God's Love

Someone asked me, "How can a loving God send someone to hell?"

That question is not an uncommon one, and has been asked for centuries.

After much thought, I arrived at something of an answer, which at first glance might appear cynical, but it's not intended to be.

I asked myself, "What would it be like for be an unconverted person, complete with a sin nature, to reside in Heaven?"

I can't think of someone in that situation being in a more miserable condition, wanting to sin and being in an environment where such a thing is impossible. Such a person could never be happy in Heaven.

Granted happiness in Hell would also be impossible, but there I believe the person might have an outlet for the sin nature.

God's love doesn't allow the unregenerate into Heaven, not out of malice, but out of love, to spare them the misery of being eternally out of place.

I had the same question asked by unbelievers. I answered that God does not send people to hell, they choose it for themselves. How cruel would it be for God to force someone to live in His kingdom, when throughout their entire life they had been rejecting Him.

I have heard this question asked many times... I have heard people TURN from GOD out of anger for various reasons. God allowing sickness and suffering is another BIG QUESTION.

Hell is a place of choice in my opinion.... and IF someone I love is NOT in heaven... it will be because of their CHOICE.

GOD is RIGHTEOUS and HE is JUST... I hope that my loved ones will be in heaven... however... IF they are not... it was because of their CHOICE.
I believe I will understand that ONCE I arrive in heaven and that it's not even going to be an issue.

The above probably ALSO sounds harsh and cynical ( which is not my intent ). The bottom line is DO YOU TRUST GOD?
GOD does NOT make mistakes.

I posted this a few days ago on Facebook. We're doing a topical study on hell this Sunday in Sunday School.

"All those who want to go to heaven aren't going”. It's a popular saying. It's a sad statement, but true. I've wanted to go to heaven my whole life, almost all do, I imagine. But only within the last couple of years have I made the proper reservation.

What was I expecting before then? To die, go to heaven, and suddenly start worshiping God? What would have been the reason for my worship? What basis? Grace? Mercy? Knowing the definition of these words but actually experiencing them are two vastly different things.

Did I honestly think I would have felt at HOME? No, I would have been as unhappy there as I was here. Even IF all went as I hoped, standing before Jesus would have been the moment I knew I definitely didn't belong. What could He have said but, “I don't know you”.

Yes sir. I have probably been asked question more than any other question.

I learned a long time ago that that is a "learned" question. No one thinks it up, they have just heard it said, they like their sin they live in and that question allow them to feel good about their NO choice for Jesus.

Hell is a place of darkness, deep regret, and hopelessness where everyone there knows that they are there by their own volition by insisting upon rejecting God until he finally rejected them. Their punishment is an eternity of anguish and regret on scale unimaginable by us here today.

I wonder why someone who doesn't believe in God, would want to spend eternity with Him. Hell will be a continuation of being separated from Him... only worse.
