Revelation

REVELATION 14:5...........
And in their mouth was found no guile: for they are without fault before the throne of God.

This means the 144 K kept their tongues! They did not believe and then speak the lie of Satan.
They did not curse! They did not blaspheme God! They did not lie! They did not believe the wonders and signs!

They are clothed in the righteousness of God and that friends is how YOU and ME are going to heaven.

We,,,YOU and Me are not going to heaven because we think we are good Christians because we are NOT GOOD!

ALL of us are SINNERS saved by the grace of God though the wok of the Lord Jesus Christ on the cross for US!

REVELATION 14:6-7.......
"And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people, Saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgment is come: and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters. .

The view now shifts back to the LAST half of the 7 year Tribulation.

"Another Angel"???? Is that an actual angel, a spiritual being?

I do not think so. NO angel in the Bible is ever said to have wings!
FYI....No angel in the Bible is said to be a child or a female. Every single angel seen in the Bible is a young male.

IMHO this "Angel" will be a man giving out the Word of God to the whole world. Somehow he will be able to broadcast the gospel of the Lord Jesus.

What is his message..........."Repent, come to Christ NOW and do not take the mark because the hour of judgment is here"!

That is not a popular message today. But it is just as important to preach the wrath of God on unrepented sinners as it is the Love of God to them who are saved.

Why????? Because, if heaven is real and a place we want to go to, then HELL is just as real and we should not want to go there!

Some say today........."Hell dosen't sound very loving and it makes God mean. If that is the way He is, I do not want any part of Him"

That makes the one saying that SOUND righteous and is self serving but it also makes them VERY STUPID! Ignoring the wrath of God and His judgment on sin and sinners who reject Him does not make anyone saved or innocent or righteous.........just condemned!

God doesn't send anyone to Hell, people choose it for themselves. There are only 2 destinations in the afterlife... Heaven (With God) or Hell (Reject God). There is not a fence to stand on. Either you are with God or you are not. I said this to a guy who had said he couldn't worship a God that would send people to Hell. I told him the above statement and he asked me why anyone would be so foolish as to choose to go to Hell, I asked him " Why are you?" He got up and walked away without saying a word.

You are absolutely correct in every way!

REVELATION 14:8...........
"And there followed another angel, saying, Babylon is fallen, is fallen, that great city, because she made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication.

Interesting that we see "Babylon is fallen" twice! OR IS IT????

WHY TWO TIMES????

Right here we see the validation of TWO Babylon's that we will discuss when we get to chapter #17 and #18.

Here John sees them both fall and he will give us the details in those coming chapters. What we see here is again "PROLEPTIC LANGUAGE". That means that it is a proclamation of an event that is so certain to take place that in John's thought, IT ALREAD HAS TAKEN PLACE.

Isaiah 53 and Psalms 22 are two other examples of this process.

The Bible depicts Babylon as the center of Satanic activity from the days following Noah's flood until its fall at the end of the tribulation. Babylon is notorious for its idolatry, blasphemy, and immorality. The book of Daniel reveals its idolatry in the case of Nebuchadnezzar's command to worship a giant image (Daniel 3:1–7) and its blasphemy and immorality in the case of Belshazzar (Daniel 5).

Jeremiah 50:38 describes Babylon as ..........
"a land of images, and they are mad over idols."

Further in Jeremiah 51:7 says:........
"Babylon was a golden cup in the LORD's hand, making all the earth drunken; the nations drank of her wine; therefore the nations went mad."

Babylon is used, in the Bible, both as a literal place and culture and as a symbol of a godless, wicked worldview.

In Scripture, then, "Babylon" is as much a reference to the world's ungodly and sinful nature as anything else.
The Satanic system called Babylon is precisely what the beast and the false prophet promote, but it is doomed to destruction.

According to Revelation 14:8 its end will be double destruction—both in this world, and in the world to com

REVELATION 14:9-10..........
Then a third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, “If anyone worships the beast and his image, and receives his mark on his forehead or on his hand, 10 he himself shall also drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out full strength into the cup of His indignation.

These verses as a unit teach, through the message of this angel that if anyone worships the Beast and takes his Mark then that person is eternally lost forever.

It seems to me that we now have a perfect picture of the "Unpardonable Sin"! By accepting the A/C and his Mark of allegience, humanity has rejected God completely and THAT is the only sin that God can not forgive.

REVELATION 4:12............
And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name.

Hell is not a pretty place. It is not a place that I like to talk about, but non the less....it is a real place! Not talking about it does not be it less real.

REAL is what these Scriptures tell us! Hell is the place that all Christ rejecting people choose to spend eternity.

Jesus taught more on hell than He did heaven.....Matt. 25:41; Mark 9:47; Matt. 5:22; 23:33; Mark 9:44; Matt. 25:46; Luke 16.

