As for my personal thoughts on it.. I believe that generally speaking, we humans are pretty selfish, wasteful, and greedy... and we have a talent of being able to mess up anything! As for lack of oil, it may or may not happen during our time here, but if it does, we are to do the best we can as we are able, and to trust God. We are not to allow ourselves to live in fear or anxiety of anything.

I did this permaculture course last year...they were all going on about it the oild crisis as if it was the end of the world and had various apocalyptic scenarios. It was like 'panic stations' and urging everyone to power down and possibly move away go homesteading and live like the Amish. Its ok if you are a hipster generation and got the resources to do so. But thats not living by faith. Thats trying to be self sufficient.
But a christian who knows the creator of the universe - God, can just trust that whatever He put on this earth for His glory will be used for His purposes. We dont need to worry and fret. We can be good stewards of whatever He has given us. We dont need to be self-sufficient. We need to be God-sufficient. His grace is enough.

In my personal view, God does not control us. God gave us the gift of choice and then it is up to us to make the right choices but He has given us guidance and suggestions and then again it is up to us to make the right choices.

A total of 102,000 new passenger PEVs were registered last month, up 130% year over year. Yes, that was just December, and it pulled the year-to-date count to over 600,000 units, up 71% compared to 2016.
As consequence of this rapid growth, in December, the PEV share hit a record 3.3% market share of the entire Chinese auto market, while the entire 2017 PEV market share ended at 2.1%. That’s firmly ahead of last year’s score (1.5%) and above the USA (1.2%) and Europe (~1.9%).
The Chinese PEV market represented roughly half of the 1.2 million plug-ins sold worldwide in 2017, while Chinese carmakers made 47% of all PEVs sold last year.

Um ok, what your posts doesnt belong here, when you talk about being a great leader what do you mean. The only great leader is Lord of Lord and King of Kings Jesus Christ.
He is King of Kings over all the earth. I dont know your countries policies. But it is up to YOU personally to make the right choices even if your king (or president) makes a wrong one.

Now who do we look for as our hope and salvation - Jesus. We have a NEW covenant and a better promise. In revelation, guess what happens to Babylon? Its destroyed in one day. All the merchants and people who benefited by the trade and riches will mourn.

Two technological issues have arisen since 2010
Shale oil and gas which has added maybe 30+ years to the idea of peak oil
Better extraction techniques. Oil fields that you could only extract 50% of the oil from are now expected to
get 70%+
More oil reserves when oil is at a higher price are now viable like Canada tar sands.
The issue is now not so much oil and gas but green house gases and the switch to clean energy sources
which will reduce the reliance on oil. This should mean oil last longer as we use less of it.
So in 2010 the idea of peak oil in 2016 looked real, with a crisis by 2020.
Things now look very different. The usa is now a global exporter of oil and gas, and Saudie dominance in
now being changed.
