The Person of the Holy Spirit
Do You Know the Person of the Holy Spirit?
The Holy Spirit is not a force or energy, although he has power. He is a PERSON so we should get to know Him.
What if we were with someone all day but they acted like we were not even present or wasn’t aware we were there, ignored us, nor acknowledged us? He is with us all day.
The Holy Spirit can be lied to, as Ananias and Sapphira did. Only a person can be lied to –
Acts 5:3 But Peter said, Ananias, why hath Satan filled thine heart to lie to the Holy Ghost, and to keep back part of the price of the land?
He can be grieved and quenched -
Ephesians 4:30And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.
1 Thessalonians 5:19
Quench not the Spirit.
He can be resisted and vexed -
Acts 7:51Ye stiffnecked and uncircumcised in heart and ears, ye do always resist the Holy Ghost: as your fathers did, so do ye.
Isaiah 63:10
But they rebelled, and vexed his holy Spirit: therefore he was turned to be their enemy, and he fought against them.
He is our comfort, and teaches us -
John 14:26But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.
He guides us and reveals truth to us and things to come -
John 16:13
Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.
He testifies of Jesus –
John 15:26But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me
He convicts –
John 16:8And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: 9Of sin, because they believe not on me
He is love, joy, peace, patient, gentle, good, faithful, meek, has self control -Galatians 5:22-23
Holy Spirit is the anointed presence of God and longs to have a relationship with you. It will dramatically change your life. He wants to be involved in our lives. Purpose to be consciously aware of His presence. As you draw near to Him ask Him to draw near, and expect Him to touch you. He will gladly bless you with His presence.
He wants you to experience the touch of His glory; one moment’s touch can change everything. Enter into that secret place and commune with Him. True prayer is not a chore, but crying out from the depths of our heart for a personal encounter with Him.
2 Corinthians 13:14
The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Ghost, be with you all. Amen.
Jesus is now at the right hand of the Father. When He left he sent His Holy Spirit to be with us.
John 16:7Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you.
Acts 2:33Therefore being by the right hand of God exalted, and having received of the Father the promise of the Holy Ghost, he hath shed forth this, which ye now see and hear.
