Sin and the Internet

I don't think guns are cool.
They just a weapon.

A clean shot is best for an animal but you have to shoot straight and get them at the right point. Same with knife, or any other weapon if your intent is to take someone's life.

Fireworks can be amazing or they can hurt and damage things. I don't really have any fascination with what people do to hurt each other. We can pray God lead us out of temptation and deliver us from evil.

Neighbourhood watches just make ppl a bit paranoid so they install cc cameras everywhere but that doesn't always stop people being naughty. If you going to sin, then even if you get caught or whatever, nothing is going to stop you doing it if you love that sin.
If you enjoy being police well, that's a full time job but I'd rather get on with my life than do that. Everyone needs to learn health and safety and stay close to God. Who is our refuge.

The internet can be very useful, helpful and informative. No doubt.

But… the sheer magnitude of sinful, soulless and disgusting trash available on it makes me think…

Many of the current worlds more disturbing ideas, practices, and pop-culture customs are sprouted, nurtured, propagated and then spread on the internet. The web works knowingly, or unknowingly, to make the abnormal normal, and the unthinkable acceptable.

Without the help of the web, much of the worlds chaos would not see daylight and then wither and die a quick and deserving death from neglect. Of course the web didn’t invent sin, far from it, however, the internet may be Satans most fertile and useful tool in sowing and spreading sin in today’s world.

As with most anything mankind makes for himself, there is bad and there is good.

For example, we can look at examples of past, bad behavior can manifest itself in ways we never might have thought would come to pass:

Was surprised to see this topic here.
People will find new ways to commit a sin.
Not new sin, just new ways to do it.
It was nice to see how ever that the topics discussed were done so in a very open and civil way in here. Another example of why so far I am enjoying this forum allot.
If we can not discuss with out judging each other. We as Christians and followers of Christ are done for.

No, I am not by the way pulling up old threads on purpose. But we were talking about Moose, Elk and Hunting and then I found this.

I have met so many people that have been turned away from Christ because of others, who call themselves Christians, have judged them and condemned them for their sins. These people told me that if that is what it means to be a Christian, then they did not want to be a part of it. I encouraged them to get a bible and read about Jesus and what he taught, Jesus spoke with LOVE not condemnation. We are all sinners and none of us is righteous. When we are saved then we are covered with Christ's Righteousness, so that when GOD looks at me, HE no longer sees Dave the sinner, but rather, the righteousness of Christ that covers me. I praise and thank Him daily for this gift.

Good morning, Dave F.;

Last night I received a long text and was "called out" by an uncle on a decision I made regarding another family member. I explained (which I didn't feel I owed to anyone) but he still called me out on it.

I'm more of a face to face person but in these times the internet can be used to lash out via text without confronting the other.

I felt manipulated when he said, "you're a Godly person in the Church!" My decision didn't meet his approval or morals.

As I stayed focused on the Lord He guarded my heart and tongue and I didn't take the bait.

Last week I had a conversation with another family member who reached out to me regarding her situation. Between the two of us we developed a comfortable understanding. That was the moral decision, it was the right thing to do.

The family foundation is a wonderful blessing but family also causes us to let down our hair and say things that can take away the Lord's glory. With family it can be tough to maintain our walk with Jesus.

Soon I will speak to my uncle who I have a great relationship with, calmly. Through love less a defensive spirit, I pray the Lord will use me to maintain the wonderful family foundation that I have known for most of my life.

God bless you, Dave F.

Your words are a true testament to the ways of life, and the gift we have is to be used in his Glory, not ours.
