working in a bakery is hard work
I remember turning the ovens on at 3am
before I would get the donuts started
they would fry so much better
when they were still a little frozen
then I would give them a good glaze
frozen bread dough was put in the fridge
the day before so it was ready to go
and I would bake my heart out
making everything from subs to hoagies
fresh baguettes to croissants
everything else came in frozen
until it was time for cake orders
fruit vegetables and sandwich platters
fried roasted chickens and drumettes
you name it we did it and it was tough
we all cranked out a lot of beautiful food
but I do not miss it one bit
I think that was the hardest job I ever had
the pay wasnt too bad but I hurt everyday
I even got stuck in the freezer once
however it was a mini break till they found me
I did have a coat on so I was fine
it was almost an hour before they noticed
the jobs we had in our youth molded us
so yes bakers hours you say?
you certainly can keep them
other than a fresh fried donut
or a nice hot croissant
I sure do miss sneaking a few of those...
(thanks for the write ideas
