How You Think can Control Your Life
Whatever we see, hear or feed on gets into our mind and then in our heart. It starts with a thought , we speak it , then act on it. This forms habits, developes our character, then becomes a way of life. This works in the postive and also the negative. If we get in a negative cycle in our thinking, we can become bound by many things and may need to seek help to get deliverance to obtain complete freedom. Whatever controls your thoughts controls your life.
Romans 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
We renew our mind to the Word of God which shows us what He thinks and what we are to believe. We choose to believe it and receive what He says. One day the Holy Spirit said something to me that was very profound: Humility is choosing to believe what I said in my Word over choosing to hold to what you have always believed. That’s pride.
2 Corinthians 10:4(For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds 5Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ; 6 And having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled.
Besides putting God Word in our heart to renew our mind, we must pull down every strong hold, and bring every thoughts contrary to God’s Word into obedience to God. If we do not do so immediately, the second they come to mind, and instead entertain them at all, we have lost the battle. This is where most people are defeated. Capture those thoughts and cast them down. Replace them with what the Word of God says about the situation.
It’s the battle of the mind. But God gives us the power and grace to overcome. The more we put these things into practice the more we will begin think like Him.
1 Corinthians 2:16For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? but we have the mind of Christ.
Psalms 19:14 Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer.
