Can a Christian or a man that recently accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Saviour be possessed by demons/impure spirits? And any experience ...

The way I see it is this.;
If you was fully possessed by a demon, how would you know?
Anyway, there’s a lot of good posts on this subject, and it’s prompted me to respond with my experience.
I am harassed from time to time by the devil and his minions but not half as much nowadays, but I see Acceptance of Christ as a process. ( I often get derailed😞)
Befor, when I Was tempted I never spotted it until when it was too late, I suppose I never quite put on all the armour.
So yeh, I agree that’s there’s no such thing as a possessed Christian. Just a half dressed one,

Amen, Major! I agree with you on the second one. Its a Spiritual Battle.

So true, YeshuaFan, thank you for pointing Paul's battles.

You know, from witnessing Christians that are growing in their prayer life, reading the Word and learning how to discern God's purpose for them, I have heard them express that they are so tired of the false teaching of devil possession and conjured up ministries to confront them.

Our brother Peki posted this thread to stimulate discussion, all for good, and keeping an open heart by what others posted is also good. It blesses me to personally learn more of your views according to the Scriptures, and how we are one in Christ's Body as well as serving in the same Army of God.

1 Timothy 6:3-5, 3 If anyone teaches a different doctrine and does not agree with the sound words of our Lord Jesus Christ and the teaching that accords with godliness, 4 he is puffed up with conceit and understands nothing. He has an unhealthy craving for controversy and for quarrels about words, which produce envy, dissension, slander, evil suspicions, 5 and constant friction among people who are depraved in mind and deprived of the truth, imagining that godliness is a means of gain.

Merry Christmas, brothers and sisters.

I have said before that in my opinion, we have heard more about casting out demons, and possessions ever since Hollywood came out with Exorcism movies.

Monkey see.....monkey do.

I have been to many places all over this earth. I have seen some terrible things do by people. During missionary trips, I have seen some terrible people. I have witnessed witch doctors in Uganda and physic practioneners as well as voodoo services. in Central America. ALL of them were demonically motivated and Satan was behind ALL of them.

I have personally dealt with mentally disturbed people but I have never witnessed a demonic possession and exorcism and I am pretty sure I never will.

Never forget this fact.......:We ALL are tempted and oppressed by Satan and his demons all of our lives".

Now the key is this.....do YOU say to them as did Jesus, Satan, "It is Written"!......Get thee behind me!

Yes I still get tempted a lot. And when I catch it I don’t exactly say get behind me, but I do remember to stop!
Why does the bible say “ it is written” ?
I know it’s written I can read!!!

I am so glad you asked that question.

No matter what the question is or the problem we have in life, the answer is always IN THE WORD OF GOD.
That is why Jesus said......"It is written".

He was referring to the Old Test. He did not say....."I think or In my opinion or I believe we should do this or that".

He said that it is God who said this and that. He used the Word of God for His answer in dealing with Satan.

Hello Via;

When you make the statements, "I still get tempted a lot." and "I know it’s written I can read!!!" God hears our hearts and rests His case with each one of us.

"It is written" is because we do get tempted, we will always have to be reminded, however, the context of "It is written" is a positive meaning, He Loves Us, reminds us, and cautions us against temptation but also equips us.

In Matthew 4:4, 7 and 10 Jesus is rebuking Satan and teaching those of us who follow Him;

4 But he answered, “It is written, “‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.’”

7 Jesus said to him, “Again it is written, ‘You shall not put the Lord your God to the test.’”

10 Then Jesus said to him, “Be gone, Satan! For it is written, “‘You shall worship the Lord your God and him only shall you serve.’”

Of course we can read it for ourselves, but as we grow in our study, God fills each one of us the deeper meaning of His Word, for example, "It is written" allows us to confidently go forth and do what is written in our daily application for His glory.

Bringing it back to the verb of this topic, in Matthew 4:4, 7, 10 Jesus is teaching that we are empowered and equipped to rebuke Satan and God will complete the rest and bring us back to Him, no matter our circumstances.

God bless you and Merry Christmas.

The title pretty much says what I want to ask. Some people say that if you are have recently came to Jesus Christ that there might be some possession ongoing. What if you haven’t had water baptism done, does it make you more susceptible? Do you have to be baptised in water?

Has anyone on this forum ever had and experience where someone has had demons cast out of him?

Thanks

I am editing to ad the following question: Has anyone witnessed healing by laying of hands?

Thanks
No, as the Holy Spirit now indwells this temple, and he keeps others outside!

And yet many have a so called "deliverance ministry" based upon that being the truth!

THe word "Truth" is elusive to many people who do not read the Bible.

You see, when the Word of God is not accepted then it is easy for Satan to plant false ideas into the minds of those who have NO anchor in life to hold them secured.

You have to be really deluded to think that Christians can have demons cast out in church and shown by throwing them up into pails and buckets!

Interesting that even he being very God Himself used the scriptures!

Some people have failed to grasp the meaning of Colossians 1:16-17.........
"For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: 17And he is before all things, and by him all things consist."

The Greek construction here refers to "in him" or "through him." Creation, as described in the book of Genesis, took place by the power of Jesus the Son as well as the Father and Spirit (Genesis 1:1–3). This verse is Paul's effort to show the all-encompassing nature of Christ's creative power. It included absolutely everything imaginable: heaven, earth, visible, invisible. And, it included all living things, such as the angels and spiritual powers. Paul uses similar wording in Romans 8:37–39, referring to all possible aspects of creation. There, his intent is to show that nothing whatsoever can separate the believer from God's love.

Paul also adds that all things are made by Jesus, and they are also created through Jesus, and for Jesus. Since Jesus is God, all of reality is the result of His own power. Creation exists for His glory (John 17:24). Paul would use similar words in Romans 11:36, saying, "For from him and through him and to him are all things. To him be glory forever. Amen."

That then means that the Bible came into existence through Jesus Christ Himself giving the words to men to write down. Some will same it was the Holy Spirit but the Holy Spirit IS Jesus Christ and both are IN THE FATER!

Jesus used the Scriptures because He IS the Scriptures.
