Correct!

Not one single person on the face of the earth in the days of Noah was prepared neither fif they care, until the first rain drop fell and than it was too late. Not a single person that heard Noah preach for 120 years came to the Lord except the members of his family.

I agree with you Major, that is more important now than ever, that we try to act, always as Christ teaches us, as Christians. My best times on this web site have come from your advice to me to ask the Holy Ghost for help in reading scripture as well as praying. (Duh) It never occurred to me to do that, but when I applied it, things got better. I also think that when we feel "attacked" for our positions - that we start conversations (PM) with the person doing this to get it straight (or not - there are no perfect solutions.) It is a normal, human reaction to get defensive when we feel attacked. There can be great enlightment in discussing/debating points in scripture and there will be times where no agreement can be reached. Agree to disagree and let it go - enlightenment can come from this place too.

Yep. This warning was given to believers: not nonbelievers. The consequences is being left behind in having their portion with the unbelievers in facing the coming great tribulation.

Luke 12:39 And this know, that if the goodman of the house had known what hour the thief would come, he would have watched, and not have suffered his house to be broken through. 40 Be ye therefore ready also: for the Son of man cometh at an hour when ye think not. 41 Then Peter said unto him, Lord, speakest thou this parable unto us, or even to all?....45 But and if that servant say in his heart, My lord delayeth his coming; and shall begin to beat the menservants and maidens, and to eat and drink, and to be drunken; 46 The lord of that servant will come in a day when he looketh not for him, and at an hour when he is not aware, and will cut him in sunder, and will appoint him his portion with the unbelievers. 47 And that servant, which knew his lord's will, and prepared not himself, neither did according to his will, shall be beaten with many stripes. 48 But he that knew not, and did commit things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with few stripes. By His grace & by His help, this is why I am warning believers about putting the spotlight on the Holy Spirit in worship because they suffer a thief in breaking through with signs & lying wonders when they do that when they seek to receive the "Spirit" "again" after a sign. 1 Timothy 4:1-2

That is why the real indwelling Holy Spirit will always keep that spotlight on the Son in worship so that we can test the spirits in how they are leading us away from the Son and thus proving to be the spirits of the antichrist.

Antichrist as used in scripture means "instead of Christ" which is to mean "instead of the Son".

Best way to be ready is keep your eyes on the Bridegroom because that is Whom the indwelling Spirit is pointing us to in continuing to live that personal reconciled relationship with God through Jesus Christ, the Son of God.

Wars and natural disasters have never been the chief indicator for me. When scripture says 'as in the days of Noah, Sodom and Gomorrah'' I don't visualise wars and natural disasters, rather extreme immorality. Days where the flesh was in full control. Now look at history. When did gays first come out the closet in a big way? When was gay marriage legalized in your state?

I take Matt 24:22 literally! 'No flesh will be saved' includes us, the elect! Unless He shortens these days. ie Comes sooner rather then later. If He doesn't come, how many of us will be too corrupted to be saved? How many of us are battling with porn? How many of us have started thinking GLBT'ism is fine? How many of us have started swearing like they do in movies?

Imho, the time is riper then ripe. I expect Him anyday.
 
I agree Rusty. Something like 'tossing parents into retirement homes' shows selfishness / flesh in full control.

I agree with Rusty & King that you must look, inside, for you own flaws and correcting them in any first steps of preparation. But it is Christ himself, who tells us the signs, that you are shrugging away - he does say that corruption of his truth, as the first sign - and those who will want to mislead us. Someone questioned the fact that we live in the age of information as not being a sign of the second coming but how could you have a "one world order" without instant communication. And come on - never in mankind's history shows one bad weather front after another. And we have this awful information, right away, because of the vast communication media in place. Just saying.

:) Point taken. Wars will definitely increase and they surely have! Its just that where do you draw the line with wars? How many wars is enough? How big must a war be? How many rumours must you hear? Whereas, sexually immorality, where two moms can be your parents, children disrespecting parents, hearing good Christians you once respected talk immorally. Heck, hearing yourself say immoral things that you never said before.....These are things that should sicken us to the core. It should wake up and alert every end time sensor in our body...and if it doesnt :(:(

Oh, wait.... Daniel 12:4
"But thou O Daniel, shut up the words and seal the book even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro and knowledge shall be increased".

I promise you that when the Rapture takes place, those still here will be trying to find out all that they can find about what just took place. They will be seeking to gather information and "knowledge".

