Roman 7 Part 4

Hi Jim,

Yes, but that can only be done by the 'reckoning' of faith, can't it, Jim? Reckoning the old man to be indeed crucified with Christ, and rising up and walking in the light of the presence of God, in Christ Jesus.

Noblemen is reckoning on, and believing what God has said concerning the Old man, that he was crucified with Christ, by God's 'reckoning'. Which fact, transcends 'sight' and 'experience', and simply believes and walks by faith.

'Sight', demands that we acknowledge the two natures that reside in the believer, and so does 'experience', for it sees and experiences the conflict they bring, but faith, though not ignorant of their existence within, chooses to walk by faith in the light of God's reckoning. As a partaker of the new nature, and complete in Christ.

Praise His Name!

In Christ Jesus
Chris
Amen. We walk by faith and not by sight. When we walk by faith, the sin nature has no power over us. But we still have sight. This entails our vision, fleshly reasoning, carnal reality of the world in which we live and are to do our good works in. As you said 'experience'. As Paul wrote, otherwise we would have to leave this world, meaning as long as we are here, we will be tempted and influenced by the inevitable intrusions by this world.
Keep the faith.

We have agreed on this point Jim. A couple of times now. The key verse in Romans 6 is verse 7.....
"For he that is dead is freed from sin".

That however in no way means that the "sin nature or flesh" has been destroyed as Nobleman has stipulated.
It means as you have stated and I agree as well as Chris that we are no longer condemned by our sins, for the shed blood of Jesus has cleansed us from our old ways and granted us justification from our sin debt. Consequently.

We are instructed to live a new life, which can be beautiful as we live in obedience to God's will, and that obedience will give us joy and peace!

Paul writes in I Corinthians 9:26-27..........
"I therefore run, not as uncertainly; so fight I, not as one that beateth the air: But I keep under my body and bring it into subjection;..".

Now WHY would Paul say that???? He realized that while serving the Lord, he was experiencing a battle between his flesh (old sin nature) and his spirit, that is why the Holy Spirit inspired Paul to write so much scripture based upon our necessity to "fight the good fight of faith" as seen in I Tim. 6:12.

Every single day we all must realize that Satan will by all means do all he can to set stumbling blocks in our way of
victory in Jesus. Yes, we surly do have victory in Jesus, but that does not mean there is no battle. Our flesh is very real, and
Satan will do all He can to feed into our fleshly lusts, whether our weakness is covetousness, lying, pornography, hate, or a
multitude of other sins.

Yes, our old man is crucified with Christ, but that does not mean our flesh dies, that is our duty. The Holy Spirit will strengthen us in this battle, but we must be submissive and obedient and faithful to God as Chris pointed out.

I Peter 2:11 says...........
"Dearly beloved, I beseech you as strangers and pilgrims' abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul".

Major, Major, Major
The flesh dies as much as we desire it too. Take a group of Christians, some will fall and stumble in the same things over and over and some will not ever grow strong enough to resist temptastion to something God set them free from. HOWEVER there are those who will and do put in the time and energy it takes to renew the mind and build the spirit to the point where the flesh is not ever a problem again. This is how we all should be.

We can make excuses all day how this sin nature wont be small or gone until we are home with God. That is the lazy way out. Why do some men after being in Christ for 50 years still struggle with lusting over pretty women ? Why do some not even have to deal with this junk? None of us have to. This was taken care of at the cross. We however have to grasp this and do something about it.

The old man has lost his power over us - NEXT POINT IS SIMPLY THIS - who gets the most attention and fed more - the spirit man or the flesh or old nature ? If you are not feeding the Spirit man daily and keepingh His word in your eyes and mouth and heart 24/7/365 then you are feeding the old man and starving the Spirit man.

Those who starve the spirit man sdtruggler with the old man - those who starve the old nature and feed the spirit man RISE ABOVE this old nature. Brother it is our choice, it alweays has been and alweays will be.

God Bless
Jim

God bless you Jim. I have gone about as far as I can with this. I have stated the Scriptures and say again that the Old Nature of sin can never be eradicated. It will be with each one of us until the Rapture or death. If you believe positive thinking can be of help to you then amen and amen. I am not talking about feeding anything. YES, as I have stated now about 4 times, it is about choices.

You can have the last word on this.

I dont want the last word but I want Gods word to be first and last.
See thats the problem - you have to feed the spirit man or the flesh man or old sin nature will be strongest in a person.

