Is Anyone Celebrating Passover?

Of course what we eat is not a direct sin. I get what you're saying. The thing is, when we eat unhealthy it makes us less productive, and how are we honoring God in such a manner? The most important commandment is to love God with all our mind heart soul and body. If you eat chickens that are not happy, when you could be eating happy chickens, how does that honor God with your body?

Well we eat what we can get..and we are thankful and bless the food. God responds and gives health and life according to His promises and His Spirit..not according to happy the chicken was..

You can bless bleach all you want before you drink it, but I don't think God will give health through it.

Christmas is about getting things. Things things things.

Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, love for the Father is not in them.
Well maybe it is to you? maybe its about giving to others? and about a lot of good things like spending time with those we love.

Why do you want to mistreat chickens so badly. You kind of remind me of that guy that punched a donkey in the Bible.

Cool, let's celebrate Halloween in the name of Christ too :)
I personally have always been against churches celebrating a Halloween equivalent only for the reason that it is an issue of purity in my mind. Why do believers want to raise their children to have to have worldly equivalents? I never took my children to any of those type of events when growing up except once. My children already knew the difference and God wanted me to go to talk with people for the sake of them. I went with my kids, but they already had opinions on the subject. However, I personally am against someone who is a believer acting in a movie where they are kissing someone who is not their spouse. Probably most think this is too extreme, but I don't. I agree with you in the sense that for me it is a purity issue. However, I do agree that Romans 14 discusses this and we can't call going to Easter egg hunt a sin. Sweet pea, personally I wouldn't do it only for the fact that you want your kids to do things not because of the culture, but rather only because they are swayed by God. Nevertheless, I wouldn't say that it is never God's will for you to go. You may be needed for another purpose, so I think praying and getting God's advice for your personal situation is best. Also, it sounds like your kids are already older, so maybe discussing the issue with them is the best thing since they probably already have opinions about it. A lot of it has to to with how we see it in this case.

I know I might be the only one on this site who holds this opinion, but I am against movies depicting Jesus. I know a lot of people would say many get saved from them, but from a purity standpoint for me (and I already know all the idolatry/image arguments) I still believe it to be a type of imagery of God. Although all of us are in Christ, none of us are the full Christ and to me it is disrespect for any one person to sufficiently think that they can in any way truly depict God. I would rather have everyone think I am looney however, than sacrifice the standard of purity that I feel from God's Spirit and for me it would be a sin to watch the movie since I would be partaking in something that I believe is impurity related to God. If I was a man my respect for God would be too great to think that I could ever depict him. Also, many worship the image. The image is sold everywhere. And the movies portray the image.

Very interesting perspective Olivia. Thanks for sharing.

I love chickens...but they are just chickens and don't have the rights and care God intended for mankind....Now in Cal.. fairyland...they are items of worship...like some worship cows in India.
