What are you listening to?

I am loving all the oldies right now. this is my fave from church.
hope this encourages someone like it does me.
trying times call for encouraging highs❤️🙏❤️🙏❤️🙏

I love the vocal arrangements between male and female verses, singing together in unison and then in harmony. I enjoyed listening to Father I place into your hands this morning.

God bless you, Via and thank you for sharing.

Nice song, thank you Via dolarossa !

Here is one that I love to listen to:

It is also interesting to read some of the comments in the video (when you watch it on youtube)
The risen Christ can save lives and change hearts and give us new hope.

May it bless you too !

Hello Sola Gratia;

You
and Via blessed me this morning with two great worship songs. Thank you for sharing.

West Coast Bible College is located in Lancaster, CA, about 6 hours drive south from where we live in the SF Bay Area.

As I was enjoying the video it reminded me of my first ministry which was music. I'm encouraged by these young believers. How many will become men and women servants for Christ as they grow and mature?

God bless
you, brother, and thank you.

Lyrics:
[Hook]
Feel the calling of a miracle
In the presence of the word
Now we hold the right to rearrange
How the stories can be heard

[Verse 1]
In the beginning is the future
And the future is at hand
I'll be calling voices of Africa
Be the rhythm to the plan

[Verse 2]
From the Congo to Lenasia
Be the writing on the wall
I'll be calling the colors of India
See the Asian life explode

[Chorus]
Head into the headlight
Don't turn from the rain
There's a fire raging somewhere near
Like a longtime friend who's
Seen it darker than ebony
Take off on the turnpike
(Asking for the first call)
Give me more of the same
(Asking for a song)
There's a fire burning in my heart again
[Verse 3]
I'll be calling the dragons of China
See the dancers of the Nile
See the wings of change are on display
This revelation mine

[Hook]
Feel the calling of the miracle
In the presence of the word

[Chorus]
Head into the headlight
Don't turn from the rain
There's a fire raging somewhere near
Like a longtime friend who's
Seen it darker than ebony
Take off on the turnpike
(Asking for the first call)
Give me more of the same
(Asking for a song)
There's a fire burning in my heart again

[Bridge]
Feel the calling of a miracle
This revelation mine

[Chorus]
Head into the headlight
Don't turn from the rain
There's a fire raging somewhere near
Like a longtime friend who's
Seen it darker than ebony

hey Big Moose I have heard of this rock band before but I have never really heard much by them. I think I must of overlooked them but now they touch me. 😁

Yes, the musical part of my soul responds to a number of their songs. You can check out these also:
Leave It
Roundabout
Owner of a Lonely Heart (I think everyone has heard in the 80's)
I've Seen All Good People
City of Love
Changes

Those are my favorites. The album "90125" has a lot of good ones.

Great song. I remember this in the 80's.
It was catchy and having listened to it again, I never remembered all of the lyrics, but they are very relatable and meaningful.

Hello Big Moose and Via;

We have a "cord of 3" regarding one of my favorite bands growing up. I attended a Black Sabbath concert and Yes was the prep band before Sabbath took the stage. This was in 1972 and I was 15. Yes stole the show! I've been following Yes since.

My brother and I listened to
The Calling on Sunday and he is already familiar with the song. I shared "I've Seen All Good People" in another thread here a few months ago.

Yes' lead singer Jon Anderson sang as a guest the song The Only Thing I Need by the Christian band 4Him. This may have open the door in his faith. Jon is still not a devout Christian but a syncretist - a combination of various spiritual beliefs. I pray that one day God will break that down and lead him to Christ.

God bless
you both.

Bob

Peace in Our Time- Eddie Money

Oh, darling, how strong is
Love supposed to be
Surrounded by fire and magic
We long to be free

Cheating, heating up
Down on the streets of shame
To be strong enough
To fly without love
Like a phoenix from the flame

You've gotta have faith
To work it out, faith and hope
Without a doubt, give us strength
To make a start
Put a song in our heart

Never gonna break down the walls
And build a prison with the stone

'Cause you and I know
What love is worth
We're gonna build
A Heaven on Earth

Running in the
Wheels of fortune
Turning water into wine
Gonna make love the bottom line
Gonna find peace in our time

Whoa, oh, peace in our time

Sweet, sweet darling
When there is lightning in the sky
Come out of the storm
And into the warmth of
The healing I'll supply

Gotta have faith
And get it fast, faith and hope
If you let it last, give us strength
To reach the stars
Put a song in our heart

'Cause you and I know
What love is worth
We're gonna build
A Heaven on Earth

Running in the
Wheels of fortune
Turning water into wine
Gonna make love the bottom line
Gonna find peace in our time

Whoa, oh

And the sign of the dove
Gonna shine, shine, shine
On the wing and prayer
We'll get by, by, by

Keep on keeping on
As long as our dreams are true
When cities are dust
It's Heaven or bust
In the shape of me and you

Gotta have faith (faith)
To goad us along
Now there's hope (hope)
To carry us on
Give us strength (strength)
We'll never go wrong
With this song in our hearts

Never gonna break down the walls
And build a prison with the stone

'Cause you and I know
What love is worth

A Heaven here on Earth

Hello Big Moose;

This is a great song by Eddie Money. May he rest in peace.

God bless you, brother.

One of the most underrated song writers in my opinion.
He always put soul in his music. This is one of my favorites.
Truly missed.
`interesting song.

I am more used to boom and beat with very little is said about the end. that would be my punk days. But what I like I like about this song is the continuous melodic chorus and following through loops and its soothing.

You mean like the Ramones, Dead Kennedys, Misfits, Social Distortion?

I am actually a fan of all music mostly. Just modern Rap and Opera never were not my thing.
We can have varied styles playing in the car at any given time LOL.

Music for me is a huge memory trigger, having always listened to music there are so many memories tied to it.
I have more MP3s then I could count quite honestly.
I agree with the memory thing.

When I have to go to my office in downtown, it is an hour's drive there and a 1.5-hour drive back. I like listening to David Guzik’s Bible Commentary on those days. This is usually done two to three times a month. The rest of the month I go to my south office, which might be 10 - 15 minutes. On those days, I listen to music. I much rather listen to "old" music because it does bring back memories. By old I mean from the late 70s and 80s. My all-time favorite is Dust in the Wind. It always reminds me of being 17, living in Miami Beach, FL, and my two childhood "best friends."

Yes I have to also chime in one of my favorites as well.
Is David on XmRadio ?

I do like a couple of newer bands, but the older I get the more the herd thins that I can tolerate.
I pick more bands now that are modern that write lyrics well..
But a car ride with music could easily be back to back, Scorpions, Shinedown, Bach or Mozart, George Straight, Earth Wind and Fire,
no particular style or order. I do have allot of child triggers from 60's and 70's music too many to list but that would be someone the biggest memory triggers of drives to SantaCruz at night, or on the Cruise, Bonfires on the beach are all from that era music.

We are truly blessed with gifts like this. I mean think of how our design is that sound can bring such pleasure.
I know in memory care, music is a huge Benefit. Of course my Mom saw Elvis playing there last week and her asked her to dance.
I thought wow, what a memory and she thinks is real. God protect them I know he does.
