The Horrifical Reality about TikTok

mm just kids fooling around, like they often do on you tube as well and make a video of it.
Though one time they started a fire in the mall's supermarket, and it had to close for 7 weeks. We all had to evacuate, cos some 20 year old kid tried burning chip packets they saw on a tik tok vid.

Anything you put online is not going to be private.
If you want to stay private, you'd just not put things online. The internet is a shared platform, and the data is often stored in 'the cloud' but the servers that host that data may be in different countries.

There's such a thing as 'the dark web'. But thing is, there isn't really internet police. Just a lot of mods who think they can handle that job. But they can't really police everything. The internet is world wide. That's why its called the world wide web.

If you want to live in a bunker and have firewalls up for everything, then fine, but you can only do that on your OWN personal computer. You can't realistically do that for everyone else, and there are smart people who can hack anything anyway.

However, most people actually don't have the time to stalk other people...just too busy getting on with their own lives. Offline.

That sounds very benevolent, Lanolin, but there is FAR more going on than you realize. Children are being enticed to porn sites now that porn stars are making videos, and providing links to porn sites that host their porn videos for the public to view for free. This plays right into the hands of the enemy of the very souls of those children, and into the hands of our national enemies such as China.

People seeing what you post is a given. Its personal info that is at risk. Selling email addresses and phone numbers creates an entryway into everything. Facebook seems to get a pass doing that and seems tik toc is in with China.

But thats been going on forever.
Tik tok does nothing new that Facebook and youtube has been doing all along.

I kind of enjoy watching Instagram videos while going to sleep. It's mindless entertainment; however, some are quite inappropriate. I also enjoy following some YouTube "content creators" for the same reason.

If that were true, then there wouldn't be an issue. That platform recently began targeting all videos with the mention of the name of Jesus. The bigger name people who made videos mentioning and teaching about Jesus were left alone...for now, but all the smaller names and unknowns who put out spiritual content have been getting "shadow banned" or outright banned. Did you watch the video I posted?

but thats what people do unless you have $$ to give them.

In the real world thats how it works as well.

No chat site is immune to pornos and pervs. Not even christian ones.
Linkedin was full of evil corporates trying to poach/head hunt people for jobs.

Hello Hopeful and Lanolin;

I can only speak for myself regarding apps. I closed my account with LinkedIn because it didn't do anything for me in securing employment. It only connected me and saying hello to old friends, co-workers and managers. We all said we would give each other a good reference but nothing came of it. I managed to market myself and gain job opportunities without the apps help.

I lost interest in posting at FB and closed my account after 10 years. Old, old friends from growing up exchanged hellos and we caught up a little but after that our connection was limited to online only. There was no Christian fellowship. After I closed my account noone has kept in touch. No regrets.

As far as Tok Tik, no thank you.

I never was entertained by the other social apps and have no interest in joining. So my communication is reduced to email, texting and actually talking on the phone.

I'm comfortable with that and when old friends connect we enjoy visiting each other. As long as we can afford to travel we will visit other places and the people we know and love. Nothing beats face to face fellowship.

I gave up on FB, right after January 20, 2017. Not so much because what's his face was President, but because his supporters just became way too nasty to deal with. Up until then, I had no idea how many of the people I had worked with for so many years were so ugly. Waking away from FB was like taking a deep breath. I have Twitter, as my best source of news from all over the world. I have Instagram because it is entertaining. I can't say I do any posting, as I am mostly into watching.

Its the same IMHO
Also, just saying there is no such word as 'horrifical' lol. You can say 'horrific' but I've never heard of 'horrifical'.

People watch horror movies (out of their own choice) and choose to be horrified, but they don't get all 'horrifical' about it.

I recall one time at work the head honchos tried to get everyone using an in work social media thing called Yammer.

Well posting constantly on social media is not a thing that you can do on the job when you've got so many other more important tasks to do. Like I don't know, keeping everything in order and serving customers! Also, you can just talk to your workmate in the workroom or on a break, you don't need to contact them through social media.

Complete waste of time!
