Trials and Troubles more precious than gold

See, when Solomon built that house, the temple for God. It was so rich and wealthy and gaudy, but did God want to live there? No!!
It became a den for money lenders and thieves.

Hmm they did lie. But they also thought the holy spirit could be bribed with money.
I think elsewhere in acts ppl were seeing healings and wanted to pay the apostles to have this gift. But Paul refused their money. The holy spirit cannot be bought or sold.

Now you are grasping at straws..Your desire is a selfish one. Ok so you do not wantmoney and want to just get by, cool so believe God for more and give it to His ministries. This is not just about your needs.

Yes but Jesus wanted to hirein another young man but he just could not quite catch on and yet they placed someone else there......
If my God my Father in heaven chooses to give me anything, I will be blessed by it. He has done so before.
If He blesses me to the point where I can bless anyone else with that gift, then I will do so as freely I have received and freely I will give, according to His word.
But I am not for one moment willing to live with any inclination of having anything that require me to say, I have to chase this thing or that thing, or I have to protect this thing or protect that thing.
He is number one. He is my provider and if I am to have anything, it will be by His hand only. Thus, I do not care for money.

You do not make sense. What is this chasing after stuff ? Gods desireis to bless you abundantly so you can give unto others. No one has ever said God is not the provider. You do not care for money....Is this an attempt to sound humble ? It is selfish for you should be belieivng God for much so you can give not oh well if one day He does then maybe I will have some to give.........Thats selfish..........

The Promises of God

Ephesians 1:2-3 KJV

(2)Grace be to you, and peace, from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ.
(3) Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all
spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:

2 Peter 1:3-4 KJV

(3)According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness,
through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:
(4) Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might
be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

Notice, God has already given to us all the food, clothing, shelter, job, transportation, money, spiritual understanding, and wrapped them up in a "form" of a promise.
The Bible is filled with promises that our Lord has given us. These promises have already been
given unto us. The promises contain everything we need to complete our mission here on earth. These promises do not come to us automatically as they have to be received by faith. If we just sit around waiting for them we will never get them.
The promises that we already have is where we get our Hope from. The Apostle Paul said in the book of acts that he was on trial because of the hope of the promise... If God had not given
unto us his promises, we would have no hope at all!!

Act 26:6

(6) And now I stand and am judged for the hope of the promise made of God unto our
fathers:

If I promised to give you $100.00, you immediately gain a hope to receive this money. You
want my promise to you to become fulfilled. As soon as you see this $100.00, my promise to you is
fulfilled. We must remember the only person who can fulfill God's promises is the one who promised
it. My wife nor anybody else can fulfill my promise to you except me! When a promise is given,
that promise binds that person who gave it to the person who is to receive i
t. God is bound by his promises
to us to fulfill it in our lives. The word “promise” means “to tell, declare. To proclaim as public
announcements or decrees
”. The Greek word also has a legal meaning “to summons” (to summon). A summons requires a person to appear at a particular place at a particular time. For what purpose are we to appear? So we can receive the promises given us by God! If you want to receive the $100.00 I promised you, you will never see it or get it until you come to me where I am at!

Heb 4:16

(16)Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace
to help in time of need.

If you have any needs in your life, God has a promise that can fulfill it, only you have to come to
him to receive it. Before a promise is fulfilled in our Life we are only hoping for its fulfillment. But once we see what we have been hoping for, we are no longer hoping for it anymore. God had to teach Abraham how to walk by faith, as he had no clue how faith works. The Lord began by telling Abram to walk the length, and breath of the promise land, and then God said to him....

For all the land which thou seest, to thee will I give it, and to thy seed for ever. (Gen 13;15)

Abraham was now in a place to see what God promised him. As long as Abraham kept his eyes on this promise, he would receive what the Lord promised him. Later the Lord again told Abraham to look to the skies, and see all the stars, then God told him, “so shall thy seed be...” Abraham was now able to see another hope to fix his eyes upon.
Our hope in the promises of God given to us are not seen, and as long as we can not see them we will continue hoping for them, and never be able to receive the end of our promises, which is actually getting them.

Rom 8:24-25

(24) For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why
doth he yet hope for?

(25) But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it

Hope that is seen IS NOT HOPE!!! Why does a man hope for something he already sees? He
doesn't! He is no longer hoping because he sees his hope fulfilled! Notice verse 25. We are hoping for
something we can not see, yet.
  1. But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it.
The Bible does not say hope is invisible, or that it can not be seen, but it does say when you see it, you are no longer hoping for it.
It changes from Hope into another kind of substance.

(24) For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why
doth he yet hope for?