Some try to minimize Luke 16 by saying it is a Parable as if Parables are less than the Word of God. Then something to know is that Jesus never calls Luke 16 a Parable. Also, Parables DO NOT have proper name but Luke 16 has Moses, Lazarus and Abraham.

Those who deny the existance of Hell must then remove this Scripture from their Bible as this verse declares that the smoke of the unbelievers' torment ascends forever and ever. The implication is that these condemned souls never see relief from their punishment, whether during the day or at night.

Ezekiel 18:23 assures us that God has no pleasure in the death of the wicked. He offers life and full forgiveness if a wicked person turns away from his sins and does what is right in God's sight (Ezekiel 18:21–22). However, as Proverbs 29:1 states,......
"He who is often reproved, yet stiffens his neck, will suddenly be broken beyond healing."

If sinners insist on sinning against an eternal being, they will face serious eternal consequences. John 3:36 gives two very different choices and the results of those choices:........
"Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life; whoever does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God remains on him."

REVELATION 14:12......(The previouse verse should have been labeled #11)

#12 is actually.........
"Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus."

Now, I am going to say something very controversial here at this point. Realize that I may be wrong. What YOU need to do is read the literal words of the Scripture, do the homework and come to YOUR conclusion.

the literal words in question are....."here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus."

Now, Perhaps those who are called saints from the Old Test. in this verse are in view.. However the CONTEXT does not allow that to be the case.
Mabe it is just the Jews. Again we know that by this time a great number of GENTILES have been saved.

What ever the case is we see clearly that It is said they keep God's commandments. What does that mean?????
1. This may be a reference to the Ten Commandments that God gave specifically to Israel.
2. To be saved one must keep all the commandments.
3. Those saved accepted Jesus as the Christ and they KEPT THE COMMANDMENTS of God and refuse the MARK..

When He gave Israel the Ten Commandments, He said, "I am the LORD your God, who brought you [the Israelites] out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery" (Exodus 20:2).

Now, it seems to me, and this is very difficult for me to say as I am a GRACE person but it seems to me that in this 3 and 1/2 year GREAT Tribulation, the gospel has changed. Because of that I lean to #3 above.
1. One must by faith accept Christ and
2. then keep the commandments of God.
3. Refuse the Mark of the Beast.

I would encourage those following along to remember that In each era or dispensation, or time frame, God has engaged people in a different ways, but He has always commanded them to believe in Him.

Recall that God walked with Adam in the garden, and God spoke directly to Abraham. God spoke to many people in many different ways but most recently has spoken through His Son.

In the time frame God saved people with a BOAT!

Abraham believed in the Person he knew as Yahweh and who later came to earth as a man named Jesus.

God then worked with and commanded that His people follow the Law of Moses.

Then God again changed His plan so that faith in Jesus the Christ was the only way to God

In the latter days of the tribulation, people will still be commanded to believe in Jesus, and those called saints (or holy ones) will obey by having faith or belief in Jesus PLUS....... here are they that keep the commandments of God and REFUSE the Mark!.

John notes that here is the patience or perseverance of the saints, referencing the saints’ steadfastness in refraining from worshiping the Antichrist and taking his Mark.

REVELATION 14:13.........
"And I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Write, Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth: Yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labours; and their works do follow them."

In contrast to the wicked who cannot rest day or night in their torment (Revelation 14:11), the tribulation martyrs enjoy the blessing of rest from their labors. God will compensate them for their faithful works on His behalf. These blessed individuals are the last martyrs of the tribulation. They are worthy of their reward, because they will have suffered so much and so severely during the beast's reign of terror.

This verse points out that these believers "die in the Lord." This phrase marks them as new creations in Christ (2 Corinthians 5:17).

Unless raptured before dying, every person will keep an appointment with death. He or she will either die in the Son or in their sin. Those who die in the Son enjoy eternal rest. Those who die in their sin experience eternal unrest.

Jesus extends the invitation in Matt. 11:28-29.......
"Come to me…and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me…and you will find rest for your souls".

Time line here is the last part of the 3 and 1/2 year Tribulation.

REVELATION 14:14.......
"And I looked, and behold a white cloud, and upon the cloud one sat like unto the Son of man, having on his head a golden crown, and in his hand a sharp sickle."

Remember......
We are in a Parenthetical chapter. In this ---John now skips to Armageddon.

John looks heavenward and sees "one like a son of man" seated on a white cloud. This person wears a crown and carries a sickle in his hand. Some Bible teachers identify the person in John's vision as an angel, but it seems best to identify this figure as the Lord Jesus Christ. Recall that John lived with the Lord Jesus for over 3 years.

Jesus is called the "the Son of Man" in Revelation 1:13 and is often identified as the Son of Man in the Gospels (Matthew 8:20; 9:6; 10:23; Mark 2:10; 9:9; 10:45; Luke 6:22; 12:40; 18:31; 21:27; John 13:31).

