Flesh and Bones

From you my brother. One of several posts is #26.........
"There is no doubt Jesus has a body right now, but it is not made up of flesh, and bone, but a glorious spiritual body which we too will have at his return.
After all he does live inside us.

Isn't that difference what we have been talking about????

You have been saying "spirit" and the rest of us have been saying "glorified human" body.

Brother how do you suppose one gets the Holy Spirit? Do you first filled with the Spirit, and then get born again, or does one get born again, and then receive the Spirit.
How does one get born again, and by what means? "Being born again of the incorruptible seed of Word of God......"

Now that is a question which you know does not need to be asked. It rests real close to condescending don't you think?

Since when does a man stop being a man once he receives a spiritual body?

As has been said several times now......it is a "Glorified" body and yes it sounds and looks just like what one who look like if we could visualize it. The difference is that John saw it. Do you believe that John was lieing about what he saw.
The question is did Jesus's disciples see him this way after his resurrection in his physical body, and before his ascension?

A spiritual body is not made up of flesh, and bone as Jesus already said himself. Is Jesus a life giving Spirit or is he not? Yes he is, and if he is, then a spirit does NOT have flesh, and bone!!!

So you totally dismiss all the posted Scriptures and stick with your opinion?

Good enough brother!

Be well and may God bless as there is nothing else I can say.

1 Corth 13:12.......

" For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I have been fully known."

Think Paul actually meant "face" as in physical???

I don't think so!!!

Heb 2:9.. But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man.

When was the last time you saw Jesus crowned with Glory and honor with your physical eyes?

Well there is the problem. Even when shown you still reject it.

When have I seen Jesus? Never and neither has anyone else!

I can see that you are entrenched in this teaching and you are rejecting every Scripture that says the opposite of your opinion, therefore I am going to let you have the last word and I am going out the door. Have a good time with this.

That's OK Major. I am not rejecting any scripture as Paul is not talking about the physical, but seeing Jesus in the Spirit not the flesh, which is why he says ,"but we see Jesus crowned with Glory and honor". This is not future tense but right now. I have never seen anything supernatural with my physical eyes have you? I do see things in the spirit all the time, but it is with the eyes of my heart, which is why we are told to not look at the things seen (physical), but at the things not seen (spiritual)!!!

Been there, done that!! Besides I don't use reasoning that will get you no where.

Yet you seem to deny the bodily ressurection of the Lord?

Claiming it " IS NOT MADE UP OF FLESH AND BONE " a direct contradiction not only of the scriptures but by the very words of the Lord as proof that it was himself !

You are confusing our "glorious spiritual body " when mortal shall put on immortality .

Obviously you don't seem to read my posts clearly. I never said at any time that Jesus's physical body did not raise from the dead!!! What body did Jesus show to his disciples before his ascension to heaven? It surely was not a spiritual body!!! The last Adam (Jesus Christ) was made a life giving "Spirit"!!! (1 Cor 15:45) A Spirit does not have a flesh and bone body!!!

With one breath you say Jesus rose physically from the dead and with the other by quoting just ONE verse " was made a life giving Spirit" you deny it .
Do you not know that by one mans disobedience all die? and by one mans obedience all men (who believe) live?
Know ye not that the Spirit of Christ "another comforter " will come and if he dwells in your body which is dead because of sin he who raised up Jesus from the dead (flesh and bone) shall also quicken your mortal body?
it is not enough to build a mountain from one verse .But comparing scripture with scripture.we arrive at the truth .
Jesus not only BODILY rose from the dead .That body was not longer quickened by the blood but by the Spirit of God or HIS Spirit . He who ascended into heaven is the same who walked this earth and descended into hell.
"it is expedient that I go for if I do not go the Holy Spirit will not come .
Before Pentecost "they knew Him after the flesh " But after they knew Him after the Spirit.
What body did he show them? The same body as before even to the wounds of the cross. It was a spiritual body also . For a physical body ALONE cannot go through walls or apear and dissapear .For that matter it cannot walk on water either .
Know ye not the scriptures "A BODY hast thou prepared for me "

Brother, you are simply confused in your theology. The comforter is not Jesus Christ but the Holy Spirit, they are not the same! Jesus is Jesus, the Holy Spirit is the Holy Spirit, and the Father is the Father. Jesus Christ lives inside the believer along with the Holy Spirit. Flesh and bone can NOT live inside a believer!!!!

2Co 13:5.. Examine yourselves, to see whether you are in the faith. Test yourselves. Or do you not realize this about yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you?—unless indeed you fail to meet the test!

'Because the carnal mind is enmity against God:
for it is not subject to the law of God,
neither indeed can be.
So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.
But ye are not in the flesh,
but in the Spirit,
if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you.
Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ,
he is none of his.
And if Christ be in you,
the body is dead because of sin;
but the Spirit is life because of righteousness.
But if the Spirit of Him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you,
He that raised up Christ from the dead
shall also quicken your mortal bodies by His Spirit that dwelleth in you.'

(Rom 8:7-11)

Hello @CCW95A,

In these verses, the terms, 'Spirit of God' and the 'spirit of Christ' are used interchangeably.

The new nature that we have within us, as believers in the Lord Jesus Christ, is called 'Pneuma Christou', or Christ Spirit, and refers to 'character': for we are in the new nature (spirit), and therefore should reflect the nature of Christ, and not that of the flesh nature.

To argue that Christ Jesus our risen Lord is not 'flesh and bones' now, on the basis of the fact that His spirit indwells us, is not valid.

Here is a simple test for every one who believes they are a child of God. There is only one question, and that it is only a true or false answer, very very simple.

2Cor 13:5.. Examine yourselves, to see whether you are in the faith. Test yourselves. Or do you not realize this about yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you?—unless indeed you fail to meet the test!

Every true born again Christian knows without a shadow of doubt that Jesus Christ himself is now living, and dwelling inside them!!!
Not a carbon copy, not representative of his, but the actual real person Jesus Christ.

Anyone who does not believe this have "failed" the test, and they do not belong to God, and are not his child!

Do you not remember that while Jesus is the Son ,and the Father is the Father and the Holy Spirit is the same.
That there is but ONE God.
The subject of the Trinity of God is not to be entered into in reply to such a subject/argument .
But all that Jesus WAS the Holy Spirit IS .
All the Father IS the Holy Spirit IS .
The Holy Spirit is not a power , a force, or even a principle .He is a person who is GOD .
He is the Spirit of Christ .
Jesus is the "EXPRESS IMAGE of the invisible God"
We see the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ .
Jesus is the wisdom of God personified .
The grace of God personified .
Never the less it was not the Son that doeth the work but the Father who was IN him that "doeth the work"
Even as the Holy Spirit was IN Him so in the measure given is he IN every true believer.
"show us the father " said one .
Have I been with you so long that you kn ow not me" was the answer.
Know ye not that I am in the father and the father is in me?
Know ye not the Lord says "Behold I stand at the door and knock and if any man has ears to hear and opens the door ;then the Father and the Son will come and sup with him"

in Christ
