And (sadly) it is working.I stay off of all the social media sites. I see them as platforms of pooled ignorance designed to prey on the lazy, the gullible, and the ignorant with the intent of shaping culture and society in a detrimental fashion.

What do you mean inappropriate?I kind of enjoy watching Instagram videos while going to sleep. It's mindless entertainment; however, some are quite inappropriate. I also enjoy following some YouTube "content creators" for the same reason.
Rtm
What do you mean inappropriate? In what way? I watch some content but I believe they are harmless stuff, like watching animals perform funny tricks or people singing silly songs. Maybe I need to grow up but sometimes I just need to laugh![]()

No I don’t use tik tok. I do have accounts on Facebook and insta, among others. I never bother with them much.Hello Via;
Are you saying you have the app tok tik and they have harmless stuff to watch?
I do enjoy YouTube and love to watch reruns of soccer games, Christian praise and worship songs and Reaction from old classical music.
My boys were raised on video games and havnt killed anyone yet. Any kid that kills somebody has issues to start with, gamer or not. But if they were young today they wouldnt be on any social media especially ones like tic toc with the antichristian stance they take and their allowance of pedophiles. Now, im gonna log onto Lord of the Rings online and kill some orcs.I heard of Book tok, YA have really taken to it, but I don't really read YA so, not on it.
Children aren't really into tiktok, its more the teen -twenties crowd on it. These fads come and go. I recall Bebo, Myspace, and Friendster.
I'd be more concerned about Fortnite and those other violent graphic video games. I don't get why boys feel the need to shoot things, albeit virtually. I'm like this is so boring. Really?!
Maybe they are practising for world war 3 I dunno.

Facebook short videos seem harmless, but just today after a good chat with Major and forgiven61 I have realised I been backsliding in my walk, and find they are mindless rubbish that haven’t helped me grow in my walk whatsoever.
So I’ve banned them..

Every thing in moderation. There has been a trend for sometime now to blame something or somebody for bad behavior. Comic books in the 50's and I recall Hilary Clinton blaming video games for problem children all the while encouraging permissive parenting. Now the ole Major is not an expert on this. He is however one who has had to clean up the mess afterwards.
Video games can be helpful in that they have the ability to teach children’s memory-enhance leadership skills- allow kids to share the joy of competition, without the fear of injury-inform kids about history and culture.
However, they also have the ability to encourage violent behavior.
Several studies that have been done recently have shown that there has been a correlation between violent game use and aggressive behavior. There is insufficient evidence to link violent video games to criminal behavior.
I for one have seen that prolonged indulgence in these games will Promote social isolation and anti-social behavior.
Spending too much time playing video games can isolate children. They may spend less time doing other activities such as reading, sports, homework and interaction with family and friends. There is a definite problem where by the children have a problem disassociating real time with fantasy time.
Every thing in moderation.
Parenting helps. We raised ours in the middle of nowhere. Lots to do outside but they did play games.Hey bother, it is not my intent to argue the point. What I am saying is that children are like dogs. They do not know what the word moderation means. If it feels good do it. If it ant moving - eat it!
Kids turn out like they turn out. We raised five:Parenting helps. We raised ours in the middle of nowhere. Lots to do outside but they did play games.
