Good morning, brothers and sisters;
We arrived at SFO (San Francisco airport) at 640pm last night.
On Thursday, October 31 we flew from San Francisco to JFK New York, to Heathrow London, then to Bucharest, Romania. We stayed in a hotel close to the airport and the next morning we took a 5 hour train to the city of Suceava where our host, the Suceava Baptist Association, met with us and explained what we would be doing during our mission trip.
On Saturday, November 2 we traveled to Chernivtsi, Ukraine in Western Ukraine. We loaded trucks with pallets of food and distributed them to Churches that hosted refugees. The refugees explained to me that most of them fled from war torn areas of Eastern Ukraine such as Kyiv. As I listened their eyes were weepy. It broke my heart but was blessed to be a listening ear to these men, women and young teens.
After we were done distributing food we stayed in a hotel while in Chernivtsi. The next morning, Sunday, November 3 we went to separate Ukraine Churches and each Pastor preached twice during the morning and evening services.
At the end of the first Ukrainian Church service I asked the Pastor if I could anoint him and his wife with oil. They didn't hesitate and accepted. When their congregation saw them anointed with oil, members came up and asked to be anointed along with their prayer requests which were so many.
We returned in the evening back to Suceava, Romania. For the rest of our missionary we attended and spoke at various events and preached twice again during morning and evening services on Sunday, November 10.
After each service I would take the Pastor and a leader aside (for accountability) and give a love offering to the Pastor for his hard work.
On Monday, November 11 we took the 5 hour train back to Bucharest. On Tuesday, November 12 we flew back to London and 5 hours later connected to an 11 hour flight to San Francisco.
I was blessed with my fellow Pastors. We had good chemistry, teamwork and got along great. We all caught cold symptoms but we kept on working.
While there the Pastors joined in praying for our immediate families, closest loved ones and Churches where we serve.
I shared Christian Forum Site to them and they included our moderators and members in prayer.
Thank you, Cosia and Via, for taking my calls while in London and thank you, Pastor Gary, for calling me while I was in Romania.
Last evening at 640pm we arrived at SFO. I only live 10 minutes from the airport. My friend Michael picked me up and when I got home I was happy to hug my wife Hazel. She knew I needed rest and had a long sleep and am resting today with a weird feeling of jet lag. On Thursday or Friday evening we'll go out for a nice dinner.
I'll post photos later.
This Sunday I'll preach and share my testimony of our missionary trip. My home church took care of my roundtrip flight and gave a generous offering that I matched for each Pastor that I visited and preached at.
Thank you all for your well wishes and prayers. It's good to be home. Hazel and I are going to enjoy Thanksgiving and Christmas with no thoughts of travel in mind for awhile.
Love to you all!
Bob
