Journal The Cabin

WE have a frost advisory for tonight.... My little garden is protected by where it sits.... but I am thinking I am going to start plucking things out of the garden tomorrow. I am sad to announce that my corn "miscarried" all it's potential babies. HAHAHA.

To me it looked like I was going to get three cobs of corn... but at this time of year and nothing showing for several weeks now.... I think it just wasn't meant to be. It was fun watching the stocks grow from little babies to hearty poles.
Obviously my attempt to self-pollinate did not work... and I won't bother for next year.

I threw in two potatoes that were sprouting at the end of June. I finally pulled those out 2 days ago and I found 5 potatoes.... You would have thought I found diamonds.... I was squealing with delight every time I found one. HA.
I suspect I might have missed some but I will pay the EARTH tax to the soil.

I learned a lot.... and that seems to be the thing with gardening.... every year you learn something about the plants.

I got tons of tomatoes... and in the morning... I will pick the last remaining ripe ones. I will slow roast the big ones... and do something different with the chocolate cherry ones.
bobinfaith ... My precious plant that I named BOB served me well with many little gems of goodness. Next year... I will name another chocolate cherry tomato plant after YOU. HAHA.

I was curious. Did you adopt the name BOB before the Garage and Cabin, or after?

I once had a retaining wall built for my wife that cost me $3300.00 so she could plant roses, flowers, etc...but she never did.

So when the American weeds grew and while I was pulling them I would shout out loud, HAZEL!
🤬!!!

She would look outside the window and smile at me but not knowing who I was directing her name to. lol!
