I have a question about this.... Does Justification happen from the moment we are saved??? or is it the final step that allows us to get to heaven? I'm trying to find a way to explain what I mean.
I know we are justified by and only because of CHRIST. I believe this is HOW GOD sees us... even though we are still filled with sin due to being on earth.... but there MUST be something that happens at judgement day???.... the part that Christ will plead our case and has paid in FULL for all our sins is what allows us to get to heaven.... right???? We are seen as righteous and exonerated from our SIN because Christ paid our debt... HE absorbed all our sin = we are made RIGHTEOUS before God. Am I correct??
Yes. You are correct!
At the moment we accept Jesus as our Saviour, He declares us "Not Guilty". Justification is a legal term for that action.
Also, at that same moment in time, we are indwelt with the Holy Spirit and "sealed".
The process of salvation is..........
1. Justified happens at the moment we accept Jeus as the Christ.
2. Sanctified. This is a life long process of being set aside for Gods use.
3. Glorified. This happens to our spirit at death so that we can stand in front of a holy God.
There is NO Judgment day for the believers. The Judgement Seat of Christ is seen in Romans 14:10-12......
“For we will all stand before God’s judgment seat. . . . So then, each of us will give an account of himself to God”.
Also 2 Corinthians 5:10........
“We must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each of us may receive what is due us for the things done while in the body, whether good or bad”.
The judgment seat of Christ
does not determine our salvation; that matter was settled by Christ’s sacrifice on our behalf and our faith in Him. All our sins are forgiven, and there is “no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus” (
Romans 8:1).
Jesus said in John 5:4........
“Very truly I tell you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and
will not be judged but has crossed over from death to life”.
