The Worlds Greatest Problems

What do you think the worlds greatest problems are? Pollution, corruption, war, or food/water shortages? Over population maybe?
I think man's greed, and the lack of faith in God is a good place to start. Please post your polite personal philosophies you would like to share, and discuss.

If we all lived as God intended, this world would be much different.

36 Master, which [is] the great commandment in the law? 37 Jesus said unto him,

Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. 38 This is the first and great commandment. 39 And the second [is] like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. 40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

[Matthew 22:36-40 KJV]

If everyone truly lived this way, the world's greatest problems would not exist.

Sorry, I don't get here very much to post, but I'm thinkin' that it might be radical activist agendas takin' over the education of our youth for the past 70+ years - like Socialism and radical Liberalism. One sided education with history being re-written, lies, deceit, manipulation of the truth and no moral values being taught, are the tools and works of Satan. Parents have been slowly brainwashed by years of this education agenda and have been prevented from giving their kids a proper up-bringing. Out here in the back country of mid America, we still try our best to give Christian values to our youngin's and try our best to keep a family unit together, but most of the schools these days are more powerful than parents and they take away those values with their activist agenda of political correctness. It's a sad thing to watch as the minds of our youth these days are being manipulated this way.

Oh, how I wish it was the 1950's again when families went to church together, had meals together, took trips together, had conversations together, kids played outside and used their imagination to have fun rather than having their face in a screen 12 hours a day getting one sided 'education'.

I dont know but I think greed is certainly a big problem.
It starts small but turns out if one person is greedy everyone else suffers.

I was reading an autobiography about the actress Patricia Neal. She was married to Roald Dahl, the famous writer, but she was also a well known actress in her day. Anyway. The tragedy of her life was he left her for another woman. But it turns she had done the same thing in her earlier years when she was sleeping with a married man (another actor called gary Cooper) and wanted him to leave his wife for her.

Now why would someone who is already married and has children then go sleep with someone who is not his wife? Simple answer...Because hes being greedy! And why would the 'other woman' put herself in this situation...cos shes being greedy too!

Why did Eve go after the forbidden fruit? Why wasnt she happy with all the other fruits from all the other trees in the garden? She was being greedy. Taking what was not meant for her and not allowed to have. She had so much else to enjoy but she wanted what she couldnt have.

Aside note, that liason did end tragically cos she did fall pregnant and had an abortion. Later on when she wa married to dahl her son was hit by a taxi, her daughter died of measles, and she had a stroke herself. She recovered, by the grace of God....but certainly life wasnt easy for her.

Personally, I think that the greatest problem today is the same one yesterday and 6000 years ago.

Jeremiah 8:20 …......
"The harvest is past, the summer has ended, and we are not saved."

Fix the humans and you automatically solved 90% of the earth’s problems.

I firmly stand besides brother Major. Blaming computers, the Internet, of the public school system is like blaming an itch instead of the ivy. I work in the public schools and, make no mistake about it, God in in our schools, He is just not in our classrooms.

Below is how one of our directors signs his e-mails:

Several of our school buildings are used to provide Sunday services at various locations:

I know several schools that hold bible study groups on the weekends and my office mate has the Lord's prayer on a plaque on her desk. Basically, the decision to not allow out Lord into our classrooms was made a really long time ago and no one from the school system was there to provide input. Well, kind of, as Congressman Ames wa, prior to his short political career (he died at age 50), was a school teacher himself. As an element of local government, schools have no choice but to follow the prevailing laws. Again, Mayor has the right answer (in my opinion).

Hello thenami;

Thank you for your thread, The World's Greatest Problems. Our brothers and sisters all have great points and it personally gives me much to think and pray about, daily.

In my daily devotion, thoughts and convictions, one of my biggest concerns is how the world has lost respect for human life since the beginning. God has always revealed his purposeful nature; Love, righteousness, purity, goodness, mercy, forgiveness and grace.

Since the beginning people affirmed His right living, but continued to embrace wrong living. But by the grace of God, there is a new hope every day.

We had an evangelism training all day last Saturday. 12 churches participated, then went out in the community and talked with people, many of them unreached in the Bay Area. When we shared the Gospel, our story, it was a peaceful experience and a very small start, even reaching one more person for Christ Jesus.

We ended the day on a positive note, increasing our love for others in Christ Jesus.

God bless you all and your families.

Agreed!

