An Original Cartoon A Day

Big Moose
Calling Mr. Moose.... PARTY over here...... Bring a treat bag of peanut butter cups and fizzy drinks ...... and Can you bring over Frannie??? She can spend the day here.... Don't forget her crayons... ( and you might want to HIGHLY praise her... as they are the LEAST damaging of all the weapons/oops colouring tools ) She doesn't really like them but SHE WILL if you tell her that YOU like them. :D

Also.... Maybe we can have Karaoke night???? That would be fun!!!

Davey Do Tomorrow is my birthday and my uncle sent me a gift card (e.g. Zelle $$) that I used to buy some awesome paints in what I hope to be a good mixing set. Thanks, Uncle! ❤🙏

Good morning, Jason;

Happy Birthday, brother. Enjoy your special day!

I've been enjoying reading your posts in An Original Cartoon A Day.

God bless
you.

Hello Davey Do;

I remember the term Bible Thumper back in the 90s. I don't feel its still a term used today. I'm sure teens, young adults and those in their 30s and early 40s may use a different name.

I personally don't put a lot of stock to dictionary terms when it comes to Christianity. I can see the definition of the dictionary you describe can arouse debate.

I have witnessed Bible Thumpers visible in the streets here and I have stood and listened. These are just people who love Jesus and that's a good thing. I feel we can call John the Baptist a Thumper. He was an intense man of God (besides Jesus' cousin) who evangelized in a serious way.

I dig the drawing and the use of Uncle Bob.
😎👍lol!

Look at the pretty colors... all made by just mixing yellow, red, blue, purple and brown.

P.S. Thanks, everyone, for the kind birthday wishes. :)

SERIOUSLY????????????? All those colours out of 5 basic colours?????????? REALLY??????? WOW.

OK.... so CHEAT SHEET here.... I have just asked my daughter to order these 36 colours.

The three blobs of red, blue and yellow that I bought are in small containers with a lid... and have a bunch of paper stuck on them from the sheet I tried to pull them off of. WHAT a mess that was. I thought all I would have to do is remove the blobs intact.... but NOPE... that did not happen. I am NOT happy.

the brand is Meiliang.... and as you can see they are the tubes which I think I will like... They are student grade... and good enough for me for a beginner watercolour set. I do NOT like those little sets of colour that come in a paint set.

Anyways.... I cannot as in..... I CAN'T believe you got all those colours out of 5 colours. OH my goodness....

Consider me..... FORMALLY shocked.... I guess I just never understood the concept of how colours are made... I guess they were telling the truth when they said.... primary colours of red blue and yellow are WHERE it's at BABY. HAHA.

AWESOME!!! That looks like fun! You'll need a palette for holding the colors as you paint, as well as a mixing plate. If these are non-toxic then you can literally use a plate ( as in dishes) for mixing. If you buy some eggs in a plastic container then you can use that (container, not eggs) to hold the raw colors.

Someone's gonna have some FUN!

Oh my goodness.... the beauty of this THREAD..... It makes my heart to smile.... from block to block to MILE. HA

Ok.... exciting news.... VERY EXCITING.... LearningToLetGo ...

1. My paints have ARRIVED
2. I have a caddy for all my pens and markers.... It's now a ONE stop shop and I LOVE it. I found it this morning at the
dollar store.

3. I am ready to begin sketching with pencil and pencil crayon... and will do this as a daily discipline to learn how to
draw. This seems like a logical next step for me. The paints will wait until I have mastered a bit of shading and
perspective with my sketches.

4. Soon I should have something to OFFER this thread. AT the moment... my pen-pal is getting all my art.
Daily scribbles in a journal will change that. I will begin tomorrow morning... but no promise of how long
it will take to SHOW YOU. HAHA.

5. I LOVE this thread.

In the past, I had dreams of being in class, forgetting tests, not having enough credits to graduate, and as a nurse had dreams of forgetting to check on my patients or other problemed situations.

After years of retirement, those dreams have decreased and now "Art Dreams" have taken their place, and most recently, I've had artsy dreams in black & white and grayscale.

Looking through an old text which I used in junior high and bought at a book sale while in high school, I noticed many illustrations used grayscale with some color thrown in:
