This community is tolerant of strays, and there are quite a few that get fed regularly behind the bank/grocery store area.
We have a stray/feral? we named Benny that has been coming around for a few years now. I think someone may have left him behind.
Maybe a military family that couldnt find him a home? He was pretty fat when he first started coming around.
We keep doctoring him up, as he has had quite a few bouts. A hawk chased him into our garage making a racket, before flying out.
He's been torn up pretty badly several times, maybe by a fox or dog? Eye infections, ear infections, cuts and scrapes, he comes meowing.
And we keep giving him love, antibiotics from the other pets, clean his wounds, get him fat again, and let him be happy where he wishes.
Benny wont stay in the house for very long, but did bring home a female friend we named Jet. She is anti social and runs when she sees us.
Jet and Benny had a litter of kittens I believe was around the time we first had cold/bad weather, and most did not survive.
They did bring back two we named Rock (the larger darker striped one), and Roll. They are a joy to see, even though they are afraid of humans.
They wouldnt hang around often, and would follow their mother. These days they sleep in our garage, and wake up wanting breakfast.
Benny comes to check on them often, and keep other strays/ferals away. Sometimes Rock and Roll will let us pet them, if we have food.
I have not seen Jet in quite a few weeks now. I simply like seeing these kittens are they are so cute
Our Father in heaven has blessed us with the beauty of his creations, in the name of his Son Jesus Christ.
We enjoy being caretakers of these little miracles he has given us.
