Deer cameras are great. They're camouflaged and attach to trees in the yard or near the house door, and are motion activated. They're not obvious either.

I'd not heard of them. They look interesting.

We are thinking of putting a camera outside to keep view the wildlife (we've got a hedgehog visiting atm btw) and I guess I could consider something like the deer cameras. I think something I can move around is likely to be my first choice though and I suspect I'll probably end up going for something like this Hikvision DS-2CD2712F.

I'm not sure if I'll get round to doing it this year (satellite TV mostly for my father was my project for this year) and I've still got to find out which devices will work with Linux and, at a guess, ZoneMinder.
