This is my thought on this. We come up with all this by defining God within the limitation of human mind. Either we go to the extreme to say God does not have control over our lives because he gave us free will. Or God knows everything and is in control of everything to excuse ourselves from personal responsibility. The middle ground is, God is in control and knows everything and brings everything to pass. Man has personal responsibility. How these two work together.. Let's talk about in heaven :) because we will not get the answer in this side of life :)

note "MAY" is not "WILL" ..
so even if you were to apply that verse to those other then whom He was specifically speaking .. your premise is NOT a guarantee as written ..

As far as I was concerned my very first post closed this thread. Wasn't allie the one that started it? Where is allie and what are you doing here other than trying to teach a false doctrine by irrelevant context?

Your "treatise''? What is the number? I will look at it and if there is a biblical point I will address it. But throwing a big ungodly fit...makes me doubt you have any ability to make a real "treatise" :LOL:

You seem desperate that others would approve you? I cannot do that if your doctrine is in error.

ok .. I checked the Greek on this and it translates as:
hina menō = that remain

so putting it in contexts, it states:
If ye love me, keep my commandments AND I WILL PRAY .. hina menō = that remain

so we have Jesus putting the condition of the "keeping His Commandments" on it ..

John 14:14 & 15 are ONE sentence ..

whom with the 12 Prophets are the 24 Elders (upon who laid the foundation Eph 2:20) who are given thrones ..

actually if you read my last post .. you will see the verse starts with "AND" (kai) .. meaning the two verse are the same sentence .. thus a condition applied ..

Yes sir, as was I even at a very young age. But as I began to see what was happening and experienced the real events it became clear that way to many people were forcing themselves to speak or be healed. Then as I grew in knowledge I was able to decide for myself what was real and what was faked.

The signs and wonders theology opens the door for the worst in men to be seen and exposed, and people being people, someone always has to do something better or have a better experience or speak in more tongues. It seems to me that it was more of a competition than it was worship. Now that is just me and my observation and I have already given the Bible verses to support my thinking.

I will not argue with anyone over it. If you want to do those things, it does not bother me and because I don't it should not bother anyone.

Just because a person is performing signs and wonders, we cannot go behind him and seek after signs.. I think it is talking about people being deceived into believing what Christian faith means.. There are many today who seek after signs.. And if signs are not there, then it is not genuine.. That is a dangerous thing.. They are living in this earth thinking they are saved.. But Jesus is saying, what they do really does not matter.. Because false signs could be done through evil force as well..
