Anyway. Adam was probably just thinking of his stomach. Eve was thinking of the wisdom she would gain. I think God punished them accordingly, but it really was Adam who was a bit thick on this one. Maybe he wasn't even thinking cos he quickly forgot what God had told him and didn't say 'No serpent you are wrong God really did say we'll die! Get lost'.
