Journal The Cabin

Got another email from Bruce Big Moose ... Have you even given him YOUR email??? Seems he has joined the military.
He said he'll contact you after he is finished his service.

Judging by how the sun was shining on that picture, I think Bruce was on the American side of the border. He did go south for the winter. Now I guess he is an American goose.

Speaking of... an American goose is the thing Canadian women are fearful of when they travel to the States.

That's good! Writing with pen and paper is really beneficial and has its own charm, do you believe me?
Moreover, physical letters feel more precious and warm, unlike emails.
It really is a beautiful experience. I feel like I have met up with an old friend that I have not seen in a long time.
The fountain pen I purchased this week is from Japan... and it writes so smoothly. There is a bit of a learning
curve with it... holding it properly and learning how much pressure to use.... things we don't think of when using
a normal ball point or ink gel pen.

I am very excited to receive some letters in the mail.... and it is wonderful to work on something and then send it off like a present.

HELLO.... 911.... This is da sheep.... I am stuck in the attic... no time to explain...
Could you tell Mr. Moose that I need his strong frame??

My cousin... my friend... my dear comrade ... is here from the FRENCH land
of which I'm so GLAD.

Please send help now... I've a meal to prepare... and a room to get ready
for Ms Lillian and her flare.

My cousin Lillian is HERE..... Oooo la la.... and oui oui.

Who's that Davey Do guy??? HAHAHAHAHAHA

Oh JOI de vivre.... C'est parfait!!! MERCI beau coups and more beau coups.

By any chance do you happen to know the recipe for choked snake??? You know.... Etouffee ( with the sticks on the e).... It means CHOKED/DEAD... I would really enjoy a plate of that.

Thank you Mr. Moose.... YOU ARE THE BESTEST!!!!!

You both are scaring me! πŸ₯Ά!!!

I going to play it safe and resort to tea and crumpets.
😎 Bwahahahahaha!

In Awe of Him, I know better than to have escargot as a French appetizer around here (even though I do enjoy them).
I do love breads of any kind, and crumpets are ok. Its what you put on one that makes them good or bad.
Now gimme southern biscuits with sausage gravy, and I will gain two pounds before I leave the table.
If my daughter, or bestie made them make that five. One cheats though and uses Southern Biscuit Mix, found only in southern Americana.

You made me spit my coffee. HAHAHA.... I am literally reading this upon waking up and oh my goodness.. the Cabin was busy as I slept.
It is a dish that I have never had..... In all honesty... I am not a fan of French Cuisine. It's fussy... and I don't like fussy or fancy....
I have had squid... and shrimp in different ways... I really like the bang bang shrimp. Had it as an appetizer at a restaurant once.

Thank you for stopping in.... I see we have a newbie on board... so I will address her next to WARN her that this thread can get interesting.

Have a beautiful day DEAR thenami

welcome to the Cabin.... This place is BETTER than virtual reality because we make things up as we go along. :D

I will give you a bit of a background story about this thread called the Cabin.

Last year... I decided I would like to start a journal... my intentions were to post my thoughts... and also to share pictures of the jigsaw puzzles I do on a seasonal basis. I called the thread... The Garage.

I don't have any words to describe what occurred but the Garage morphed into something that today... I find absolutely COMFORTING and JOYFUL.

In 2025... we decided the Garage was getting too crowded and so we found a cabin. The Garage is a thread that is now ARCHIVED... so if you have any interest in seeing how this ALL BEGAN... I'm sure you would find many laughs along with an understanding of why we talk about certain things.

I adopted our resident moose.... You will perhaps see him walking around and his user name is Big Moose... however.. out of respect... I call him Mr. Moose. He often visits the cabin due to a huge stash of peanut butter cups and fizzy drinks ( ginger ale ) that I leave for him in the shed. He has a nice little set up over there. He also loves to cook so he will lavish us with FANCY meals once in awhile. Mr. Moose is MOST DEAR to the Cabin.

I am DA sheep ( and I know technically the proper word would be a lamb ) however.... I do not respect many of the rules in the English language and I enjoy making up my own words.... as can be seen in my avatar 1739177856474.png

Now then and moving right along... We also have a family of snails living with us here at the Cabin. They were sent to me via >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> wait for it>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> snail mail. 🐌🐌🐌🐌🐌🐌🐌🐌🐌🐌🐌🐌🐌🐌🐌🐌🐌🐌🐌🐌🐌🐌🐌🐌🐌🐌🐌🐌🐌🐌🐌🐌🐌🐌🐌🐌🐌🐌🐌🐌🐌

I think there are about 26.... Cosia and PaducahLuke named them all and there is a list in the Garage however... no need to try and dig that all up.... we affectionately just call them our beloved snail family. The mom and dad are Gert and Bert... and 2 snails from that entire gang are known to make appearances... Cedric who is in his rebellious teen age years...( He does not show up much but did make a music video on moving day ). The only snail name we remember here is FRANNIE..... Oh my goodness... little Ms. Frannie has a HUGE
HUGE obsession and devotion to Mr. Moose.... She always wants to be with him. I think she must have gotten some lipstick for a Christmas present... because one day... Mr. Moose had a wee nap... and when he woke up... this happened.

So.... that is a brief introduction.... This is a place to hang out and add humour or random facts... or just to relax.

We also have a resident Pastor who even has his OWN chair right beside Mr. Moose. HAHA... His name is Bob... our WONDERFUL and very teaseable frequent visitor.

I really hope you do enjoy your time here in the Forums. I do at times make posts that are more on the serious side. This place is just a SMORGASBORD of EVERYTHING.

WELCOME to you.

You both are scaring me! πŸ₯Ά!!!
Where have you been that you seem totally unaware and unaffected by the fact that we have had a serious owl possession threat ..... as well as a visit from that slippery creature that slithers and sssssssssssss ????

I have gone through three boxes of Mr. Moose's paper bags that he breaths into for his anxiety attacks... and I have been spending quite a bit of time in the attic..... but NOW.... my cousin ... my sophisticated cousin from LE PARIS has arrived... so NOW it's time for me to CAST my FEARS onto WHOEVER will take them... so that I can enjoy my visit.

OH right...... If memory serves me properly... WHILE Mr. Moose was risking his life.... YOU were standing on a CHAIR.... screaming like a GIRL. HAHAHAHAHAHAHA

OH... and .....
1739187017859.png these slippers are a life-changer.
