Journal The Cabin

Have a whale of a good day! 😊
funny story. I work in IT for a complex that cares for people with mental and physical disabilities. We have about 100 residents.
Yesterday, one of the residents, an older man. Said he noticed we had ID badges. The badges control door access.
So took his picture and made him a badge, put his job title as my assistant. It does not open doors. He giggled the whole time I was making it.
That made my week.

I still have a fondness for escargot in garlic butter. When I was a kid we would hunt for snails on the island of Crete where my mother was from.
Some of my most cherish memories are of eating them with my distant cousins, along with greens we picked in the mountains.
After our meal we would climb up to a deep well for a cold drink. It was hot enough to melt rubber shoe soles mid-day in the sunshine on the beach.
We would all nap on the cold marble floors in the main house with full bellies. Love me some escargot...

A gang of the snails are angry with this and are coming over to your place to give you a piece of their minds.

They will be there sometime in 2028.

Good morning everyone... This is DA SHEEP checking in.

I want to thank everyone for keeping this wonderful place alive in my absence. Sadly... I need to remain absent for about another week due to family issues.

thenami ... I saw your post in the cartoon thread about watercolours and gouache etc. I would so very much appreciate if you could private message me with a bit of advice on where you would start with WATERCOLOUR.
I own two separate boxes of pre-made watercolours. I am more interested in the TUBES of watercolour I got. They are a 36 pack of Meiliang watercolours. This is where I would like to start. I included the url so you can see the paints.

I need a starting point... I need to learn colour theory as I KNOW nothing about it.. but am so very much wanting to learn watercolour. Any YOUTUBE resources you could throw my way would be so helpful and appreciated.

Thank you.

I love you all... and am thinking of all of you. I will be back as soon as is possible.

Love, DA SHEEP

Good morning everyone... This is DA SHEEP checking in.

If you wanted a good drawing book. Painting is easier if you can draw a bit.
Drawing with the Right side of your brain. It teaches methods to switch the way your brain sees the world.
We see the world around us in a logical way. We put labels on everything and then don't see the details anymore.

I believe when we turn the logical part of our brain off and switch to the Right brain, we are really connecting more with our spiritual side.

The terms left and right sides of the brain are metaphors for how our brain processes our senses. Meditation is a very right-brain activity. Talking is very left-brain. Left brain mode does not listen.
