Questions On The Book Of Revelations

Lifeasweknowit: you also have to understand there are opposing interpretations when it comes to "End Times."(obviously this thread is the perfect example.) I for one see the pre-tribulation "rapture" as bordering on a false doctrine. Therefore, when it comes to such issues I encourage new Christians to stay out of Revelation at the beginning of their walk with the Lord and focus on what Christ requires us to do in the 'here and now.'

Although Major is admittedly grounded much better than I in the scriptures-I do not agree.

Whoaaaa my brother! It is OK not to agree with me.!!! What we are talking about here is not the basics of salvation in any way whatsoever. The study of the End Times has always been very fluid and brings with it different opinions as TIME confirms or rejects certain ideas.

For example, IF Dr. Ironside or Dr. Spurgeon had lived to see the Jews placed in the Promised land on May 14, 1948, do you think that one event would have changed their teaching on the End Times????? IF, IF they were able to see 21 dams built on the Euphrates River which opens the door for Rev. 16 to be fulfilled literally, would that have changed their thinking??????

We all as believers stand on level ground at the foot of the cross of the Lord Jesus Christ.

I am no more "grounded" as a believer than any other believer. We are ALL equal in the eyes of God. We all have ideas, thoughts and we all have been influenced by the teaching of others over our lifetime.

What I am seeing here recently is what I tried to warn us all against doing...........Because I or someone else has a differing thesis or opinion on Bible exergesis concerning the End Times, we must guard against the idea that one is right and the other is wrong.

Rusty and calvin, my good friends have expoused the teaching that we all need to look for Christ in the book of the Revelation. THEY ARE ABSOLUTLY CORRECT. It is in fact the "Revelation of Jesus Christ".
Here in the Revelation, Jesus Christ is seen in glory. You see Him in charge of everything that takes place. He is in full command. This book is the UN-VEILING of Jesus Christ!!!!!!!!!!

Not only is Jesus the focus of the Revelation, He is the focus of every book of the Bible.

Because we differ on certain things written in the Scripture concerning Escotology does not make one any more grounded or closer to God than someone else.

Romans 14:5 tells us clearly..............
"One man esteemeth one day above another; another esteemeth every day alike. Let every man be fully persuaded in his own mind".

The things I have posted here concerning the End Times do not have to be accepted by anyone. They are MY beliefs and my opinion after having studied Escotology for many years. That does not make me correct and anyone else incorrect. It is just something to think about because the simple fact is that only TIME will confirm what we understand about it.

I have said this before and repeat in again now.......I approach the Book of Revelation with fear and trembling for many reasons, one obviousely being a lack of compentence on my part.

Another reason is a lack of knowledge on everyones part who approaches this book. You see, the Revelation is the last book of the Bible. There are 65 other books that need to be read and understood before we get to the Revelation. We ALL need to have the background of a working knowledge of all the Bible that precedes the Revelation. It is important, no, it is imperitive that you have a feel of the Scriptures as well as having the facts of the Scriptures in your mind.

Now, as I said and so has calvin and Rusty, Jesus is the subject of the book. If you miss that, you miss everything. It is NOT about the beasts, or bowls or trumps or wrath, BUT IT IS ABOUT THE SIN BEARER!!! He, Messiah Jesus is 1st mentioned in Genesis 3:15 as the Seed of the woman.

Now allow me to say that the book of the Revelation is NOT a difficult book. It is of all the 66 books of the Bible the most orderly and there is actually no reason to misunderstand it, When you read it, very quickly you will see that the book divides itself.

I am aware that some have problems with the symbols used. May I give to you one of the keys to understanding this book. To those who claim that it is all "symbolic" I say that the book is to be taken as LITERAL. When a symbol is used, it will be so stated. Also, it will be more symbolic of reality and the reality will be more real than the symbol for the simple reason that John uses symbols to describe reality.
Let the Book say what it wants to say!

Major, I think you may have misundertsood intent of my message to 'Tink': I was tossing her a life preserver so she wouldn't drown in the overabundance of info...

From what I read in Revelation, nothing there has transpired yet. There has been no rapture of the dead and living in Christ. There has been NO tribulation. There has been NO 1000 years Satan free reign of Christ. Most surely, there has been NO judgment seat or NEW earth. I really fail to see how ANY person can fall for the Preterist view.

It is not really Rocket science. One just has to understand things differently than others. Since nobody can detail just how things will play out, patient loving kindness is called for.

I am a Christian, but I have been an atheist in the past. I am struggling with being a false prophet and I used to think I could see the future. I'm not a prophet. I can't see the future. I feel bad about having thought it. I went through a psychotic episode. Even today I'm struggling with faith, mostly because I'm afraid I'm going to hell, but I guess I won't know that until Judgment Day.

no....don't go there Sara.I'd like to meet you some time and I hate hot climates. So by the grace of God i'll expect to see you in heaven where by the grace of God and nothing I can do, nothing you can do is where we will be.......yes?

Sara, 'Today is the day of salvation." You can KNOW your are going to heaven. 'Call upon the name of the Lord and be saved!"

The message of the Gospel NEVER grows cold...

...God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them... And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day.

Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. ...Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.

This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you. Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.

Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

I am the way, the truth and the life.

Love

Jesus the Christ-Son of the Living God

The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all.

For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. But God commandeth His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

With Love,

Paul-Apostle to the Gentiles

Truly give your heart over to Christ....(and all your burdens). His yoke is easy, and the burden is lighter than the guilt and regret you put on yourself. Allow yourself to accept forgiveness from Christ.

Without God-Christ-we all go to Hell....

Already prayed for you, hun. God put you in the right place here at CFS. There are a tone of wonderful friends you will make who will uplift you and keep you on the right track. You can trust them because they definitely know their stuff. (y)
