Does God Speak Today to His People?

There are those who would say that this is sheer coincidence, others that it's genuine.

What say you...other than that this is a false story?

 
Hmmmm,
I know God's ways are far beyond our finite thinking.
I know too the word records supernatural acts that no human nor science can explain.
His word tells us to have FAITH like a grain of a mustard seed, that becomes like a great tree. Faith and prayer can cause things that leave us speechless...............

God bless you and thank you for sharing this short video. It should give us pause and think of when God speaks to us today.

The young man shared a nice story but it doesn't sink in with me. Perhaps this will give him hits on his tik tok account.

The story of the woman who attended a prayer group and then tells God she'll do anything He tells her for the next 30 days. God tells her to stand on her head at a 7-11 while an employee in the bathroom is crying to God, that unless there is someone out there standing on their head, she is going to kill herself.

Unless we have the anointing of the prophets Ezekiel or Zachariah, when God speaks it's always His Will be done and our obedience to Him on His terms.

First, we don't bargain with God and give him a limited time of 30 days in an act of obedience. Second, we don't bargain with God saying, unless you do this I'm going to do that to myself.

When we hear incredible testimonies from believers and non-believer’s about when God speaks, they may describe a loud voice, trumpets blowing, thunder and lightning, or His angels appear associated with hearing God. These testimonies can happen, but we need to be very careful with these kinds of impressions or we will miss when God is actually speaking to us.

1 Corinthians 2:11, 11 For who knows a person’s thoughts except their own spirit within them? In the same way no one knows the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God.

bobinfaith has articulated my feelings probably better than I could.

Perhaps this is irreverent, but strictly from a PR standpoint, this seems like a bad precedent for the Almighty to set.
I am just a neophyte here, but the of idea of successfully holding oneself hostage to manipulate YHVH is something most likely hatched in the “tempter’s office.

You make an excellent point, and one that we all must be careful with. How many times have we all believed "it must come from God" misleading us in our growing faith?

I'm not really a you-tube watcher I'm sorry, whenever someone posts something and says you have to watch this silly you-tube video its crazy insane, I'm like..do I have to?

Besides, where do you find them if not hunting round you-tube every day. Just more publicity for crazy people?
I know people seem not to have much time, but maybe recommend a book to read rather than a you tube video and I'll give it a go.

Well if by His people you mean...believers, it's going to be when did you last heard from Him, He often doesn't speak to everyone all at once at the same time. He might tell Peter this and John something else.

Yes, God still speaks to "His people." God is sovereign and omnipresent, therefore He can speak to His people all at once and at the same time with a separate message for each.

Our Creator of the universe is God who speaks in unlimited forms depending on His Will and Purpose with humankind. His message to us can be through others as well as through us.

John 10:4, 4 When he has brought out all his own, he goes before them, and the sheep follow him, for they know his voice.

John 10:27, 27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.

God speaks to us through His Son and the Holy Spirit.

Hebrews 1:1-2a, 1 Long ago, at many times and in many ways, God spoke to our fathers by the prophets, 2 but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son,

Agree with the above, Bob. Lanolin, there are those out there who teach strange, new doctrines they claim to have gotten from God, which we know are false. As they say, "The Canon is closed." In other words, the Bible presents all the relevant doctrines for mankind in one book, and the Lord is not revealing any new doctrines for us to learn and obey. The Lord speaks to individuals in varying ways of His Sovereign choosing, but we have the Bible by which we can test any and all messages we are told allegedly came from the Lord.

It's one thing to be told to "Turn here," or "Talk to that man over there," or, "Stay out of that area," but quite another to hear such nonsense, from overly wealthy and false teaching TV preachers, of Jesus allegedly having died a spiritual death, chained to the floor of Hell, and tortured for those three days after the cross. That simply is not in scripture, and actually contradicts what we ARE told about Yahshua's work, especially when He said on the cross, "It is FINISHED!"

Just thinking about all the denominations and religions that call themselves 'The Church" and other various pronouns out there that are STILL evolving in doctrines....sort of makes my head sore. They have gods that obviously are not stable and able.

This reminds me of a person named Peter Popoff who gives away miracle spring water, not only on YouTube but on cable tv. He was exposed, went away for a few years and then made a comeback to a new audience. He claimed God originally "spoke to him" over 30 years ago, and would bless others who receive this water.

The lies this guy promotes are one on top of the other if you do the research. I don't have the time nor interest to be entertained by this made very rich false wolf.
 
This discussion make me want to ask this question.
How long should a believer sit under a continually man made preacher or teacher before vacating their place?
Most churches are run by corporations, and often if a problem is exposed to them in their churches, they just move the problem on and send a replacement.
This is not according to bible standards in keeping wolves out, misguided teachers, ect. nor correcting one another.
To them it's about the bottom line not souls
 
It should first be determined if the preacher or teacher is one of God’s own choosing.(1Cor 12:28); if not, why wait?

[20] To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.

oh well thats something else altogether, another gospel.
Just contend for the faith that was ONCE delivered for ALL saints.

We know Jesus didn't die a spiritual death - he died physically and his spirit was commended to his Father.
It was his blood that paid for our sins. His body was taken to be buried in a tomb. He rose again on the third day.

Jesus was tortured BEFORE he died on the cross, he was given 40 lashes, mocked and spat on. And his dying took 3 hours.

Sadly, those out there who are on TV and very wealthy, they have nothing else they can do to draw people in with itching ears and who want a 'show' to entertain them and give them that emotional high presumed to be spiritual. Many of the TV personalities MUST make up fantastic stories as doctrines to draw in the lukewarm and emotional dupes who don't know their Bibles. What is given to them by way of money is a sort of tax on the spiritually gullible, just like lotteries are a tax on the mathematically challenged.

Well, if you spend too much time watching youtube or tv thats just what you get isn't it? Its nothing new.
So why pay them any attention.
 
Yes I believe God still speaks to us today,
through his word and through his Spirit .

I would also remind us not to be brash when we speak to him, let it not be in foolishness.

Gideon used a fleece to verify or confirm that it was the Lord speaking to him before battle.

I have heard many ppl ppray, Lord if you'll just get me out of this I'll...........................................

That's what I see above in the video.
