Are we moving away and off real Gospel to the Social One now?

I sense today if you asked 5 Evangelicals today, "What is the Gospel?" You'll most likely get 5 different answers. It is a pity, but a reality in this highly subjective world. And at least three of the answers will start out like,"Well, I feel the Gospel is..."

Agreed. The words, "The Bible says".........has been replaced with.........."I feel like....."!

Agree!

Of all the early churches, the Corinthian one would not be the one to model after.

The church at Corinth had divided loyalty to different leaders.
There was gross immorality in the Corinthian church, and it was being tolerated.
There was some confusion about whether or not it was better to be married or single.
There was meat sold in the marketplace may have been sacrificed to an idol before being sold.
Could a Christian eat that meat?
And how should a Christian respond to a fellow believer who holds a different opinion?
Paul also addresses the extent of women’s involvement in worship services.
The Corinthians were also confused about the future resurrection.
I believe Jesus to some of the 7 Churches in Revelation, would have had some choice words to say, if He had expanded further.

But don’t forget Annanias and Sapphira.
i have forgot nothing i love the Book of acts . it shows how the early Church was started one place one accord is how it kicked off when the anointing of the Holy spirit ushered in 3 thousand souls added . that dont come by playing games. that came by straight forward preaching . nothing in them times was %100 perfect ! simply because man had his ideas as well and lets just shell down the corn. we all have our ideas to.

they are shown in all these post, we have been told by James to be DOERS of the word not hearers only ! there is so much for us to do what the word says . many times we fail we sin . James wrote to him who knows to do good and Don't is a sin. sin of omission sin of commission. there was a time the church was far more pure than it is today . lets not tiptoe through tulips lets say it how it really is. yes everyone of us can do better .

personally i don't see a great end time revival other than when Christ takes the Church out of the world . that will be a great revival.

2 Corinthians 4:8-10

King James Version

8 We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair;
9 Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed;
10 Always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body..

thankful He is still working on ME

It's for baptists who don't really know who God is and want to write big long papers about it in special colleges, methinks.

Your post tells us that you have no idea what Baptist theology is.

But since you do not seem to know, allow me to say that there are several kinds of "Baptists". There are there the Free Will Baptists, the Independent Baptists as well as Hard Shell Baptists. There is also the Southern Baptist denomination which is exclusive to the others.

Then, just so that you will know the next time, there are several things that will help your understanding:

• Baptists do not insist that everyone should accept Christ to be saved.

• Southern Baptists directly say that people "must" believe in Christ or should face an eternity in Hell and are baptizes after accepting Christ.

• Baptists do not believe in free will.

• Southern Baptists believe in free will.

• Predestination is accepted by both groups but at different levels.

• Baptists allow women to be ordained as Pastors.

• Southern Baptists only allow men to be ordained.

• Baptists are open towards the idea of same sex couples.

• Southern Baptists are strongly against the idea of same sex couples.

• Baptists do not demand the religion to have powers separate from the state.

• Southern Baptists demand that the church should be a completely separate entity from the state.

Baptists agree on the core doxtrines of what makes one a baptist, mainly scriptures fully inspired, Trinity, Gospel is jesus died and rose again, saved by grace alone thru faith alone, local assembly has full authority, but we disagree on MANY side issues!

Now if I were a Reformed or Primitive Baptist, I might take an exception as to what's a 'side issue'.

I am not like one......I are one and proud of it!
i cant say being a Baptist has done great things for me.. another old time preacher man use to say the name tag will either fall off going up or burn off going down. i prefer mine to fall off, i know lots ministers live breath being Baptist. i just try to walk to path of righteousness i should

I hold NO comfort in any tag of denomination. It is just a name which is applied to a group of believers who are like minded in their understanding of the Word of God.

Being a Southern Baptist makes no one any more of a Christian than does standing in a garage make you a car. It is just a name, plain and simple. Just like all other Christian churches, some are good and some not so good. All of them were perfect until men joined them.

I am a born again believer in Christ Jess by the grace of God and a southern Baptist by choice because when I studied and investigated all the Protestant theologies, the Southern Baptist was the closest to what the Bible teaches IMHO.

"Side issue" = a squirrel on the side of the pew shouting AMEN!

That sounds like a squirrely church especially if there are a lot of side issues. :D
