Computers have huge memory reserves now. But like humans, they can get full to capacity.
It is amazing the technology we have now, despite its many downsides There is much positive to come from it. google has come out tops in the search engine stakes. I remember when there were many search engines to choose from and it was confusing, and what a novelty it was to search through everything and find information just by clicking on some words on a screen.

Will anyone go back to scrolls that you could only see one scripture at a time? You had to have an entire cupboard for the first part of the Bible. Only one per synagogue/church. And only one person could read it at a time and they must use a stick cos if they touched the scripture with their hands it might ruin it.

When Bible readings and prayer worked its way to the Supreme court, he instructed his legal team to not respond so those items which passed without challenge.

It was also LBJ who pushed an Amendment many years ago, that threatened religious institutions with a loss of their tax-exempt status if they openly advocate their political views.

Our nation certainly needs biblical readings and prayer in Washington (after listening to the mess on the news today, that's for sure).

Here in the deep south we have our cultural values rooted in Christianity. There was quite a conversation at my mechanics shop today about one congressman in particular. We are pro military being surrounded by so many bases, too. Such a well spoken man and a retired Air Force pilot whom served in the military for 14 years.

We discussed America's greatest problems.

Being not an american cos I dont live there but from what I hear you have lots of problems with guns and people shooting each other practically every week.

In nz when there was that mass shooting in a mosque in christchurch the reason we were so upset as a nation is that that kind of thing does not happen all the time and most people use guns only for hunting animals for food.

For nz (which is not the world but maybe a very small microcosm of it) the problems we face are things like alcohol abuse, drugs, I think everyone knows at least one person who was killed as a result of alcohol, usually in a car crash.

Regarding prayer in parliament or in america, washington, I think if your politicians arent praying themselves then get a group together and pray for them.

In england what they did back in the days where they made a lot of changes in legislation because one group, called the Clapham group, were regularly praying. This was william wilberforce legacy. And things were pretty bad and going downhill before that in their society. They had terrible working conditions and no welfare and hardly anybody was reading the Bible or going to church.

North Carolina? I was stationed at Fort Bragg in the mid 1990s. As for the news, I seldom go beyond the headline and, only if it catches my attention, do I go deeper. I use to be so into the news. Now, I have surrendered.

Really? So, if a law is passed and media was eliminated, what then? Ok, I do not like to watch the news (national), because I know the spin that is presented from either the left or the right. I don't do news papers, but do read news on-line. When I do this, I pay attention to several things. First, I look at the "art work." If I see that the images presented are intended to cause an emotional reaction, I am done with it. I then look at the language. If I see that the language is also intended to impact me emotionally, I am done with that two. Now, you really to find several sources the same subject.

As I look at the current "head lines," most appears to be about Trump, the impeachment thing, and something about a whistle-blower (Don't care). Howard Stern slams someone, Demi Moore admitted to an affair, and Ashton Kutcher admitted he was fired from movie (Really don't care). TSA agent asked non-pregnant woman if she was pregnant (Ok, read that one cause I've been there and done that). Earthquake strikes Indonesia, at least 20 killed. (read that one). Ok, done with the news.

Now local news: Ok, local news: Man accused of abusing body of missing person; man fatally shot while driving pickup; Deputy accused of falsifying records acquitted; woman attacks Florida Keys couple with razor; Plantation police search for missing 72 year-old woman; Police seek 2 men involved in grand theft; Motorcyclist dead after crash in Miami Beach; Charter school bomb threat; Strangers caught having sex in woman’s Key West yard (appears to be two men or one man with a very unattractive woman); Police arrest man seen in video punching girl at youth basketball game; and Police investigate threat on Marlins’ FB Page. (Ok, now I'm depressed/

I curious because I want to fellowship with you, brother. May I ask, why do you feel the media is considered one of the greatest problems in our time?

Compared to quality news reporting by the Huntley-Brinkley Report, and Walter Cronkite back in the 50s - 70s, the media has definitely changed in these times when we define "journalism" with "opinionated reporting" resulting in horrible news. But at the end of the day, they have chosen an opportunistic career and don't see a lot of suffering in their chosen profession.

