Journal The Cabin

and I cannot explain why I am drawn more to the cold water sports....
Well.........your water is cold 9 months of the year, so just the law of averages puts you way more likely to have cold water. On top of that, as a Canadian, you are legally required to be an ice hockey fan.
Edit..... oh and for the record... This little black sheep does NOT know how to swim..... HA.... I simply walk into the lake up to my neck and then float and dog paddle. HA.
Maybe Bruce will show up to be your lifeguard. Just "HONK" 50 times very loudly before you go in and I'm sure Bruce will show up. :D Flap your arms while you do it so people won't think you are crazy.

What a glorious walk this morning. It was quite a bit cooler than yesterday and I even had leg warmers on this morning... however that is because the wind was up and so... it SEEMS way colder than the actual temperature.

I love the EARLY morning.... I think y'all know that about me ( notice my American southern accent coming out :) ).

So.... because it's winter... it doesn't get light out till after 7 am. I like to leave by 6 am.... and yesterday... I believe I was out at 5:30 am. It's the most beautiful time of the day... so quiet... so peaceful and so STILL.

This morning.... as usual... I started my walk with a GREETING to GOD. I do this every single morning... whether I'm walking or not... but somehow... it seems more special when I walk.

My greeting goes like this.... Good Morning Father... I love YOU.... Good Morning Jesus... I love YOU.... Good Morning Holy Spirit... I love you... .My precious and most perfect TRIUNE GOD!

I then ask for protection and guidance of my steps... and then I begin my journey.

This morning I was introduced to the wolf moon... I'm not sure what the other guy was doing but OH my.... the wolf moon hung in the sky ever so REGAL and glowing. I don't often pay attention to the cycle of the moon... but this moon was a full moon and those are my favourite.

Then I got to see the snow glistening like diamonds under the street lights and that brought me to the topic of the beautiful diamond ring that FATHER gave me for Christmas... so we talked about that... and I told him how much I cherished having a symbol of my deep love and devotion to Him. ( and to be clear.... I do not HEAR GOD speak... yet I know He listens when I do ) HA.

My total walk was 4.5 miles round trip... It's a walk I have done so many times that I can almost do it with my eyes closed. HA.

I am so BLESSED..... oh my I am BLESSED beyond MEASURE.... and it seems these last few mornings... God is delivering yet another supply of GREAT JOY.

It is WELL with my soul. I am so so happy to be part of this forum family.

Edit* and I almost forgot... my niece is coming to pick me up in half an hour for an ADVENTURE. :D

Where I live... we don't eat fish in the winter... due to the thick coat of fur they grow for the 9 months of which you speak.
They usually shed their skins in ONE FELL SWOOP and fur keepers gather in the lake at the end of April to collect all the pelts.

Well.... let me say THIS!!!!!!!!!

It's minus 14 and with the wind chill feels like minus 19... SO.... I suited up. :D
two pair of socks.... long johns ( which I call long Jeanette's HAHAHA )... my jeans.... and then a sport type pair of lined stretchy pants that nicely fit over EVERYTHING.... then..... my leg warmers.... my winter boots and that is just the BOTTOM half of me.

On my head was a long scarf tied tightly.... a knitted toque... a wind breaker jacket with the hood pulled up.... then my winter coat with yet another hood over that. Plus... I had a t-shirt...and a sweatshirt on.

GOOD GRIEF is about all I can say about this walk. There was NOTHING pleasant about it. HAHAHA.

Oh my goodness.... the extra layers were ANNOYING to say the least... however... I WAS toasty warm... but I won't be doing that again.

To make matters more interesting... I thought I would lighten the load by removing my glasses. HAHA. I swear that I ran into approximately 5 monsters hiding in the bushes in various locations. I pretended I was INVISIBLE so that they could not see me.... but I SAW THEM. HAHAHAHA.

So.... that is the report on my morning walk... 4 miles... 1.5 hours... and I am EXHAUSTED!!!!

However..... my coffee tastes DELICIOUS!!!!!

Have a beautiful day everyone.... I love you ALL.

Reminds me of Ralphie's brother, Randy, in 'A Christmas Story.'

We need one of these for Frannie and her lipstick. HA

Bruce emailed me this morning.... He stopped at his cousin's house and they had a bon fire last night.

So this is me and my slow computer giving me fits this morning. I click on this and the sound doesn't load until 30 seconds later than the video. I see bonfire. Check. I see goose with flappy wings. Check. Still no sound. Goose appears to be over some sort of container or, God forbid, a kettle over the fire. What is In Awe of Him posting to us all????!!!!!??? It looks like the goose is going to get cooked! Still no sound. Wait, what is that goose doing? Then the sound comes on and he is playing a conga drum!

bobinfaith .... Mon casse-tete ( little hat on the first e HA ) is coming along slowly but nicely.

Ahhhh 🫤!!!

If you look closely where it says, "limited edition 1000", is a dark image. Those are people sitting drinking coffee. That's part of the puzzle.

When I looked at those 1000 pieces I frowned at the thought of putting this puzzle together. Maybe someday.

😎 👍

My hubby doing our puzzle. Remember he does the careful - look shape, colour, size method and I do the random pick up and place method. No guessing who does most of the puzzle.
It's looks like your husband has a GOOD board... I do NOT have good board for my puzzling. I am going to work on that. Right now my 3 foot by 2 foot board is made of foam core... I have had it for three years and it gets the job done.. however... it's not sturdy.

I tried your method of puzzling and well...... In theory you would think your method should work because you are going in BLINDLY... However... your husband's method is what I have become accustomed to. HAHA.

Good morning my most beautiful and precious forum family.

My walk this morning was GLORIOUS.... What a difference 10 degrees makes. NO leg warmers required. HA
I simply put on layers and off I went.

I thought it might be interesting to share this about my walk.
Every morning I walk across from the lake... and on my journey... I pass by a waste water treatment plant which can be challenging to the senses if the wind is blowing the wrong way. HA.
I also pass a train yard... and I love that place... even though it is all fenced up and I cannot enter.... the sights and sounds are always so interesting to me.... the train engines starting... the big trucks that come in... and yesterday when I was walking by.... I heard a chain saw going. The one thing I don't enjoy is the smell of the exhaust from the trains... that stuff is YUCKY.
Then... once I pass the train yard.... I get to the tunnel which is only about 15 years old.... and it is a wonderful thing because it's like a short-cut from the lake to the down town core. I just looked it up...

In 2009, a pedestrian/cycling underpass was built to physically connect the Downtown and the Waterfront.

Anyways.... It's Thursday.... grocery shopping day with Margaret... and I'm ready to go.

Have a wonderful day everyone.