It aint about positive thinking MaJor it's about Jesus and what He did and what the word of God says. It is not if the old sin nature will be here or there - It is and always will be - what have you done about it.

God did His part through Christ Jesus - if we do not do anything then it was done for nothing but if we follow the way God said to live and do what God said to do then this sin nature has NO HOLD OR EFFECT ON US.

You are pushing the fact that it was said that we will always have this gap or battle or what ever you want to call it between the spirit man and the old man. I am saying that this does not have to be a problem - a battle - or anything else you have to deal with - IF you follow the way God said to live by keeping His word in your eyes and mouth and actions.

Think on it this way Brother Major - we are told this about the constant battle between the flesh or old sin nature or old man or old ways of thinking and doing AND WALKING IN THE SPIRIT. Perhaps you could turn the glass over and see it half full and what I mean is this is telling us once again or backing up that we NEED to keep Gods word in our eyes and mouth and actions 24/7/365

You can not keep the sin nature at bay if you dont get in His word daily. You wont walk in the Spirit and not have to deal with this old nature if you are not doing what His word says to do. He told us how to live and He told us what we can have if we do. He showed us the things we will battle if we dont.

When God says the Blood of Jesus Broke that strong hold - then brother it is broke but one can choose to bow to it or allow it to be a constant battle.

Again I do not want the last word - HOWEVER this bowing down to - oh we will always have this sin nature in us and have to battle it - is Hog Wosh. The power of it was destroyed. Do you not see this brother - the power of sin over us was destroyed - We still have to do our part each and every day in order to walk in this life as such BUT to keep dwelling on oh it will always be in us is not a successful Christian walk Brother.

I am done being told I have to live defeated or under the yoke of sin and death when Jesus already DESTROYED it clean out of existernce. No scripturtes says we have to.

Any way Major please remember there is NO attacks or digs or what ever people do in forums to you or any one or at you or meant to come at you with no respect.
I value going back and forth with you for we all can learn from one another and I value the truth you bring to the table. Always have and always will.

May your week end be full of Love and Peace and some good laughs as well
God Bless You My Friend and Brotyher
Jim

@Complete @Major

I understand what both of you are saying. I do not disregard what is said.
Now then Major and Chris - Lets ask our selves why the Holy Spirit saw fit to include what was said about the sin nature or old man or old nature or way of doing things will always be there or against the Spirit man.

It was recorded in order to remind us - educate us - equip us in order to live a victorious life in Christ. It was not written to say we will always need to struggle against this nor was it written to say we will always be sinners or sin or fall under the weight of sin.

Gods entire word is written so as if we follow His word and ways of doing things we can live a prosperous life. ( STOP...) DO NOT BRING MONEY INTO THIS.....leave the wof attacks out of this. That's not what I said.
1...Our way or the way of the world equals defeat and death
2...His way equals prosperous healthy victorious life in Christ

All I have ever said is we do NOT have to be under the bondage of this sin nature. I said we were set free from it and it has no authority over us.

So why then keep saying over and over to me and others that we have to be dead in order for this to be ? That is in a nut shell what you are saying when you use the scriptures that you do in this manner.

They are a warning - a wake up call - a reminder that we will have to do our part. You can even say it is of the works we must do. Faith with out works is dead. Works meaning action or DOING what is written that we should do.

See people tend to slack off and it is not different with Christians. When this happens - then this old sin nature will begin to rise up once again.

Let me say it this way.......
Living by Faith and by His word or ways of doing things means YOU will have to paddle your boat UP-STREAM and go against the current or ways of this world which is the human nature or old man or sin nature.

Stop paddling or slack off and you will begin to turn about and drift with the current once again and be flowing along side the rest of the world.

So you have to start to paddle like crazy to get your self turned back around and start living by Faith in His every word and paddle against this worldly nature or sin nature.

The problem is PEOPLE including Christians do not continually and consistently stay the same flowing by faith. They slack off or do not keep His written word before their eyes and in their mouth and heart and SLOW DOWN OR STOP feeding the Spirit man and the flesh man and this sin nature begins to rise up and be a problem.

The choice is and always will be ours - to what effect this old sin nature dwells in us.

I will NOT be a slave to this old sin nature. I will not wrestle with it nor will I fall back into it. It is dead in me - as long as I keep His word first place in my life and act on it accordingly as it is written to do so.

God Bless and Have a wonderful week end
Jim
