What are you listening to?

Here is one I listen to every once and a while. It can be interpreted as a sinner crying out to God.

Some people dislike listening to secular stuff, but I like them especially if I am feeling lonely enough and doubting. Some of the stuff I sometimes listen to is people crying out for salvation, and I get it. And yet other hardcore christian stuff sang with faith is even better.
I'm currently listening to the nutcracker. Because it reminds me we are a Royal Priesthood, a chosen Nation, and His Possession.

 
Hello everyone;

As a musician I listen to different genres and wanted to share a couple of orchestra instrumentals that I hope everyone enjoys.

A Summer Place conducted by Percy Faith in 1960. It was number one on the charts for 9 weeks, the longest for an instrumental. It was also a movie that my Dad took my Mom went to see when I was two years old.


Love is Blue conducted by Paul Mauriat in 1968. It was number one on the charts for 5 weeks.

Thanks, Bob. Both are nostalgia pieces from my past. A Summer Place reminds me of when I was a kid and we first moved to Salt Lake City. When I was a teenager, both my mother and I loved Love is Blue. Mauriat had amazing arranging skills, taking a rather third-rate French love song and making it a chart-topper. One of his keys to success was the unusual trick of pairing an instrument that decayed with time (piano) with one that didn't (oboe) in unison, carrying the melody. A very pleasant effect. Also excellent use of a harp.
