Um. Sorry I failed logic 101. I have no idea what you talking about.
As I understand it, St. John says:
7 Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. 8 He who does not love does not know God, for God is love.
The statement mention in post# 57 "If you do not love you not a Christian"
I think that may not be a valid derivative from St. John statement.....
...the most I can assume is at least described in verse 20.
1 John 4:20-21New King James Version (NKJV)
20 If someone says, “I love God,” and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen, how can[a] he love God whom he has not seen? 21 And this commandment we have from Him: that he who loves God must love his brother also.
But if you do have scriptures on love its all good.
Matthew 22:35-40New King James Version (NKJV)
35 Then one of them, a lawyer, asked Him a question, testing Him, and saying, 36 “Teacher, which is the great commandment in the law?”
37 Jesus said to him, “‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’[a] 38 This is the first and great commandment. 39 And the second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’[b] 40 On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets.”
just a thought on the topic....combining John and Matthew : )
if one does not follow no. 2, how can one follow no. 1