I am old enough to remember that President LBJ promoted the removal of prayer and Bible readings in our schools in 1964.

We asked God to leave us alone and He seems to have done just that.

As a result, we are now seeing what a moral collapse looks like as we are seeing a breakdown of society where killing policemen is an everyday event. The news shows us a school shooting every week. Our hospitals are full. The jails are full. A man can beat up someone and send them to the hospital and get out of jail before his victim gets out of the hospital.

WHY?????

We have lost the fear of a HOLY GOD!!!

Isaiah 11:2......…...
" The Spirit of the LORD shall rest upon Him, The Spirit of wisdom and understanding, The Spirit of counsel and might,
The Spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD."

It all boils down to the fact that we have lost the fear of God in most of our churches in this country. It takes place when there is a misuse of the pulpit along with the platform and altar it rests upon. It happens when preachers begin to preach to make their congregations happy instead of makeing God happy.

The Pulpit that God has provided to the Christian faith was not given to tickle ears, to entertain while the world is in throes of horrific suffering, to put ourselves at ease while the lost go without hearing the gospel. This platform for proclaiming Jesus was not given to make money, to build offices and staff or to make much of ourselves. It was given to us so that we might contend for the faith—that we might cry out in the wilderness, and call God’s faithful into a radical, unflinching, passionate zeal for the fullness of Christ Jesus.

Im going to consider the next world problem, pollution. (This is worldwide problem right? Not just problems in one country)
Is it a big problem? YES.

Like greed, if one person starts polluting, everyone else suffers. If many people pollute its an even bigger problem.

What is pollution really? Its when things arent pure anymore. When this first happened? Who made the first mess. Well when Cain killed Abel he left a big bloodstain on the ground (abels blood was crying out) and so what happened is the ground became cursed. I mean literally he couldnt till it anymore to yield any fruit, it became barren and useless.

Anyone try to grow food on barren ground? It doesnt work. You may try to grow fruit trees but they dont bear fruit, or veges the leaves are yellow not green as they cant absorb any minerals and nitrogen, the root crops rot, etc. and if you do manage to raise a crop, chances are its contaminated or poisoned in some. Way, and not nutritious.

Then literally you have nothing to eat so everyone starves. The only solution is to go to another land which is fertile and trade all your money to buy food. Cos you cant even feed yourself from your own land.

When we ask for Gods blessing He will bless the land as well to make it fruitful again. We need to obey and follow God, because the consequences of our own sinful nature mean we starve, literally and spiritually.

The desire to be worshipped. This was satan‘s greatest sin and that is how he is luring those in the world today to serve him. He offers them opportunity to be worshipped by other people, as an idol and they take it...above money above fame above values. Remember he tried the same trick with Jesus? And whatever he has demonstrated with our Lord, the Lord says he will also do to us.

Here is another example that God still comes to school, just not during the official school day. Today was national "See you at the pole day." At 7am today, thousands of students, teachers, and parents gathered around their school's flag pole and prayed as a family. Guys, I know it is popular to blame schools as Godless entities, but it just isn't true.

Hello Major;

I enjoyed reading your post, Glory to Him, and when you point out "history and Scripture," this helps to understand the starting point, even after centuries of other starting points to give us perspective of where we are today.

The world has its problems and can see how we asked God to leave us alone and yes, He has done that leading us to lose our fear of Him.

Thank you, Pastor, I personally needed to read this and well, we all really need to get on our knees and get back to the heart of worship, fear and reverence of our Sovereign God.

God bless you and your family.

President who?

I dont know any prime ministers before I was born. In nz, our own history is not a compulsory subject, but just recently, its now decided it will be! Too late for me to learn as a child. Lol.

But good for librarians because NOW we can order nz history books and say well we have to read them because we dont even know our own history. I think people just expected their parents to tell them. Well no, parents dont do that they dont tend to tell their children what naughty things they got up to before they were born.

I asked the children what they though the oldest book in the library was. A few guesses no its not Harry Potter or Hairy Maclary, or the Dictionary.

Clue starts with B and ends in E

As a child I actually had the presidents memorized for a history test. Now kids google everything; shoot we google scripture.
Think of it this way: All of the world's knowledge is available on the internet and in multiple language. Yes, Scripture is on there too, to include various points of view. I think it is a good thing, as long as you know how to Goggle and understand that some of the information is basically worthless.