Rev. 1:7
"Behold, He cometh with clouds and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him".

World wide tele-communications make that prophecy a literal event waiting to happen.

And notice......the Jews are in view in the 1st chapter of the Revelation which confirms Zecheriah.

Zechariah 12:10
"And I will pour upon the house of David and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of supplications and they look upon me whom they have pierced and they shall mourn for him, as one mourneth for his only son, and shall be in bitterness for him, as one that is in bitterness for his firstborn".

KingJ.........believe me, I totally agree with my brother on the sexual and porno thing!!!!!

BUT, when Jesus was asked, He did not speak directly about those things but instead spoke on the religious deception and Wars which is what I was referring to.

Wars have always been with us but they are going in their scope as we see that WW! and WW2 affectyed the whole world not just a specific country. Today, countries all over the globe have developed nuclear weapons, and biological weapons that can kill all of humanity which have never been possible until today...NOW.

When we understand the warning Jesus gave and compare it to the prophets like Zechariah 12, and Exekiel 38-39 and then the 2nd Seal judgment of the Revelation which is WAR, the picture comes together.

Even the 2nd Coming of Christ is referred to as the "Battle of Armageddon".

Just something to pray about and think about.

You are spot on Silk. And may I say to you that it is really NOT US that has to look inside and fix ourselves.

I believe it is the act of asking the Holy Spirit to come and live in our hearts that is the first step in anything.

We you see are all sinners, dead and seperated from a holy God.

Romans 3:23.....
"All have sinned and come short of the approval of God".

Ephesians 2:1
"And you hath he saved who wwere DEAD in trespasses and sins".
To be cleaned up, or fixed or whatever we want to call it, we must have the help and direction of God in us which is the hope of glory because on our own...............
we are a mess!!!!!!

Galatians 6:3
"For if a man think himself to be something ....when he is nothing, he deceives himself".

We must have Christ in us to be able to change because we simply can not do it by ourselves!

I have to confess, that I didn't always understand the Holy Ghost very well. I invited it into my heart to reside, but then tended to ignore this God-given resource. When I was in a room, speaking to one or more people of spiritual matters and felt the room become charged, electrical currents in the air, my level of consciousness raised - I thought this was because of me - because of my understanding. I see now it was the Holy Ghost all along. But I am still learning. I think our first step toward preparation for "end times" is how allowing the "lies" to rule our culture, should be literally torn up by it's roots. It is the "lie" we tell that opens us to evil.

#1) Inviting the Holy Spirit into your heart is not the right way for asking God into your heart when Jesus is the only Mediator between God and man. John 14:6 & 1 Timothy 2:5 Jesus baptizes us with the Holy Ghost. The Holy Ghost cannot move on His own accord so there is no asking the Spirit to do anything.

#2) Feeling the room charged, eletrical currents in the air.... I felt that too, when I was pinned down in my bed, unable to move. I had prayed to Jesus for help and I was able to life my right wrist, then the left, I was able to lift my right forearm, and then the left, I was able to lift my right arm off the bed and then my left, and when I was able to life my right shoulderblade off of the bed, the weight rolled off but I was sure tired.

That event happened on a Monday after school when I took a nap because I was so tired. The previous days: Saturday & Sunday, I was exposed to Ernest Angeley Healing Crusade by which he would call on the Holy Spirit to come with the announcement of "whoooooooooo..." to effect a healing. All I got was a sensation of vibrations in my deaf ear.

Then that happened after school on Monday.

So the apostle John was correct when testing the spirits because what was felt in the room and outside of us is not the Holy Spirit but the spirit of the antichrist.

I have no doubt that what you had felt in the room was NOT the Holy Spirit. He is in you as promised by faith in Jesus Christ so that you can test the spirits and know that the spirit of the antichrist is outside of you as being in the world.

John 14:17 Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.

1 John 4:1Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.....3 And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world. 4 Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.
 
Talks, as I said on another thread - methinks you don't understand the Holy Spirit. Being pinned to your bed could be "sleep paralysis". I didn't say I was pinned anywhere - I said that I could feel the Holy Spirit, and I also can say -so did the other people in the room.

I understand your skepticism, but the scripture drew the line for our discernment in testing the spirits and that is anything felt outside of us is the spirit of the antichrist and not the Holy Spirit.

My reference to my experience was that I too felt that electrical humming in the room. Sorry that I did not make that point clearer to you.
