An Original Cartoon A Day

I had nightmares of Phyllis Diller as a child...
I loved Phyllis Diller and her comedy. Here is a CFS thread about her.

Good morning LearningToLetGo .... OH WOW.... I am not there yet.... I have just yesterday taken those little dry cakes of paint off of the card.... THAT was NOT a fun task.... I thought the paint disks would simply peel off the paper card.... but NOPE.... I had trouble getting all three colours off the card and they all have paper pieces in them. NOT IMPRESSED. I guess I was supposed to use the paper as the palette??? Makes no sense as I don't want my colours touching each other. HA. I will do the mixing... THANK you very much. HA.

Anyways.... I have not been around much... and so..... I have missed your wonderful contributions. Love the flowers.... I am a flower gal.... Right now I seem to be drawing a lot of birds in my letters to my pen pal. I find them easy to draw. I do them in doodle style. I find it to be a nice way to decorate the paper and then I write beside and around the image.

I should be back to normal and back on Monday... Spring and family has me busy these days... and so my normal SPARE time is now being occupied.... = I'm starting to get a life. HAHA.

Have a wonderful week-end.... THANK you for sharing your wonderful work.

Here ya go, flower gal!
I got my OWN flower..... HA. I am not ready for the world of mixing my own colours... I realize that... and so... I am going to go back to the basics and use the media I already have in the form of two different watercolour sets... plus a huge set ( Staedtler 72 coloured pencils )... and a plethora of different markers.. .which I seem drawn to at this time for EASE of use.. without much effort ( ie. the marker does the work for you ).

Anyways... I have hit a bit of a bump... MY letter writing is going well... in that I am maintaining several letters a week.. however... I got overwhelmed with all the different types of media.... SO.... I have as of this morning... realized that this is what I have done.... and will now.... BACK up the BUS.... and simply sit down and START.

I think Davey Do ( and maybe you HAHA it rhymes ) have a daily morning practice of just doing art... whether it be scribbles/doodles... Just mindless... NO RULES... draw something. I don't do this... I wait until I get a BRAIN wave idea....and guess what???.... they don't ARRIVE... HAHAHA... it's a TRICK.... HAHAHA.

I have done well... because I have finally broken through that blank page... but I need to re-trace my steps a bit.... RELAX.... KEEP it simple and just BEGIN. I need to do an keep some art work for myself rather than only including them in my pen pal's letters.

ANYWAYS... I have this book... It's a big bound sketch book with the word IMAGINE on the cover. It's cheaply made... but this is a good place to keep my beginning progress of simply drawing. I am going to start with my pencil crayons as they should NOT leak on the pages of the sketch book.

I will start this tomorrow. I find that early morning is my BEST time for both creating and writing... so... STAY tuned for some sort of SHOW and TELL.... HAHAHA.

I'm off to my aunt's house for a few nights... I have my paper.. my pens... my markers... pencil crayons...

I will try and bring back something to PRESENT.

The only problem is that with NO internet... I have nothing to reference... so the IDEAS will have to come from my HEAD. HA.

Have a wonderful rest of the week-end LearningToLetGo ... I have so enjoyed watching you CREATE such BEAUTY.

Much Love.... DA SHEEP

bobinfaith, it funny you mention hospital art. Its one of the first things I enjoy when visiting, or have been stuck in one.
Ive walked throughout the halls of Duke in Raliegh, and Novant in Wilmington (among numerous others) just to enjoy the artworks.
Theres been some serious canvases Ive ogled over.

Sometimes I think I should get serious again. Then I remember I enjoy relaxation without stress. My mind paints seriously... lol
These days its play time give away gifts.

Bought some new professional paints in red, yellow and blue. A bit pricey but beautiful. Here's a color "wheel".
