Alphabet Soup Garden Varieties

We had a wonderful time being goofs. Went down to New Smyrna Beach, up to Daytona, and back to St. Aug. It was cold and windy but enjoyable strolling down nostalgia lane. Lit a few candles and said a prayer at the Greek Orthodox shrine. It was the highlight of our trip. Mother and daughter time is always a good thing.

So glad you had some time to share with your daughter. My wife and I started our honeymoon trip in Miami and made many stops in Florida on our way north to New York City. We enjoyed St. Augustine as well. There were many great places along the way.

I’m so jealous.
I can’t wait to come to the states.
glad you had a good time!!

are you Greek? Your username seems like it.

of the things my heart misses
the most are softest kisses
ones I wish would never end
till in heaven I ascend

of the things my mind enjoys
among shadows they deploy(s)
is the sound of ocean's roar
strong to crash me to the core

of the things my tongue does like
homemade rum ball with a spike
baklava with good ice cream
chocolate makes my eyes gleam

but of the things yet to come
I have little hope but some
maybe I will love once more
as happiness rains and pours

I am home alone enjoying the silence
only solitude can bring as if it is food
with a new recipe I have not tired yet
while my brain wonders why

my heart speaks with easy answers
saying humans are full of drama

so I wonder about all the theatrics
in this grand play of life people put on
like its a Broadway musical production
complete with a formal orchestra

down to the last stringed instrument
trying to pluck away at my nerves

and Im thankful for this delightful time
where no one wears an armored helmet
as it ticks the same tick tock as always
in a comforting carefree pace of yes

this fine moment belongs to God and I
with no particular place to be but here

the concept of contentment depends on our opinions
sculpted into a form of our humanity from experience
like it is a treasured Michael Angelo work of art
so how does this happiness become easily shattered?

quit knocking over these hard earned masterpieces
and take a chisel in hand to help carve them instead
this privilege is not a right and needs to be cherished
not crumbled into pieces to be used for a sidewalk

Very well said.

mirror mirror its the same old pages
I pay the price with another's wages

the gift I wear will be a cloak of white
as I cheer on knowing all will be right

my brothers and sisters they will be there
for all of mankind's sins one did bare

his name is special as I do rejoice
and in my heart I long to hear his voice

Jesus Christ the Son of my Father yes
I'm living proof his children he does bless

one day I shall rest inside heaven above
in eternal life knowing only love~

ox' y'all have a great nighty night now y'a hear

Howdy y'all~ I will be sticking to my poetry pages, where as I female I feel comfortable posting at this time.

there was a tornado here down by the beach
that storm last night was a bad one and woke me up
the power went out and I had a bad feeling
three people died as it shook homes off their foundations
thank you Father in the name of your Son Jesus Christ
for keeping us safe and sound in this neck of the woods
there are no words for your great glory compassion and grace upon us
might the holy spirit intervene on our behalf~
amen-

I suspect then that many of us will come to hear your insights here then.

There is no part of the body of Christ that is better than any other, each of us is vital in our own special way.

Was this storm expected to be this strong? I pray that God be with the many families in the path of a tornado.

We get storms here all the time, but they normally dont cause such damage (unless its a hurricane).
I woke up to the power out and scared cause it was raging.

our Great and wonderful Father in heaven
praise your holy name we thank you for everything
might you inspire us Lord as fire under our feet
and guide our steps upon this earthly journey
bring us to where it is you want and need us to go
may we take with us new willing brothers and sisters
for it is you that can heal us from the inside out
changing our heart conditions forever in Christ
building us up when this world tears us down
reminding us always of your great compassion
and love shed across all borders for all mankind
for all time, in the name of your Son Jesus Christ
amen

In comparison to the days of the apostles we are a crowded planet
full of a vast variety of cultural beliefs and acceptable norms.

John 11:23 Jesus saith unto her, Thy brother shall rise again. 24 Martha saith unto him, I know that he shall rise again in the resurrection at the last day. 25 Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:
26 And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?
Mathew 7:14 But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.
John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish,
but have everlasting life.

The problem is in the world today few people believe that one simple John 3:16 verse, which makes Mathew 7:14 so relevant. Maybe during the time it was written, the same was the case.

it might be a tight squeeze at times
with the sin nature of my flesh
but no matter how small the eye of a needle is,
nor how narrow that road to eternal life is
believing I shall be in the kingdom of heaven
and thats the most beautiful gift
I could ever receive that I dont deserve
Thank you Father in the name of your Son Jesus Christ for eternal life
Amen~

there is power in isolation
feeling with our mind
hearing with our heart
and knowing God
in his glory of strength
like the silence
before a storm
and reveling in it
with a fresh scent
breathing in a renewed
perspective of delight
as though its been
there waiting
for us to find it
