WOW.... we have some talented poets here in the forums. This is beautiful. I struggle to do the odd haiku.
This special gift of words really blesses me.

in my own stillness of silence I can hear
musical vibrations I might wish to recall
they flood my heart with exceeding kindness
and pour out from mine eyes like honey,

these sounds feed hungry souls with hope
may even fill minds with illogical faith
or cleanse more than mere pallets of life color
but renew strength peace virtue and integrity,

from my softest finger tips lightest touch
I feel these like melodies play within
which speak to me in their own dialect
made especially just for me to wish to share,

come inside and understand this treasure
for it is a gift that all can come to know
from every walk of life this wisdom sings
through the souls of the many who listen,

digest one word at a time slowly
before complete sentences make sense
as they make their own symphony for you
our Father in Heaven creates masterpieces,

in the name of His Son Jesus Christ
these notes sound like a cymbal on pages
ready to be recorded by the love inside us
and played back again on instant repeat~

its just another hour just another weekend
each one is just one day of this month
breathe in breathe out eat drink wash repeat
like our lives depend on clean laundry

seems like everything gets dirty over again
no matter what is going on it happens
our hands our bodies our dishes our souls
we are constantly scrubbing something

thank goodness we have soap and water
cause there are the less fortunate that dont
many dont even know Jesus washes our sins
can you imagine running around unsaved?

I know I enjoy the rain cause in my mind
there are thoughts of it washing the world
and somehow I find that very comforting
even our Father gifted me with that

the pictures He plants in my head
are so beautiful in their simplicity
I like to envision everyone in heaven
everything washed clean white as snow

be cautious of danger and evil lurking among good intentions
shallow waters still hide sharp pebbles and rocks
dig deeper into your own heart for guidance and knowledge
for the Lord has filled you with His power from the heavens
it is written in the scriptures to nourish your soul from within
therefore beware of false flatteries hiding upon the surface
with greater depth even a well produces cleaner water
seek to drink what our Father has prepared for you
and that is what will refresh your spirit the most

in the name of His Son Jesus Christ, Amen

I have been asked what I have done
with my life
as answers flood my mind and vary greatly
no matter the good bad ugly indifferent manipulations
of myself others situations or dramatical events
we all have garbage upon our hands Each And Every One
scars reek their reminders of yesterdays battles
turmoil's tribulations tragedies travesties transgressions
this is what others remember as the world wont let us forget
but what do we choose to recall in the wee hours of morn
when its just us and our Father in the name of His Son Jesus Christ
what do we decide to pray about when He does press our buttons
That Is What I Have Done With My Life
And That Is What Matters The Most

I Am His Child, and that is what I AM in this life
