Hey crossnote;

Wow!
I remember hearing this song as a boy but I didn't put the song and Jimmy Dean together until you posted this. My wife calls him the sausage guy from the TV commercials. lol!
Here is a trivia question............. Did Jimmy Dean play on the old Daniel Boone TV show?

YES! He was a featured actor as Josh Clements during the 1968โ€“1970 seasons.

You have all lost me..

I'm still playing my tape player in my car and its over 20 years old.
I don't talk to my car and tell it to turn on and off though. I've heard some people tell their robot to do their work for them, turn the lights on and off etc. When the cars start flying maybe thats when I'll trade in my old car for a new one.

I only found out in the past year what the K in Kmart stood for.
I didn't know if 'mart' is even a word. But people make up all sorts of words that don't make sense, and businesses often will spell things ...original ....like kwik-e-mart lol

I think that was off the Simpsons but it's kind of like Toys 'r' us and the 'r' is backwards. Or the 'Try n' Save'

Apparently 'Savemart' has become quite expensive lol.
There's also 'Dressmart' which has discount clothing. But whenever I went there, they never had anything decent in my size.

Anyway. I went to the oldest store in the country (it's a stone store in Kerikeri near an original mission house) which is still trading today. There were guns/rifles and barrels, as well as yarn and thimbles and other knick knack things that people don't really use anymore but you buy it as historical trinkets. I kind of liked it because there was nothing in plastic packaging, and you kind of felt you were going back to a time when global trade wasn't so fast and furious. Everything exotic would have come by ship from England and taken months and months to get here (nz!)

Kmart seems to have gone all scandi with their decor....and I have noticed they only play 80's pop music in their stores. So going there is like going back in time where you have pastel and candy coloured rainbow things against a white background.

Though the 'white' look is still popular, I notice fridges are now NOT white but grey steel colour.
Going into a lot of new homes is hard on the eyes now if EVERYTHING is glaring white (doors, shelves, furnishings, walls, kitchen benches) . And probably not fun for housewives/husbands who have children and want everything colour coordinated.
