Journal The Cabin


Good morning my beautiful forum family...

Well... It's been a week ( in a good and surprising way ).

I am going through the staff presentation thread " The Good and Righteous Qualities of God"
and I am reminded of how BLESSED I AM... and that God is faithful to finish within us... that which HE has BEGUN.
That is what I seem to be experiencing in this new season. I did not see this coming... and even if I did... I NEVER would have recognized it for what it is.

I seem to have entered a new phase of my healing. This is year #4 of constant over-flowing JOY accompanied by a child-like wonder in everything good and beautiful. The peace that is in my soul is that which surpasses all understanding. It is constant and grows with my gratitude. IT IS WELL WITH MY SOUL!!!

So.... after two days off.... my house is cleaned... laundry is done... I am resting... and today I shall be making some meals ahead so that when I get home from the boutique... I simply have to warm up and go. One thing I noticed last week is that I really appreciated the fact that I previously made a stew and some soup. It made coming home exhausted... so much better... to know that all I had to do was re-heat my suppers.


I am ready for a new week and another session with the steamer. I am back to the store on Wednesday and really hope that by Friday.... I can be finished all the steaming. After this is complete... I will take some days off to rest again... and then I shall go in twice a week to shadow the owner of the boutique... so that I can become familiar with her merchandise that is already on the racks and shelves. That is going to be the FUN part with no labour or stress.

I'm not sure when I will begin actually "working" but I'm not even nervous at this point. I seem to be a fast learner.

Anyways.... this morning... I get to sit with my boyfriend... Mr. Haggis ( the golden doodle ).
I bought myself a word search puzzle book... and since it's raining this morning.... I will bring
that with me as he can only handle so many cuddles and then he runs off to take a nap.

I am deeply reflecting on the GOODNESS and FAITHFULNESS of God. When He does a work in us...
It is complete.... but... we don't get to see the end result until it IS complete. WE do however get some
precious glimpses of His workmanship.

Father God... has sent me to encourage and uplift a sister in Christ who has been going it alone for a long time.
Everything in me wants to question... WHY ME Lord?? I am so unqualified... I have NO retail experience... and surely you could send a mature Christian to walk along side this sister who is in need of help... but somehow... like David... the lowly Shepherd boy... he is sending me... and so... I thank HIM for being GOOD and FAITHFUL and I TRUST that I will be able to BLESS my sister in Christ with exactly what she needs.

Those are the thoughts of DA SHEEP on this Monday. LOVE YOU ALL!!!!

Who hoo knew??? If I find out hoo who hoo authorized this exterhoominator to spray hoo me, I surely hoo, stop calling me Shirley, hoo will have some unkind, possibly harsh, but definitely hoo rancorous words for hooever ....whoever it was.

So... apparently our dear Cabin(er) bobinfaith is oblivious to some of the TRUTHS of the CABIN... and so I guess it's time for some trivia.
Let me see... Where to start...
1. Who frequents the Cabin and has big antlers AND.... loves... LOVES... peanut butter cups and fizzy drinks?

2. Who resides at the Cabin as a large family with a mom and dad and many children of which only 1 makes Cabin appearances on a regular basis?

3. Who does that 1 little girl have a SEVERE "crush" on ( which is actually more of a fascination mixed in with much
AWE and WONDER? This little one also loves lipstick and make up.

4. What "frightening" plight absolutely bothers and fears DA SHEEP as of the last few months?

It is with deep sadness that I am reporting that our Beloved Mr. Moose has lost his friend Merv the Moose.,
He was on the loose... and stopped into the Back Yard Bar and Grill for one too many fizzy drinks of the hallucinating kind. He fell asleep in the middle a busy highway.

Mr. Moose has requested extra peanut butter cups in lieu of flowers.

But like SERIOUSLY.... How does a truck collide with a moose? Do they just bolt out onto the road like deer do?
It seems to me... that a creature so massive can be seen from a distance.

Notice: Please be very careful when WALKING to the CABIN so as not to COLLIDE with Mr. Moose.

Yes, they will jump out in front of you. I would always panic when my daughter drove up Lucky Peak in Idaho (about 6,000 ft.)
to get to our favorite camping spot on the Snake River. Those twisting narrow dirt roads barely had enough room for a car, let alone a moose.
The mule deer out there were the size of an small horse here. We have bear here in NC that have been hit by cars.
When an animal gets mad enough, they will charge at you.

I sure loved that spot. I used to sleep outside on a beach lounger. The stars were amazing, and I would awake to the splendors of nature.
One time the sandy "beach" area was covered in beautiful slugs. I used them to go fishing. Other times there were herds of deer running, or little yellow butterflies by the hundreds flying around. That activity stopped abruptly one night. I could see glowing eyes across the river on the bank.
Yes, I was being stalked by a mountain lion. I slept in the truck after that. I wouldnt even sleep in the tent with the doggies.

If you ever study animal behavior you'll see they commonly stand to one side of you ( or your car ) and bolt across your path at the last second. Ironically, this places them directly in your path and ends up getting them hit. It's for this reason I drive very slowly when I pass an animal in anticipation of this behavior.

Hello thenami;

My only encounter running over an animal was a cat while still living in San Diego. It was early evening, the sun was going down and while driving in North Park a cat ran across the street. I couldn't stop in time and the cat was under our vehicle. I could hear the cat twisting around under and the sound was gruesome. Somehow it survived and kept running.

Other than that I've never killed an animal. My Dad and brothers were all marksmen in the Air Force but I've never handled a gun nor owned one which means I've never gone hunting.

When I was young and single I enjoyed camping everywhere. I never worried about encountering a bear or a mountain lion but once while camping at a beach in Baja, Mexico, someone's dog approached my girlfriend and me, barking loud and rapid. We were both frightened and I remembered dogs can tell when you're scared at their bark.

So I braved up, raised my voice and told the dog, "knock it off!" lol! It worked and the dog backed off and went away.
My girlfriend made me feel like I was a hero but she didn't know I was shaking inside.

Good morning my beautiful forum family,

Well... I have been re-arranging things in my home. This morning I have a new ( to me ) kitchen table coming in.
Right now... I am using an oversized rectangular kitchen table which takes up a lot of space... but... was great for crafting and my jigsaws. The table that is being delivered to me today is much smaller and will make my space look cozier... so this will be good.

This afternoon.... Mr. Louie ( my friend Margaret's dog ) is coming over for a few hours while she runs errands... and then tomorrow... I'm back to the boutique for Tuesday and Thursday.

A most BLESSED Tuesday to my precious FORUM FAMILY!!!

I am ready for another day of volunteer work. Hoping to get a good grasp on the check-out procedures... as that is one of the most important parts. FEELING really good today... It's nice to have some time to rest... re-fuel and re-charge.

The weather is nice and crisp. Going to enjoy my 1.5 mile walk in the opposite direction of my usual morning walk.
