lets look at the next word argue

  3. To give evidence of; indicate.
you see all 3 words fall into the same family or words. lots of times it depends on how one sees it / takes it

this is how Church conflicts start and many other conflicts.. a term i use kick over the Golden cow of religion.

we have all been there done that at one time or another. so often we all fail to take the Golden rule do unto others as you would have them do unto you.

just food for thought

Conflict is essential for growth and development. Without it we stagnate in a rut. Conflict comes in different forms.

Personal conflict is conflict within ourselves in which we confront our doubts and cognitive dissonance with the aim of resolving them with a positive outcome.

Interpersonal conflict is conflict between two or more individuals concerning the accomplishment of goals and objectives. Such conflicts can be handled healthily or unhealthily. Healthy conflict is characterized by mutual respect and positive outcomes. Unhealthy conflict sees flared tempers, disrespectful conduct, and possible physical violence.

Christian conflict should be characterized by love, patience, and brotherly kindness, never anger, wrath, pridefulness, and unkindness.

Just some more food for thought. God bless each of you.

James 3:13-18 ESV
Who is wise and understanding among you? By his good conduct let him show his works in the meekness of wisdom. [14] But if you have bitter jealousy and selfish ambition in your hearts, do not boast and be false to the truth. [15] This is not the wisdom that comes down from above, but is earthly, unspiritual, demonic. [16] For where jealousy and selfish ambition exist, there will be disorder and every vile practice. [17] But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, open to reason, full of mercy and good fruits, impartial and sincere. [18] And a harvest of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace.

Agreed. Ya know, it is not so much what we say to each other, but how we say it. When we speak to others without respect for the other person it always comes across as contempt which is easily seen.

The lesson most of us fail to learn is that Even if we believe we are right, if our actions and words will cause another believer to falter spiritually, we are to stop what we are doing. And weak or less mature believers who have strong convictions in an area must avoid restricting or judging those who have discovered Christian freedom.

A truer statement has never been said other than yours of...............
"Christian conflict should be characterized by love, patience, and brotherly kindness, never anger, wrath, pridefulness, and unkindness."!

This is important, perhaps even more important here, on the forum, than in daily life.

This is because we don't have the visual or auditory cues to guide us in our interpretations.

How we read and interpret a post is how we hear it in our own heads, which may or may not reflect the tone or attitude of the sender.

Consequently, an extra effort should be made to be kind and generous in our discussions, to error on the side of generosity if there is an error to be made.

Great topic forgiven61
