What does being saved mean to you?

Hello you and welcome.

As you know in Romans 10:9 the scripture tell us If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.

What does being saved mean exactly?

I have changed eternal locations. Once I was lost and on the road to hell, now I am saved and on my way to heaven.

Location! Location! Location!

Thank you for your comment, Major.
Maybe someone else might have more to add to this, possibly.

If you would like to share your thoughts and comments do not be afraid to do so, it may help and encourage other readers, thank you and have a great day.

Peace!

True peace that comes from God...
knowing that God loves me. And in knowing all those things He proves daily... he hears, answers, cares, guides, corrects, protects, empowers, provides,waits...

He has sacrificed His very heart for us, (for me and you).
Knowing the beautiful prayer of Jesus has been answered, and that we can be united with God.. as we were created to be! We can live our lives being who God intended us to be.. and we can one day be where we are supposed to be - with God himself.

What does being saved mean exactly?

To me, being saved means that God has begun a process of change within me. The old man is being done away and the new is replacing it. Christ in many ways referred to the Kingdom as a far away place that we must travel to. We must be guided on that narrow path with many obstacles (opportunities). God lights the way so that we can see, but we only see a short way along the path. God must continually be there making clear the path ahead. When we turn from the path we stumble having no light to lead us, but fortunately God stays very close to pick us up and repoint us to the path.

Amen brother!

ok, well for me this is a really good question.

I think I agree with everyone up above^^
but I also want to say, that I no longer desire the things I used to.
I used to smoke and drink and take drugs and party.
I used to do all those things because I liked it. now I don't.
now I am learning to be at peace with who I am and if others don't accept me that's their problem, and that's ok too.
I am learning to accept some things about myself and my limitations that I didn't like and thought was bad but now I accept. I am beginning to accept others and not expect them to change because I don't like some of the things they do.
I could go on but its I could square it down to being comfortable in my own skin.

I would like to be comfortable in my own skin too, it is that I just have too much of it!

Yes Via you are right. You might sometimes see it is very lonely seemingly almost being a follower of Christ.

It is good to remind ourselves of the Lord Jesus Christ, and what He went through even alone.

(Was thinking of to myself in the car ride home Via, where else is there to run to, there is drugs or the older lifestyle that was once lived, however those things pass away when we turn our eyes towards God, and Jesus Christ. So where else is there possibly to go to but only Him and his Father.)

Desiring to please everyone will not work, but doing what is right in being kind, and not complaining and murmuring to others about what other people may be doing and this and that will work for God's will is for us to be thankful, and pray for people in Christ Jesus.

16 Rejoice always, 17 pray continually, 18 give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. 1 Thess. 5:16-18

38 And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons,[b] neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. 39 No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 8:31-39

It is not easy following Christ Jesus, but God does He sure love all people, and us to.

All there is left to hold on to is faith in God for deliverance, hope in God through all circumstances, and Love for God and all His creations.

My thoughts on what being saved means is being saved from the destructive ways of your own self, and being saved into the Kingdom of Heaven and start looking towards God's ways instead of our own ways that we may handle situations, even look at life, even world views.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts Via, it is much appreciated and it is totally understandable by what you mean to be comfortable with who you are in Christ Jesus as his follower, and as a daughter of God.

What does being saved mean exactly?
Briefly, being saved is being renovated and recreated as opposed to being reformed (qv Rom. 12:2).