Also, the crown on His head suggests that He is returning to earth to reign as king. Further, He holds a sickle with which to reap a harvest of the wicked for judgment. Only Jesus has the prerogative to execute judgment, as the apostle Paul told the Athenians: in Acts 17:31......
"[God] has fixed a day on which he will judge the world in righteousness by a man whom he has appointed; and of this he has given assurance by raising him from the dead".

REVELATION 14:15........
And another angel came out of the temple, crying with a loud voice to him that sat on the cloud, Thrust in thy sickle, and reap: for the time is come for thee to reap; for the harvest of the earth is ripe.

The imagery is that of the ancient Palestinian farmer who first gathers his ripe grapes into a winepress and then smashes them with his bare feet to release the red juice.

For centuries God has delayed His judgment, giving sinners ample opportunity to repent. But, as in the days of Noah, His Spirit will not always strive with man (Genesis 6:3). His judgment will be swift, relentless, and thorough. This sickle is sharp (Revelation 14:14) and will leave no wicked person standing, just as a sharp sickle swung into a harvest of wheat leaves no stalk standing.

This is a reaping of the wicked lost who rejected Christ and took the Mark of the beast.

The Time Line is Armageddon.

REVELATION 14:16..........
And he that sat on the cloud thrust in his sickle on the earth; and the earth was reaped
.

The "sickle" was sharp and final. This is the saddest day in humanity.

Humanity is as bad now, maybe worse that it was before the flood and is now being delt with by a Holy God.

All the armies of the world have gathered in the place called Armagedón.

Consequently, the earth was reaped. Not a single unbeliever anywhere on the planet will escape Jesus' judgment.

The psalmist asked in Psalms 130:2............
"If you, O LORD, should mark iniquities, O Lord, who could stand?".

After sinning in the perfect environment God had placed them in, Adam and Eve tried to hide from God's presence by hiding themselves among the trees of the garden. But their attempt was unsuccessful, and God confronted them about their sin (Genesis 3:8–13). Likewise, when Christ thrusts in His sickle to judge the wicked, no sinner will be able to hide from Him.

REVELATION 14:17.........
"And another angel came out of the temple which is in heaven, he also having a sharp sickle".

Another angel emerges from the temple in heaven = he has full authority from God for what he is about to do. He, too, carries a sickle.

As I have warned and reminded all....... Unlike most of Revelation, the segment contained in chapters 12 through 15 jumps back and forth in time, with this passage looking ahead to the end of the tribulation = PARRENTHETICAL!

The reference here to angels in Revelation 14 shows they are servants of God and dedicated to doing His will and also indicates the amount of power that they posses.

REVELATION 14:18
"And another angel came out from the altar, which had power over fire; and cried with a loud cry to him that had the sharp sickle, saying, Thrust in thy sharp sickle, and gather the clusters of the vine of the earth; for her grapes are fully ripe."

Another angel, who has control over fire, emerges from the altar.

This passage carries several layers of symbolism. The original language portrays the grapes as mature and full of juice. +
That "symbolizes" to mature, juicy grapes and indicates the wickedness of unbelievers has reached its peak.

Maybe or perhaps it points to the wicked rich who live luxuriously in the kingdom of the beast. Either way, the days of sinful indulgence are coming quickly to an end.

Psalm 73:18–20 describes the wicked rich as they feel God's hand of judgment upon them. The passage says:........
"Truly you set them in slippery places; you make them fall to ruin. How they are destroyed in a moment, swept away utterly by terrors! Like a dream when one awakes, O Lord, when you rouse yourself, you despise them as phantoms."

REVELATION 14:19-20............
And the angel thrust in his sickle into the earth, and gathered the vine of the earth, and cast it into the great winepress of the wrath of God.
And the winepress was trodden without the city, and blood came out of the winepress, even unto the horse bridles, by the space of a thousand and six hundred furlongs.

The city mentioned in this verse is old Jerusalem. The judgment God executes on the wicked centers outside Jerusalem, appropriately so, because that's where Jesus bore God's wrath for our sins. His cross was located at Golgotha, which was located outside Jerusalem (John 19:16–18).

Again.......this passage uses the symbolism of grapes in a winepress to describe the eventual defeat of the wicked in the end times.
As grapes are crushed and broken to release wine, the bodies of God's enemies will be smashed in a bloody defeat. Taken in absolutely literal terms, this verse describes a cascade of blood some five or six feet high and 180 miles long.

This is the Mount of Slaughter!

This does not mean that the blood will be 6 feet deep and 180 miles long. This is a very symbolic picture. Some suggest that what's described is a 1600-stadia zone of carnage during battle, so violent that blood is splattered as high as the head of a horse.

In other words, if all the blood of the dead was added up in this battle, the carnage would be up to a horses head or about 6 feet.

