Hello and many blessing from Schenectady, New York

Allow me to introduce myself.

My name is Dawn and I was born in the wee early hours of the morning, hense the name - risingsun. I was married at 21, had 4 boys by the time I was 30 and now I am a grandmother to a 2 year old girl. The one blessing I have is that all of my children are saved.

In 1994, I became a child of God, but several years ago things changed in my life and I ended up ignoring that fact, but my children have been praying for me. That prayer is working, because it is what is driving that new hunger in me.

I used to live in the Western part of New York, but I moved back to my hometown a year ago. Recently, I began to search God out again. I am not where I want to be yet, but I am working on it...that's how I ended up here. I need to start "hanging out" with fellow brothers and sisters, instead of the "riff raff" I was "hanging with". I want to do what is good and right so that I can be a good example to my grandchild and any future grandchildren.

One question I have at the moment is: Would as many of you as possible, please share a bible verse that will encourage me and help me to walk the straight and narrow path? I would greatly appreciate it. :)

Thanking you all in advance.

WELCOME!!!
Risingsun!

Schenectady,
I have always wondered how that was spelled.
Thank you for the clarification!

Would as many of you as possible, please share a bible verse that will encourage me and help me to walk the straight and narrow path?
All that comes to mind at the moment is "Arkansas" :D

"Noah looked out of the window of the "ARK-AND-SAW" land.

I will try to do better in the future.

God Bless you, and Welcome to the forum!

Proverbs 3:4-6

4 Then you will win favor and a good name
in the sight of God and man.
5 Trust in the LORD with all your heart
and lean not on your own understanding;
6 in all your ways acknowledge him,
and he will make your paths straight

Welcome Rising Sun! Good to have you have you here......Many Blessings and may God continue to draw you nearer.

Psalms 84:9-12

9 Behold, O God our shield, and look upon the face of thine anointed.

10 For a day in thy courts is better than a thousand. I had rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God, than to dwell in the tents of wickedness.

11 For the LORD God is a sun and shield: the LORD will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly.

12 O LORD of hosts, blessed is the man that trusteth in thee.

Hi Dawn, welcome to the forum.

"Would as many of you as possible, please share a bible verse that will encourage me and help me to walk the straight and narrow path?"

I'd suggest the bit in between Genesis 1:1 and Revelation 22:21 :)

For specific passages, try Romans 8:28-39; Ephesians 2:6-10; Philippians 2:1-11; Colossians 2:6-15; Isaiah 54:17.

blessings,

Lynn

Thank you so much for your responses and for the verses you suggested. Since I am here before work, I will have to wait until I get home this evening to read them all.

Just like my aunt tells me everyday....have a great and blessed day!
:)
