There is nothing wrong with you telling them that verbal abuse is not acceptable.
Do you like the job you are doing? You could look for a different job while you are still working. Sometimes it is easier to get a job when you are still in one.
 
I love my job. Its just some of the people who arent easy to get along with.
Today, I got told off for asking if I would bring my brother to the work do. i have to univite him now. They said you could bring a partner, but apparently it has to be a spouse or boyfriend or girlfriend. Family arent allowed. But isnt a spouse your family? Doesnt make sense. So I could bring someone I hardly know, but not my brother. Then they said no friends, but itsnt a boyfriend or girlfriend a friend?? Um...I shouldnt have said anything and we just turned up. You get told off for being upfront and honest.

My workplace management is evil. And they said 'we are not a charity'. Well why did they say you could bring a partner and then say you cant. So stupid. I pray everyday though, and ask God to bless my workmates, even though everyday they curse and swear. It just gets old hearing the same words all the time. Meh.

Next time simply check before inviting someone and it's there business so really why do you have anything against how they run it?

The Lord Got on me about being like that and it is changing my life for the better so I am passing it on to you.

Lanolin remember you have an enemy working 24/7/365 against you.

You let it be known that these folks bother you and frustrate you - well you are telling your enemy that his schemes are working - so he keeps on using them against you.

Every time you mutter under your breath, tell them and tell others and writing in here is still speaking it.......you help your enemy know what gets to you. You are telling him what buttons to push in you.

Think about this.

Um I dont tell my enemy anything. I dont mutter under my breath. i just talk to God, but if you arent allowed to talk about problems and things that bother you on here and pretend things are ok when they arent well thats just delusional.

Also I did check and they said was ok to bring partner and then they said it wasnt. Also I think you allowed to have a say in how a business is run if you the one doing the work. If you dont say anything the business might run itself into the ground by the way they are going because everyone is leaving.
 
My other boss said was ok to bring a boyfriend. I actually told him it bothered me because last work do I went with my workmate and he left me to take the late train all by myself. We went intogether he lives in the same street. He didnt even tell me he was catching a ride with someone else. Anyway, thats why I thought bring a partner someone to go with, who I can rely on. And someone who doesnt drink and get intoxicated. Not that I do, but it seems like they will.

So, what just say nothing. Im not against them, I dont care what they do to try and get me to fall - its just saying what they are doing. Nothing wrong with that. The Bible is actually quite explicit in the ways the enemy works it doesnt avoid the toPic.

Or Grace being unmerited favor.

You can not put down on people and walk in Love.
The devil wants your words. Your words either keep him out or open the door.

So you know all of the ways the enemy comes at you....
Well what are they?

Shall we ask our Father to give us bread and he gives us a stone? NO, our Father who love us wont do this. He gives us bread.

Lets explore this. He gives us what we ask Him.
The enemy, on the other hand, may give us stones when we ask him for bread. Because he hates us? He thinks its funny? So what do we learn, not to ask the enemy for anything. Is this right?

A lot depends on the kind of workplace do you have and the kind of work you do.

Many environments are dangerous.

Unauthorized people can be distracting to you or other workers.

Most of my jobs were in elevated security areas where visitors needed to be escorted around, or not allowed at all.

Much of this is not for the employee to second-guess. One of management's responsibilities is to set and enforce these policies.

I know that working for a hard suoervisor can get to anyone, but do not work against the interests of the organization he and you both serve.
 
I dont see how bringing my brother as a partner to an end of year work do thats open to the public (its not an exclusive party or anything) risks the business. Its not even on their premises because the business doesnt have any. It doesnt matter who you bring as a partner to things, that they object to my brother but not someone who I dont know as well is kind of weird.

I dont actually have to go either. My brother was like oh. When I told him he couldnt go. So I might not even turn up.
 
Have prayed about it and now know what to do, but yea the devil is behind one of the workers who actually used one of the female workers. Its like Judas, he betrayed Jesus with a kiss.

She could have had him up for sexual harassment, but she gave in, she no longer works there, but he tries to move on to me and another female co worker.
 
Just because the location is open to the public does not mean that the employees may entertain guests while working.

My younger son works in retail (actually to make ends meet, he works two jobs). My wife and I try to meet him for lunch or dinner fairly often, both to be with our son, and take on a small part of the cost of his meals.

We do not stand around his counter and talk to him. We usually wait in the parking lot and know that he has to finish helping his customers, or other assigned tasks and be told he may go to lunch before he comes out. This is a public area, but if he spent time talking with us, even if he continues his job, it would not present a favorable impression to the customers that walk by. His employers have a right to expect that he gives a favorable impression for the store.

But, you indicated that this was a “year end work do”. I would think that if guests were allowed, you could bring whomever you wished. The only caveat that I can see here is that if your boss and your companion already can't get along, (and can't be adult enough to grit their teeth and act cordially) it might be better not to aggravate the issue,

As for the part about harassment, if he is persistent, or if a single instance is egregious, this is a matter to be taken higher in the company (if there is anyone in higher authority).
