For the sexually abused (Why didn't God protect me)

Got me thinking that if the snake was not allowed into the garden of Eden, Adam and Eve would probably just be happily doing what they are told to do. Almost as if they were set up to fail. Every man is amounted to just so many gram (or kilogram) of raw chemicals. So why is that David is the man after God's own heart yet Judas became the traitor. There has to be someone to take the role of Judas, otherwise, the salvation will not happen. Who is deciding the role of each one of us and the consequence of what this person do. I heard the rationale of " free will" and " fallen world" so often. But it does not explain why some are saved, some are not.

Something to remember, God created the snake originally, and at that time snakes were good. But the devil decided to enter into the snake and do some word play, causing Eve to question weather or not they would really die.
And as stated...Adam and eve made the choice to disobey God.
Now Judas i believe, had he waited, till Jesus had been raised from the dead, i believe that He would have been forgiven. But he was consumed with guilt (which was not from God), and his own heart condemned him. We are the ones that decide where we go when we die. And if we want to accept or reject Christ or not. Then we have the opportunity to decide if we are going to walk in God's ways or not. God gives us a lot of choices that's for sure!
Blessings my friend

I don't think you have a very good grasp of the point at hand. The question was whether God can be limited in any way by things that we do. The notion is preposterous. God does what He wishes when He wishes. To think that we puny mortals decide what God does or does not do is absurd.

Let me ask you a question if i may?
If God says i am going to bless you with the biggest crop of corn or whatever....and we choose not to plant corn seeds. Have we limited God in what He said He will do?
Blessings!

The devil was one of God's favourites in heaven. We may all be aware that the devil wanted to same or more power/control than God. The devil wasn't happy and was cast out of heaven.
Let's face it, Satan has such cunning that he deceived the two people who should have been most faithful to God.
How did he get Eve to eat the forbidden fruit?
The devil knew how to, he lied (his main weapon) - Eve hadn't heard a lie, so how do you react - she took it as the truth and that God would not know.
Adam fell for the lie Eve told - the question I ask is this?
Should be draw any comparison between the devil and Eve?
She did lie to Adam and trick him...

Wasn't Adam standing right there with eve when the devil was talking to her? If so then all she did was hand Adam the fruit, no one deceived him, he flat out disobeyed.

I've started my own thread on this is general discussions - please post there and we can continue this discussion.

I love how folks have the habit of coming up with absurd hypotheticals. You will notice in the scriptures that God's promises are ALWAYS conditional on the behaviors of the person to whom the promise is made.
If you do this, I will do that.
The answer to your question is still NO, a man cannot limit God.
Does the flea demand that the dog lie down?
This whole mode of thinking is just a symptom of the outrageous arrogance that is part and parcel with much of modern "christian" thinking. Whatever happened to humility?
Do you understand that you live or die at the whim of others?

Glomung Hello,
I need to ask you a question because it seems as if you are walking down the middle of the fence and speaking on both sides.
You said...((((( You will notice in the scriptures that God's promises are ALWAYS conditional on the behaviors of the person to whom the promise is made.

)))

Ok if God's promises are Always conditional on the behaviors of the person to whom the promise is made...If you do this I will do that.... I agree totally....
However this does in fact say that if I want this promise of God to operate in my life I have to do what God said to do in His word...So if I do not do what He said then I can not have this promise operate in my life....THEREFORE limiting what God can do in my life....

It is written that with out Faith we can not please God, so this says that faith is mighty important in our walk with God. If we do not walk in Faith and Live in Faith and speak in Faith and expect in faith then we limit what God can do for us....other wise....we would not have to do anything or live His way to gain all that he has instore for us...

If a Believer decides to step out of Gods righteousness and start doing some things their own way, well would this not limit God to what He could and could not do for this believer ?
Have a wonderful day
jim

You assume that God is not completely aware of all the choices and actions that any person will ever make.
That is a very poor assumption.

Actually Glomung, I have a better idea....
Why not just asnwer my origional question with a straight answer.....It seems you have avoided this twice.
Now you are just being rude. I have answered every single query posted to me, and I had thought I had done so thoroughly.

What is it I have left undone? What was not answered?

Final warning
If this thread doesn't calm down and become respectable, it will be closed.

How about God has put limits on Himself? Why does he use us humans to accomplish things when he could have done it himself? In a way God limits himself. That is how I see it anyways.

Hi, Pancakes :)

I have read this thread over and over and can't seem to come up with an answer. Being in situations like that are scary and can make one feel as if they were at fault. I had many conversations with God asking Him why and becaues of no answer, I became an atheist.

Even though I have been following God, I still do not know the answer.

However, seeing God completely change my darkness into light, seeing how He broke chains of a victim mindset and adapting a new indentity of adoption, seeing Him as my Dad and just knowing He can't wait to just talk with me, makes me not so worried about the answer to the "Why." Sometimes, we need to be completely okay with not understanding.

Once I seek after His heart, He heals. Once I seek after His heart, He speaks.

And therefore, what He does and says brings healing.

I absolutely love the people who did those things to me as a young child. I have forgiven and we are extremely close.

And it wasn't because God answered "why." Instead, He showed me what love is when I wasn't shown love at a very young age and when I had to grow up extremely fast. I forgave and I love my abusers because God has forgiven me and loved me when I "abused" Him. I have hurt His heart multiple times, I have wronged Him, and if I was there at calvary, I might have just nailed Him to the cross as well.

I forgave because God's forgiveness is in me. It helped me to forgive and it helped me to love. If I do not love, then I do not know God because God is love.

It takes time to reach this point of forgiveness and love. You will never forget. But you learn to love and you learn to forgive.

Continue being the light. You are the salt of the earth.

You are loved.
