Hi Major,
Could you elaborate a little deeper here and make it a little more clear what you wanted me to get from this?

  • Disclaimer if the word You is used it is used as a general term such as anybody and not Directed to any one said person.

See sir the problem stems from how members interact one with another with discussions on certain topics.
So eventually it comes down to either having to baby sit far too many threads and sort through the Offensive replies and discuss the appropriate action to take or simply head it off at the pass and ban the topic.

So one must try to understand that cfs policies on banned topics are Not from choices that the administration simply decides on But How Members Interact with each other on certain topics in the open forum.

Moral of this story would be....for members tooooooooo
Stop Arguing and Getting Rude and taking the stand that your thoughts are the only correct ones with certain topics.......see it is the members who bring the bans on certain topics not the staff.

Bottom line my friend is it is just as hard on me or any of us when it comes to trying to discuss things without discussing some things.

Have a great day my Brother
Blessings

"You" here was used as a general term to speak to the staff of moderators and not you personally. I know what you are doing and you are doing it very well by the way.

I know exactly what you are saying about people and I am just saddened that we do not seem to be able to discuss the deeper things of God's Word without such anger and jealousy clouding our discussions.

I was just thinking out loud wishing that there was some way to rectify this tragedy.

Jim. I hate to say this but even "Skeptics Forums" discuss the deeper things of theology that we are permitted from doing. I am not complaining, just stating the facts.

I know that the banned topics lead to confrontations and anger. But it seems to me that those times could be administered to by the moderators as they come up. When a confrontation appears it could be then that the topic is closed or other measures taken if the responders can not control themselves.
Yes that would make the moderators job more challenging but insn't that what they are for?

My concern is that there are so many believers that simply do not know what they believe or why they believe it. They hear a man give his opinion and then they base their theology on that opinion instead of the Word of God.
It just seems to me that there should be a way to get the Word of God to those people instead of saying
"We do not talk about those things because they are to sensitive".

When an Ostrich sticks his head in the sand to get away from the Tiger chasing him, all that happens is the Tiger doesn't have to run him down to eat him. The point is that the Ostrich does not get away by ignoring the challenge.
Hi Major that was strange.
When I first replied to this all I got was the first paragraph.
So me entire reply was based from the very first paragraph.

Either there was a hick up in the system or you are the fastest replyer.

Well I promise you that I am not fast. Computers are sometimes like dogs. They just do what they want to do because they can do what they want to do.

Now that I have had time to think about that. It would also apply to my wife.

Major I do understand very much and perhaps in the upcoming days there could be some changes made.

I put the little disclaimer in simply because "some" members skim through things and then falsely accuse others of coming against them or some one else.

I thank you Major for your kind words and as I learn more and more I simply enjoy keeping peace , serving and trying to make sure that when some one comes here to cfs, well they don't leaving wondering why they even bothered ....

No thanks. She and the dog pretty much run my life. 50 years of marriage will do that Jim. They both do what they want to do when they want to do it.

Yes man has free will and often we us it, wether for good or evil.
IMO we can not resist Satan until we submit ourselves to the Lord Jesus Christ. That must be the case Biblically because we were once lost and children of Satan and had no desire to resist that which we followed.

Ephesians 2:1-5..............
"And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins; Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience: Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others. But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)."[/QUOTE]
You still have to choice to serve God. Ephesians is talking about our condition before we received the glad tidings of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Many today are still walking in the flesh, they are called carnal Christians. We must choice to yield to the Spirit of God. God will not go against man's will.

But we will still have to submit to the leading of the Holy Spirit. Ephesians 2:1-5 here Paul is remaining those that have received the Gospel of Jesus Christ, who they where before they received the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ. But man has a free will. We choose to submit to God or not, for the scripture say's "submit therefore to God, resist the devil and he will flee." The key word is "submit", one must submit his/her will unto God. God will never go against your will is what I was saying.

James 4:7
Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
8. Come close to God, and God will come close to you. Wash your hands, you sinners; purify your hearts, for your loyalty is divided between God and the world.

This is so very true Jacqueline Gordon

People tend to just use the resist without first walking upright and all the resisting in the world will do nothing.

Amen brother, amen. It seems to me that there is a process here 1. Submit yourself 2. Resist the devil ( you must be willing to resist) 3. Come close to God. I will post it in the Amplified Bible which reads: James 4: 6-9 AMP
"But He gives us more and more grace (power of the Holy Spirit, to meet this evil tendency and all others fully). That is why He says, God sets Himself against the proud and haughty, but gives grace [continually] to the lowly (those who are humble enough to receive it). So be subject to God. Resist the devil [stand firm against him], and he will flee from you. Come close to God and He will come close to you. [Recognize that you are] sinners, get your soiled hands clean; [realize that you have been disloyal] wavering individuals with divided interests, and purify your hearts [of your spiritual adultery]." (James 4:6-8 AMP)

If we learn to read the topic which is "Our mortal enemy has deceived the church with many lies", the key words here is "with many lies". Samuels goes on to list first who the enemy is and then he list the lie's and give the scripture verse. He just didn't pin point one thing. So can we discuss the scriptures he gave and stay on point? God is not a God of confusion.

Amen!
Far to many believers do not truly know what resisting the devil really is.
If you try to resist intellectually with the devil, well you are already defeated.

Ok, man was given free will. We choose to be obedient to the Word of God or disobey it.
If we have free will then the fall was partial not complete. Yes, man (Adam) was given free will but when he fell he fell completely. In other words his will, being part of him fell too.

I understand. What I am saying is that submission to God can only come after we are saved BY God.

Notice in Ephesians 2:2 ....."We all conducted ourselves". He is speaking to the Jews.
Now notice verse 3.............."Ye is referring to the Gentiles.

In other words, the Jews were no better than the Gentiles and that is because both groups were at some point lost and foillowing the devil and not God.

1 Thess. 5:9..........
"For God has not destined us for wrath, but to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ".
I really thought pretty much every serious believer knows
"the wrath of God" comes upon the earth on the last day
... when Jesus reveals Himself @ His second coming.
(Some will be raptured just before this.)

Is there anything anywhere about the wrath of the antichrist?

Dear Samuels. I thank God that you are a serious believer. We can now discuss this on your higher level of understanding.

Nah. 1:3...........
"The Lord is slow to anger and great in power; the Lord will not leave the guilty unpunished. "

Jer. 30:11......
I will discipline you but only with justice; I will not let you go entirely unpunished."

Now the question is.......Are you guiltily????

Speaking of the "Wrath of God", If you will do the work you will see that of the 499 times that God showed wrath in the OT, he shows it against his people 448 times after the Law of Moses was thundered down on Mt. Sinai, beginning in Ex. 19.

On his chosen people before the law and covenant in Ex. 19, he showed it 3 times. Abraham potentially could have experienced it twice, but did not because God through his angels showed him mercy in Gen. 18:30-32.. So actually it was used only once against Moses, the lawgiver, and that is seen in Ex. 4:14.

What does this mean to us today???? Now what about his people in the New Covenant?

One of the goals of Romans is to teach us how to avoid the wrath to come. The way out is through the gospel by faith in Christ.

Rom. 1:17...........
“For in the gospel a righteousness from God is revealed, a righteousness that is by faith from first to last, just as it is written: ‘The righteous will live by faith’”.

Then we are set free from God’s wrath.

Rom. 5:9..............
“Since we have now been justified by his blood, how much more shall we be saved from God’s wrath through him!”.

How much clearer could God have said that. We who are saved are delivered from the coming wrath of God hence again the question....Are You guilty?????

You see, for Paul, and for all peoples, Jew and Gentile, should come to faith in Christ and walk in the Spirit within the New Covenant, which Christ paid for and ratified with his blood, His death and His resurrection.

Gal. 5:18 says that................
" But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law. …".

Then Gal. 5:22-23 says........
"But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, and self-control. Against such things there is no law.
So in the New Covenant, God has not destined his Spirit-filled, blood-bought church for his wrath.

His wrath then is tied to eschatology, which means a shift towards the new era of salvation that came with Christ’s death, resurrection and glorification and the outpouring of his Spirit at Pentecost. Eschatology also means a movement towards the Last Days. It is in this context that his New Covenant community and church (the same thing) is not destined for wrath.

The Bible over and over tells us that the wrath Of God is to be for the wicked unsaved of the world and not the children of God. Remember, wrath means judgment against injustice, wrongdoing, and sin

1 Thess. 1:9-10..............
"Jesus … rescues us from the coming wrath. "

1 Thess. 5:9.......
"For God did not appoint us to suffer wrath but to receive salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ."

Samuels, please notice what the Bible says and not what I say or what you think.

Rom. 2:5-8........
But because of your stubbornness and your unrepentant heart, you are storing up wrath [orgê] against yourself for the day of God’s wrath [orgê], when his righteous judgment will be revealed. 6 God “will give to each person according to what he has done.” 7 To those who by persistence in doing good seek glory, honor and immortality, he will give eternal life. 8 But for those who are self-seeking and who reject the truth and follow evil, there will be wrath [orgê] and anger [thumos]. "

This has gone unanswered.