Heb 11:1
  1. Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
Once hope is seen, you are no longer hoping but now seeing it by faith!
Faith is the substance of things “hoped” for...... Hope can never bring to us what we are hoping for ,but “faith” can!! Faith always sees what it is hoping for. If we can not see it, we will never get it!
The Apostle Paul knew this and so he prayed for the the Church to “see the hope of God's calling”

Eph 1:15-18

(15)Wherefore I also, after I heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus, and love unto all the saints,
(16)Cease not to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers;
(17)That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom
and revelation in the knowledge of him:
(18) The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of
his calling,
and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints,

The Greek word in verse 18 “know” means, “to see”. The Apostle Paul prayed constantly to God
the Father to enlighten our eyes so we could SEE THE HOPE OF HIS CALLING!!!! When your eyes are enlightened you see something, that is the purpose of light is so we can see!!
People who are hoping in the promises of God are spiritually blind. They can
not see, they need to come to God to receive the promises he gave them, You have to see it to receive it! “if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it.” It was never God's purpose for us to hope your entire life away! Hope always has a time in which it becomes fulfilled.
Its in this life not after you die!!! Think about it, wouldn't that be dumb for someone to promise you
something that you could never get in this life?

Pro 13:12

  1. Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but a longing fulfilled is like a tree of life.”
We have a lot of sick people in the Church today because they have never seen there hope fulfilled.
Hope fulfilled is like eating from the tree of life, I will never be the same! The word “deferred”,
means, “postponed, delayed”. The only person who can delay the promises of God to be finished in
my life is me! I have been summoned to appear before my Lord at a specific time to receive from him his promises made to me.

If I do not ask for what God has already given me I will never see it or get it. The Word of God contain thousands of promises that God expects us to ask for. Everything in the Kingdom of God comes by this method, even salvation came this way

I agree that God is bound to the promises that He Himself made. God cannot lie so if makes a promise then He has to keep it and WILL keep it. A promise is of no value if a person is not bound to it.

There is an example in Genesis where Abraham is confronting God and holding Him to His word(character). Abraham says in Genesis 18:25, "Far be it from You to do such a thing as this, to slay the righteous with the wicked, so that the righteous should be as the wicked; far be it from You! Shall not the Judge of all the earth do right?"

God does not get angry or even rebuke Abraham for talking to Him like that.

I dont get what these guys are arguing over.
Which blessing are they talking about? Theres many blessings in the bible. Sermon on the mount is full of them. We are blessed with every spiritual blessing. We are blessed to part of Gods family.

Those guys ooops that would be me too, sorry.
Not argueing over blessings or promises......I just do not stand quiet when people try to say poverty is Gods will or if God wants me to have it then He will give it to me or act as if having money is wrong or it is more humble to be poor and so forth for all of that is opposed to the written word of God.

God has given us His promises BUT we have to know them and know how to activate them and live in such a way that we can activate them. To not want to do this for I can get by with little for me and my family is being selfish. If you dont want it then so be it but dont rip off others at your own corner of happiness. Living here in this earth is NOT about us.

Blessings

Those who know God up close and personal have no "fear" in the presence of God, and are able speak freely , and boldly for things. Not only did Abraham intercede for Sodom, but so did Moses when God wanted to destroy his people and start over with Moses because of their sins. On both accounts Abraham, and Moses interceded for their deliverance. I believe the Lord knew before hand what each would say, which is why he told them his plan so they would divert disaster by interceding for them.

Both the old and new testiment is full of examples such as this.
God tells us to come to the thrown room boldy. This is not a well if you can type of thing. It is His set way. Those who wine and bicker when they go to prayer hardly see results. God is moved by Faith. Yes He has compassion for a loving and trusting heart but once you get past the stage of milk or at least should be..........You better be going to Him in the way he has inclined us to come.........

Kj you can twist things all you want. You can make up things to fit your life all youi want but it does not change anything...

Example.......you claim.....Ananias and Sapphira did and died.
They died because they LIED KJ..........They had the right to give what ever they wanted BUT they said this is ALL WE GOT which was lying to the Holy Spirit. It had nothing to do with them having money. The chapter even tells you this........

Poverty is not being humble before God..........
Why do you think they lied about the money?

As for poverty, you putting words in my mouth.

Yes, we are God's family, His children, and we are so by faith, continuously led along and blessed by our Father who rewards us for our love and faith.

Hebrews 11:6
And it is impossible to please God without faith. Anyone who wants to come to him must believe that God exists and that he rewards those who sincerely seek him.
Excellant verse, though I am 100% certain we disagree on rewards.

1. The Israelites were wealthy people coming out of Egypt.

2. We need to remind ourselves regularly, as people who forget, that God's promises are true and good.
1. Care to explain further please.

2. So what you are saying is that we need to brainwash ourselves. We do not automitaically trust that God will provide. We have no faith in Him? We have to isolate, memorize and repeat promises....from our Father....to our Father....

If we are aware of the truths concerning faith and do not apply them, then we are no better off than the prodigal, who could have enjoyed his position, but chose his own way and found himself destitute and starving.

So you don't think the prodigal son is a reference more to the person that returns to their vomit? Returns to loving darkness and hating light?

tellme how exactly not applying the concepts of faith / saying 'your will be done God' = choosing our own way? I think you have that backwards.
