Must one Hold to the trinity to be saved?

There is not a Scripture which says what you asked.

The actual answer is YES and NO.

In one sense you do not have to believe in the Trinity to be a Christian, but in another sense you do. Let me explain. The Bible does not tell us that we must believe in the Trinity in order to become saved; that is, to become a Christian. On the other hand, true Christians will end up believing in the Trinity because it is the proper teaching concerning God’s nature that has been revealed to us in Scripture. So, though someone may not understand the Trinity when he or she becomes a Christian, eventually he will end up believing in it because he’s a Christian.
if one does not hold to a view of God as trinity, will end up with one of these heresies, Modualism, Unitarinism, Oneness, etc!

Right, all the fullness of the Godhead dwells bodily in the Son.

Colossians 2:9 (KJV) For in him dwelleth all the fullness of the Godhead bodily.

Correct! Colossians 2:9 means that Jesus was fully God in the flesh.

However, what I am saying is that the natural man is not aware of that. What he knows is that he is a sinner and the penalty for his sin is death, but Jeus paid that price for him and by coming to Jesus by faith he is then saved from his sin penalty. Later........that same man will learn through the Word of God that Jesus the father and the Holy Spirit are One and then if he rejects that doctrine he can not be saved as all 3 are one and to reject one is to reject all 3.

I just find it hard to believe that a truly saved person (means having the Holy Spirit) would reject what the Spirit Himself teaches...are they born again or no?

IOW, they’re not saved until they are saved?

"IOW"???

Everyone who is saved is saved when they accept the Lord Jesus. I understand what you are saying in the Christ and the Spirit are one,...but the lost person does not understand that. Everyone I know, including myself learned "later" that the Spirit and the Son are the same.

I am just saying that no one says I accepted the Holy Spirit and got saved, but in reality that did just that...right?

the Holy Spirit convicts a lost sinner is a sinner, that Jesus alone can save them, and enables them to receive him as their lord and Savor, and then He will start to show them God is trinity, but once shown that truth, cannot reject it

And That is what I am saying as well brother.

I understand what you are saying but that wasn’t what I was referring to.
IOW = in other words
What I was trying to say was that through faith in the Gospel of Jesus Christ a person receives the Holy Spirit, the Author of Scripture. So it would be inconceivable for me to believe that such a person would reject what the abiding Holy Spirit has inspired (had written) in His Word.

1 John 2:19-20 KJV
[19] They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would no doubt have continued with us: but they went out, that they might be made manifest that they were not all of us. [20] But ye have an unction from the Holy One, and ye know all things.

1 John 2:27 KJV
[27] But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him.

And I agree with that!

I guess that I am not being clear.

A person cannot be saved without the Holy Spirit. You cannot grow as a Christian, and enter into a close personal relationship with Jesus, without the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit convicts us of sin, He leads us into all truth, He lives in us to lead us to Jesus, He seals us for salvation. All Bible truth.

"ALL" I am saying is that a lost person does not knowingly get saved by accepting the Holy Spirit.
He does in reality but he does not know it at the point of conversion. All I knew when I was saved is that Jesus dies and rose from the dead and by what He did He paid the penalty I should have paid...Death.

Later as I learned about what being saved really meant, I realized that when I accepted Jesus Christ I at the same time accepted the Holy Spirit and the Father = Trinity. But I had no idea what I did when I did it and even then I am not sure I could have understood it.

Agreed, just not sure how we got off on that tangent.

many do not even know of the father or Holy Spirit until after saved!
