Is Anyone Celebrating Passover?

I read a good response in the comments section about how the Bible says that Gentiles can participate.

1 Corinthinas 5:7
King James Bible
Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our passover is sacrificed for us:

Leviticus 24:22
King James Bible
Ye shall have one manner of law, as well for the stranger, as for one of your own country: for I am the LORD your God.

I wish my husband knew more about all of this. His great-grandfather was Jewish. He married a Christian and they had a son (dh's grandfather). DH doesn't know much and it's hard to teach our children anything because I'm not Jewish.

Yes. I think it's perfectly fine for Christians to celebrate Passover. I think we should focus on biblical things instead of all the pagan stuff.
I agree and not sure who, but someone made the point that a lot of things come from a pagan tradition..our whole western outlook was in large part influenced by Greek paganism.. Paul told us these things are nothing unless they effect our conscience in some way? I hope after you have studied these issues out, you can strengthen your conscience with the liberty we have in Christ :)

Communion is the celebration of Passover for believers. As in any holiday, I think it is intent and purity of heart. Are you partaking in the Passover celebration because you are devoted to God? Are you doing it because you love God? You could make up your own holiday if you wanted and it would be great if it was dedicated to God. Why do you want to celebrate passover? I think you already know if it is right for you.

Hey where, this isn't any Mexican food in Tahiti and coming from California I went into withdrawals a few years after I'd been here, ...we've come up with some pretty good recipes, in our opinion, that are not complicated, ...if your still interested.

Gottta help a brother in need,

Be careful...Where likes to take credit for other peoples recipes... He will have it all over the Net..how he come up with these new dishes..

I did read an article about Easter already existed for Ishtar... that cannot be pleasing to God.
He is not worried about some silly god called Ishtar...He is concerned that we behold the Glory of His beloved Son...Now if the RCC co-opted this tradition many years ago, to bring the pagan world into their form of religion? What effect does that have on us who celebrate this day in remembrance of our Lord? It has no effect on our sincere desires to remember Him..on this day. Its NOTHING! IT MEANS NOTHING! Christ alone has value and importance to the Father.

Be weary of these groups who are always looking for "sin"..some of these religious folks would make everything some sort of sin...but they will never look at there own wicked hearts.

But what does the verse I provided earlier mean?

Beware of False Gods
29 “When the Lord your God cuts off from before you the nations which you go to dispossess, and you displace them and dwell in their land, 30 take heed to yourself that you are not ensnared to follow them, after they are destroyed from before you, and that you do not inquire after their gods, saying, ‘How did these nations serve their gods? I also will do likewise.’ 31 You shall not worship the Lord your God in that way; for every abomination to the Lord which He hates they have done to their gods; for they burn even their sons and daughters in the fire to their gods.

32 “Whatever I command you, be careful to observe it; you shall not add to it nor take away from it.

Of course this is the OLD TESTAMENT LAW... but are you "following" some silly false god called Ishtar when you go to worship Christ on Easter? I hope not...the term "easter" means nothing... Its the worship you render to God, in memorial to Christ, that has value unto the Father. What the devil is trying to do is to steal away our worship of Christ by trying to make everything appear as some sort of sin.. as to hinder us from a pure conscience..whereby all true worship must come.

I didn't know that I was, but if I am, I hope it is religion that the Father accepts as pure and faultless, which is to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.

Did you like the video I shared on my Facebook? When it showed the girl coming from school, I got a little chocked up.

What? You guys have Facebook? Can you PM me a link so I can stalk you...oops...I mean friend you?!?! :D Or let me know how to find you on Facebook?

I just tell you sweet...you should not celebrate Easter..if you have all these doubts....because whatever is not of faith..is sin.

Allie has hers posted...see if you can figure the rest of us out? Where is a little self-conscience about his appearance..there was a bad accident...:(

Sweet Pea, what you are looking at is the instructions given to the Children of Israel that were about to enter into the Promised Land, we as the Body of Christ are dwelling in the Promised Land while we sojourn here, so to speak, ...in the Bible names are very significant and the names of the different races give us the meaning of the fleshly characteristics we are to look out for and crucify in our walk with the Lord, the names of their gods are the snares of this world that we must be ever aware of and avoid.

Here is a list of the people that inhabited the Promised Land,

For My Angel shall go before you and bring you in to the Amorites, and the Hittites, and the Perizzites, and the Canaanites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites. And I will cut them off. Exo 23:23

Six in number and in the Word six is the number of man, so,

to have an Amorite in our character, is the desire to be prominent and boastful,
to have a Hittite in our character is to break down, subdue people either by violence or confusion or fear,
to have a Perizzite in our character is to be a divisive person, usually by gossip,

to follow the god Molech is to be the supreme king in our lives, our will be done, and Molech is the god that killed his successors and he required babies to be sacrificed to him.

I think you get the idea, I'll leave the rest for you to look up in your concordance and be enriched by hearing the Lord reveal the meanings to you. John 4:42

I hope you can see that for us it is talking about spiritual things and the areas in our lives that need to be given over to the Lord, do you see what is written in the above verse, the Angel of the Lord will go before them and our lord Jesus has gone before us and has promised to send the Holy Spirit to guide and comfort us, so if the concern you are feeling is condemnation then it's not from the Comforter, ...and, the verse has nothing to do with an egg hunt for/with your kids.

Be blessed,

Gene

The Passover lamb was a prophecy of Jesus the Lamb to come to the Jewish nation. Christ has obviously fulfilled it.....therefore, if its purpose is fulfilled.....why celebrate it? And it was a holiday God established for the old Israel. :)

Why do you want to mistreat chickens so badly. You kind of remind me of that guy that punched a donkey in the Bible.

i really would like to know how you know if a chicken is happy or not... tell the truth your words seems rather silly that it is okay to kill a happy chicken and eat him but not a sad chicken... :giggle:
