An Original Cartoon A Day

Your political contribution......... LOVE IT!!!!!!!! :D

Thank you, In Awe of Him, as political cartoons are not my area of past interest, mostly I've done more autobiographical or philosophical works. However, the current political stage has me drawn toward it. Movies which are my favorites tend to be like real life circumstances which occur to people to which I can identify, but the current events are as dramatic and humorous as any movie.

I sat with my wife on the living room couch yesterday watching the news and thought I'd sketch some of the stories which was a very entertaining process. I typically sit in my Art Room, listening to classical music and sketch whatever comes to mind, but there's a lot of fodder in current events, watching & listening to Christian-based programs.

Thanks again for your interest and support!

Hello Davey Do;

The man playing the air guitar reminds me of Jeff "Skunk" Baxter, who was an amazing lead guitarist with Steely Dan and the Doobie Brothers. He mixes rock, jazz and blues scales while playing and is still playing today.

HAHAHAHAHAAHA @@@ the star with the air guitar.... These cartoons bring such JOY to my heart...

WAITING for the next.... :D

Edit.... Now here is the challenge Mr. Davey Do.... I notice that your cartoons of self are ALWAYS recognizable... and by that I mean... they always look like your original representation. I know you are an artist... so much of that is your skill... however... for a person like me and I would refer you to post #39 if you are in doubt.. ( I'm thinking of going to therapy over that )...HAHA.... it is a seemingly impossible task to draw anything that would be REPEATABLE so that my character would be recognizable as such. I guess that means I am stuck with a stick figure with bow in hair. HAHAHA.... A random thought from Canada... and from perhaps your biggest fan.
:D

Your ability to ask the right questions or make the correct comments never ceases to amaze me In Awe of Him.

As a child, Charles Schultz's "Peanuts" characters were a favorite, and I would draw them endlessly, finally deciding to come up with my own, but had trouble in creating a character who represented me which I enjoyed drawing. The character went through several in carnations, which were adequate, until I stumbled upon Davey Do, who, BTW, name is derived from Winne the Pooh. Something to which you can identify?

In a nutshell, and to not bore you, once I realized that the sought-out character needed to be simple and recognizable, not unlike your character in post #39. In fact, I attempted to download your drawing and play with it, but the attachment size is so small, it greatly distorted upon enlarging it. The majority of my downloads are 500 to 600 pixels in height and width.

So, if you would like to play around with your very own character, let me know!

Tears from laughter are just streaming down my face... and as I read your post.. and then this comment.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.... Oh my goodness... I burst into uncontrollable laughing... I am sure my landlords suspect that I have finally lost it. HAHAHAHAHAHA.

I intend to do you proud... but it's going to take some time.. because I just am not gifted with drawing.. HOWEVER... I am going to climb this hill and conquer the dragon with my pencil. HA.

I will start with daily doodles... I can handle doodles because there is no expectations... and I'll take it from there.

Winnie the Pooh is very dear to my heart... and oddly... my daughter used to call me Eeyore because I suffered with serious depression. I still have such an affection for all the characters. It's one of my all time favourite stories.

So I definitely have some home work to do... NO pressure.. HA.

This was an experiment with one of my animations from a couple of years ago, as ones which are larger in size cannot be uploaded to CFS. So if I upload to this site, I need to make sure they are the simpler animations.