Whether entirely or partly poetic, one thing is certain: this judgment creates a gory scene. Revelation 19:13 pictures Jesus as having blood on His robe as He rides into warfare against the wicked. Although some believe this is the blood Jesus shed on the cross, others see this as the blood of His enemies. The interpretation that it is the blood of His enemies is supported by the prophetic picture given in Isaiah 63:2–4. Jesus' defeat of His enemies at the end of the tribulation will be absolute and terrible.

The Time line of this Parenthetical vision is Armageddon.

REVELATION 15:1...........
And I saw another sign in heaven, great and marvellous, seven angels having the seven last plagues; for in them is filled up the wrath of God.

Chapter #15 & #16 go together to bring to and end the chronological ordder of events that lead to the 2nd Coming of Christ. We will se that end in chapter #19.

Now to some, this stating and re-stating is confusing and it has even lead some to misunderstand what is happening. However,
this idea of stating and re-stating in more detail is common with prophecy, and with Hebrew literature in general.

When you read the story of Creation, at 1st it seems as if the same story is told twice. But upon closer inspection you will agree I hope that what we see is a STATED even and then that event is explained later in more detail.

I hope that you recall, when we already saw what seemed to be the end in Rev. 6:12-17. However, Then John took us over the same material in greater detail again. That is common in Middel Eastern literature.

In Revelation 12 he saw two signs: the sign of the woman, representing persecuted Israel, and the sign of the dragon, representing Satan. The sign of the woman concerns God's protection and preservation of His persecuted people until the end of the tribulation. The sign of the dragon concerns God's bitter foe, the Devil, who spews his hatred against the woman.

Now John sees another awesome sight in heaven. It was another sign that John described as "great and amazing."

Seven angels having the seven last plagues: This idea is also in Lev. 26:21..........
" Then, if you walk contrary to Me, and are not willing to obey Me, I will bring on you seven times more plagues, according to your sins.

These seven last plagues are God’s judgment on a disobedient and contrary world.

The Time Frame is now the last part of the Last 3 and 1/2 year period known as the GREAT Tribulation.

REVELATION 15;2............
"And I saw as it were a sea of glass mingled with fire: and them that had gotten the victory over the beast, and over his image, and over his mark, and over the number of his name, stand on the sea of glass, having the harps of God."

"Sea of glass" = peace, calmness and tranquility.

"Mingled with fire" = Tribulation, persecution.

"Having harps of God" = These are symbolical of heavenly melodies and songs of praise.

REVELATION 15:3..............
And they sing the song of Moses the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying, Great and marvellous are thy works, Lord God Almighty; just and true are thy ways, thou King of saints.

The harpists joined in singing two songs: ........
1. the song of Moses and the
2. song of the Lamb.

Both songs celebrate redemption by God's almighty hand. The song of Moses was sung initially on the banks of the Red Sea after God had miraculously led His people through the Red Sea and then drowned Egypt's cavalry in the rushing water (Exodus 15).

The song of the Lamb presumably celebrates Jesus as the Passover Lamb, whose blood redeemed the tribulation saints. They extoll the Lord as performing great and amazing deeds that only the Almighty one could perform. They characterize the Lord as just and true in His ways. His judgments are just, and He makes no mistakes because His ways are true. The wicked deserve the punishment they are about to receive.

REVELATION 15:4.........
“Who shall not fear thee, O Lord, and glorify thy name? for thou only art holy: for all nations shall come and worship before thee; for thy judgments are made manifest.”

At this time the people of the Jews shall seek after Christ, and fear him and his goodness; the forces of the Gentiles shall be brought into Zion, whose heart shall then fear.

The Lamb is not only perfectly holy, as man, but infinitely and essentially holy, as God, and the fountain of holiness to his people, as Mediator: this character seems to be given in opposition to antichrist, who arrogantly assumes the title of holiness to himself, when it only belongs to Christ.

REVELATION 15:5...........
And after that I looked, and, behold, the temple of the tabernacle of the testimony in heaven was opened:

After hearing the harps and voices blending in the song of Moses and the song of the Lamb—songs of redemption and victory— John looked and saw the temple being opened in heaven.

This temple is a real temple.

In Revelation 8:3–5 the prayers of God's people ascend to the golden altar.

In Revelation 11:19, we read that God's temple in heaven opened and revealed the ark of the covenant. When God commanded Moses to build the tabernacle's furnishings, He instructed him in Ex. 25:40 and 26:30 and 27:8 ......
"See that you make them after the pattern for them, which is being shown you on the mountain"

Hebrews 9:23 calls the tabernacle's furnishings, "copies of the heavenly things." So, currently there is a temple in heaven, and John saw that it was opened in heaven.

However, the New Jerusalem will not include a temple,
"for its temple is the Lord God the Almighty and the Lamb" (Revelation 21:22).
