Why Do Most Pastors Avoid Politics?

really
I've been to the US, I just see people who try and work for a living but some people can't work because they are sick or can't get jobs for some other reason, or they are very low paid on minimal wage and can't afford to work all hours of the day just to keep a roof over their head. So they live in vans.
You should have visited our neighborhood, half the neighbors stay home collecting handouts, while there are plenty of HELP WANTED signs around town.

Even intellectually disabled people find fulfillment in work making things or doing something constructive. Who wants to just live life feeling useless all the time.

The bad thing is when the govt cuts jobs. My job was cut but it doesn't mean there is no work to do. There is HEAPS of work. The govt just can't afford to pay people to do it...I find that very strange and bizarre.
In the US, we have around 133 million people working. Of those, 18.28 million work for state and local governments and 2.85 million for the federal government (21.13 million in total). At present, we have an unemployment rate of 3.1%, or 5.9 million. Of this, 2.1 million draw unemployment. In Florida, you only get 12 weeks, and the weekly payment is $275.00.

I've never drawn unemployment, so I am not 100% sure how that process works. However, I have no idea how anyone can survive on $275.00 a week.

Please tell me employers are offering more than $6.87 an hour in the US and a full 40 hours work week, or decent part time hours.

In the USA there are Federal and state minimum wage standards. The federal government mandates a state has to ensure at least $7.25 a hour; employers can pay more but not less than the federal rate.

In practice the minimum varies state to state. In the state I live in, Washington State, we currently have the highest national minimum wage at $15.74 per hour.

The minimum wage rate applies to workers who are 16 years old and older. Employees who are 14 or 15 years old may be paid $13.38 per hour (85% of the state minimum wage).

Complicating it further some cities set their own higher minimum wages. In Seattle, the minimum wage is based on employer size and ranges from $16.50 to $18.69, depending on company size and the benefits offered. The minimum wage required in the nearby cities of Tukwila and SeaTac is even higher: In SeaTac, employees must earn at least $19.06 per hour.

This may sound pretty generous however, in Seattle, the recommended household income needed to support a two-bedroom apartment is $76,800 per year.

The “living wage,” or the minimum amount of money needed to live above the poverty threshold in Seattle is currently $21.42 per hour for a full-time employed individual, so at minimum wage, it takes two or more incomes to meet this threshold.