I really don't watch much news; today I happened to be watching while my mechanic was working on my car. The questioning of Maguire by Congress interrupted our peaceful shop gathering with the circus show (in the witch hunt to try to impeach President Trump).

In our nation the media has far to much control to sway public view, so I do hear what you are saying Chili. Politically they can do some damage. For example the congressman I speak of was the only one defending Maguire's reputation (retired Navy Seal), basically saying this is all a witch hunt which has existed from the time Trump held his position. Does the media have anything posted about this congressman? Nope; I cant find any reference to his questioning.

"The media" is just too broad a term. National media outlets have to sell advertising time to make the kind of money they pay their people and their boards expect. To do this, they must cater to their base. No one watching CNN will continue, unless there is Trump bashing. No one watching FOX will continue, unless we kneel to the Trump. What we don't have is a sensible middle ground for people to measure both side of the argument with unemotional (i.e. "witch hunt") language. It's not their fault, it is our fault. We created these monsters and now they must be fed or dragged under water until they stop moving. Heck, even Public Radio is playing the game.

I am old enough to remember that News used to be a report of something that had happened. Facts were given and we were informed of what took place.

Today however, IMO, news has become what some person wants you to know not what has happened.

Personal opinions and slanted views is not news. That is "Propaganda".

All news outlets are biased toward an eye-catching narrative. The higher the profile the more the audience. It does not matter if the story is true or not, only if it is eye/ear appealing. The Washington news media is biased toward Washington-based solutions. And the political press in the U.S. has an overwhelming leftward tilt, mostly on social issues, but also on economic matters.

Studies consistently show that reporters and editors stand to the left of the American center. Fact: More than 30 former journalists served in the Obama administration and nothing comparable happens in G.O.P. administrations.

I agree with you. President Trump is not my most favorite person but I did not place him in that position...God did. Now what would the world look like today if Mrs. Clinton had been elected????

The obvious observation IMO is that Conservatives are an alien species in many newsrooms. The resulting slanted and occasionally hostile coverage leaves conservatives rightly distrustful that the news media will cover them fairly. This breeds the perception that the mainstream media is out to get conservatives, and this perception has truly harmful consequences.

When the news media says that Mr. Trump is this and that and is a liar and thug, what they are really saying is that those who voted for him are those things.

Remember Mrs. Clintons remark of...……."Despicable". That was said to intimidate Mr. Trumps supporters.

The reason we are seeing such media bias is because those in the media are predominantly liberals who hate President Trump. They can not accept the fact that Mrs. Clinton lost and they will continue to blast/expand non-truths and do and say whatever they can to disgrace President Trump AND those who support him.

The purpose of reporting the news should be to educate the public about what is happening in the world around them. There’s an entire writing style dedicated to this called informative writing. However, this type of reporting is “boring” and doesn’t push sales.

The more inflammatory pieces attract more attention, so that influences editors to push only “exciting” stories that tug at people’s emotions and whether they are true and factual does not enter the conversation........"Follow the money"!

These days people get their news from social media, their facebook friends not the conglomerates that are billion dollar corporations now.

The news that people actually want to hear is about their friends and family, not every single thing thats going on in the world. Things like, who graduated from school, who got married, when so and so baby is due, someone got a new job, or someones birthday, someone went on holiday to a cool place, a pet that went missing, or theres a new movie or book out. We are moving house. Really basic stuff like that.

Peoples problems are also sometime shared but these tend to be, this couple split up, or someone died and that the most devastating news to anyone. Its really all about people, and its people that we know.

Ok, don't mean to go off into a political moment, but not sure Mr. Trump needs that much help in disgracing himself. He fuels most of the attacks with the child-like manner he conducts himself. No, I did not vote for him, but I know he is my president. I can't even argue that I don't agree with some of his positions. To me; however, the President is foremost a diplomat. He has totally eliminated that skill set from the Presidential tool-bag. He loves the attention and does anything he can to keep the camera pointed at his direction.

Ok, that's about it for me. I no longer watch or pay attention to anything that is political. I am disappointed with both sides of the isle and have given up on all of them.

This is not limited to American media, it's world-wide. In appears that the more information we have, the less we actually know.
